We found this facility and were hopeful since it was closer to home and was also a pediatric dentistry. However, after our visit today, we will not be returning to this facility again. The service at the front desk was laughable at best (if not otherwise noted as terrible.) After going back and forth for over an hour because they "could not find dental coverage for my son" due to a blatant error on their part that I corrected over and over, my children and I left. There's a movie room to keep your children occupied while waiting, or adults waiting for their kids. He does such a great job, when my daughter had 8 cavities (yes, 8, oops), he took care of it swiftly and she had no issues. In the new office, they have a gold coin to give to them where they can pick from several candy ball-like machines as a prize. Aka Shark teeth One of the front teeth were loose, but 3 others (adult teeth are much larger of course) were impeding them coming forward. We set a check up/extraction for 3 weeks out which is today. He was able to get that loose one out himself, but the other 3 needed to be removed. The staff is absolutely wonderful and calm my son. As for the extraction, Dr. Haffner was great. While my son played Minecraft he was able to get all 3 teeth out. He did need lidocaine and giggle gas. I highly recommend Dr. Haffner. They are so good with the kids.

The waiting room has a giant artificial tree in the lobby, as well as a separate room for patients to watch a movie. Once further inside, the decor is professional and kid friendly. They have TVs for the patients to watch during their cleaning or procedures. The X-ray aprons have smiley faces on them - how cute is that? To this day my son still gets a reward coin after his cleaning to use in their prize machine. :) Dr. Bongiovi is the Best! He is very patient, honest, extremely skilled, and compassionate. They offer private rooms at an additional $100 (optional) but only in the mornings and if you agree to a private room once- the office categorizes you as a patient who can graduate from that room but only based on the discretion of the people who are getting paid by such private room⁉They will refuse to schedule an appt with a regular room moving forward. You are stuck paying for the private room and front desk can't do anything about it. This feels unethical and not in the best interest of your patients. Every other dental office will offer you a private room due to hipaa and osha ( this is a clear violation) and not charge additional. The only difference is there is a door here and not a partition. At this office they make it so the chairs sit SO close together like in a dental college ( a dental bay is a clear osha violation) - that naturally the parent will request that private room bc all it takes is one crying child to scare the others. Either way, you do have to agree to it so it's not a secret either but again feels off and completely on purpose! This area is like the, "nicest," in the neighborhood I guess and the other offices around are pretty old, making it so that these type of businesses provide care in a different way, more like you're a number and not a person. The slide and toys are nice but not what most important here. It's too bad bc Dr.Diaz was very kind and the hygienists were lovely as well. Ultimately, I thought maybe I was not the target audience until the office manager called me back to smooth things over and never acknowledged the issue. She went out of her way to tell me why the have private rooms while still not addressing that the issue is they lock you into a room you have to pay $100 additional for and therefore cant even book a regular appt without their permission, the dr didn't bother to call me and Elaina even admitted there were no notes from Dr saying my son had to stay in private room. Did no one tell you that? We can't do anything. We dont extract permanent teeth!" In the rudest, most unprofessional way possible. The only positive experience i had at this office was the sweet woman who called me back and made a call to the Gainesville location to get my son seen today. For a medical professional to speak to a mother in distress the way she did, maybe she should of chose a different profession. I told her "I'm a mother in distress because my son is in pain, I wasn't rude to you and there is no reason at all for you to be getting rude with me" and she just walked off. Someone needs to do something about this "medical professional" because she clearly doesn't like the job she chose. All the seats were full; the dentist was running back and forth between patients. They didn't realize I had 2 children there; I watched the dentist examine and put fluoride on my child. Most of the fluoride ended up on her mouth. I didn't say anything at this point since I've decided not to return.
