I have never had a more miserable experience with a carpet company. First they measure wrong then they screw up the installation appointment. They don't return calls. They install carpet with a nice big dark stain in the middle of the hallway. Don't know if they'll take care of there mistake because they don't return calls! Good prices on product as well as installation. 5 stars. Don't pay what's on the sticker though...they negotiate which I hate, but it wasn't like haggling for a used car or anything & was easy! Although maybe I could have gotten it cheaper if I had haggled :) Only 3 stars for organization...phone messages are rarely delivered/calls returned so you have to just keep calling back. Then they forgot to give me the moldings when i picked up my wood laminate flooring so i had to make another trip. Then i discovered they forgot to sell me the underlay as my installer was getting ready to lay down the floor. At this point the store was closed so a night of lost work. Thankfully I live close so not that big a deal to go back again, but for someone who lives far away, this would be HUGE! 5 stars for saving the day....So all parts needed & ready to go the next night, my installer shows up & decided the job was too hard & walked off after about 2 hours of disastrous work. I went to the store panicked & the next day & they totally bailed me out & scheduled an installation immediately. But, back to the organization part...I was supposed to pick up paperwork and knowing Tuesday is my sales guy's day off I asked him if he was sure I should pick it up then & he said absolutely. Well when I went in, no one has a clue where the paperwork was & suggested I come back when he's on duty....another trip but again, I live close by. I'll go back next year when we need tile & carpet so for now would recommend them to anyone needing wood flooring. I'll update next year w/ my tile/carpet experience. read more

Georgia was the 3rd place I had come to measure for an estimate as I was on a budget and the other places were unable to meet my requirements or were making the process more complicated than it needed to be. We purchased carpet at Georgia Carpet and Floors with Greg as our sales person. From the moment we walked into the store we felt he was there to listen to our needs, not just make a sale. We were urged to take samples home to ensure color and style choice. After deciding on color and style, Greg arranged for room measurements, ordered carpet, and subsequent install. Today, about 8 days after ordering, we have new carpet in our entire home installed by Carlos and his two wonderful helpers. They not only moved furniture out, removed old carpet, installed new carpet and pad, but also moved furniture back into the newly carpeted areas, a task we would not have been able to do on our own. After problems arose with defective material, follow-up calls to management initially went unanswered. They have since responded. We went in for carpet on our rental..we looked at a Berber but it was too rough for our new tenants baby..so we settled on a different one that was a little more but worth it..they sent out installers to measure and when we called them they gave us a final price..two days later my husband went to pay in full only for the woman who orginally helped us told us the the better and softer carpet has since then been sold. We bought paint around the color of this carpet. So they basically SCREWED us and their attitude was "oh sorry". I would not buy carpet or flooring from this company if they were the last company in the state of Florida....Beware of their customer service or I should say their LACK of customer service. read more

This was our fourth experience at Georgia Carpet World this time without our beloved Tom who retired, but Sandy and Greg stepped into his shoes and succeeded in meeting all our needs. This time we had a black mold and water disaster due to a new dishwasher and it ruined all of our laminate flooring along with having black mold in our subfloors in the kitchen. Throughout this disaster we have had no help along the way in getting anything done, but GCW helped us buy providing Jeremy who got rid of the mold and installed new subfloors. He did a super job in terrible conditions. We needed a great price--the insurance company never gives you what you need to cover everything--deductible and depreciation are deducted. Sandy and Greg helped us find a new product and it has turned out just perfect--beautiful and better than our old floor and waterproof vinyl planks so this will never happen again. Then there is Carlos and his team who did a superb job installing the floor. They were perfectionist who far surpassed our expectations. We went to 3 different carpet stores to get estimates, but came back to GCW because of price and service. This whole mold experience has been a nightmare--everyone has disappointed us except GCW. The store had a good choice of carpet and laminate for our mobile home. Armand came over to measure and gave us a reasonable price and a quick installation since we were only in Bradenton for a few days this fall. So far, so good. The installation, unfortunately, was a disaster! He was several hours late, and several calls to the store were handled poorly. We were told "He's on his way!!" for four hours. He finally arrived, did not finish in the time we were told, and insisted on cash payment. We gave him half. He returned on the second day and insisted on full payment even though the job was NOT complete. As we had to leave to go back north, he promised both verbally and in writing (yeah, I KNOW!!) to come back and finish when we returned in a couple of months. When we called him in December...he seemed to have lost his memory!!! He had no idea WHO we were and had no memory at all of saying he'd come back. Live and learn. My husband went to the store to complain, and lo and behold, they had no idea who this installer was. So, I'd say, give the store a chance, but INSIST on a reputable installer. NOT Jerry!! read more
