If you want travel information they have brochures and employees that will help you their hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. they even have orange juice that you can sample for free as well as grapefruit juice. They also have picnic tables on the side of the building It is a nice spot to stop at especially if you're traveling a far distance.

Speaking of mosquitoes, do come prepared depending on the season, as they can be everywhere and relentless! The pricing in the store was pretty expensive but not surprising. They also have an older facility on site that is old school bathroom stalls and shower stalls with no AC. That part was pretty terrible and in sore need of renovations if not a full rebuild. It was mostly quiet at night too so we were able to sleep. The kids enjoyed the bird sanctuary, too, which rarely had anyone else there. Driftwood beach is a short walk away.

The gift shop has more than enough snacks and drinks to refuel and loads of merch to bring home to remember your super cool experience! I would do this experience again. It's great!

This review is for the Okefenokee Adventures entrance in Folkston. We drove to the Visitor's Center after paying park admission. I had bought boat tour ticket ahead of time online. Show your tix in the gift shop and board the boat. Our guide was very informative and made sure to give an unrushed thorough look at any gator we spotted, plus other wildlife. Our tour was Christmas time and we saw plenty of creatures out and about. After the boat tour we hiked a couple nearby trails. Learned that white paint rings on trees are those with endangered woodpecker species. They have an old settlement set up to show a sand yard, which was used to stop forest fires, and to observe or track (footprints) of wildlife attempting to attack livestock or pillage food storage. They offer overnight camping tours for up to five nights. Our guide said, for example, 3 nights is $500pp, and that is all inclusive including gear. Campsites are on floating platforms in the swamp. Yes, amidst the population of 12,000-15,000 alligators living in the swamp (and we saw a TON of them just off the Visitor's Center! There are barred owls making crazy calls all night, and two types of nocturnal aquatic salamanders that hunt fish and can be seen with a flashlight overnight. Everything was clean, quiet, and felt serene/relaxing, just as we'd hoped.

But even without AC, once the sun went down, it cooled down enough to sleep in the evening, and wake up in the middle of the night to watch the sky from the star-gazing field a short walk from our site. The best part was probably the 4 camp kittens. They were very friendly and funny, and will be for sure going back later in the year, when it is a little bit cooler, to see how they kittens are growing.

The folks who work at the campground; Charleen, Kelly & Rudy were just the most welcoming & warm people we've come across in a while. Check in/out was super easy, firewood that you purchase is delivered right to your cabin. Theres a shop with lots of things if you forgot anything & really pretty reasonably priced. Plus there's dvds you can just check in or out for free. Theres an adorable patio off the main building where we had a blast playing battleship and shuffleboard. We also ordered food. I'm from Pennsylvania and a good cheesesteak is far and few between it seems down south.. this place has the best cheesesteak I've had in years. It was hot, greasy & packed with flavor. Food was 10/10. Also; the bathrooms were surprisingly clean & it was a rainy day/night. Hiking trails are a 5 minute drive. Theres a dog park at the campground, that was awesome. The only semi negative thing I could say is the cabins are pretty close to each other so there's not a ton of privacy. If you're looking for an intimate camping experience, that also feels really safe, this is the perfect place. We will definitely back and I do HIGHLY recommend! At its peak, the train station served a quickly growing Fernandina Beach during the last year of the 19th Century. Today, the train depot turned welcome center, is a great first stop when visiting the island. The staff is very helpful and provides a plethora of information about the area, current events, history of the city, and the best places to go for a meal or night out. The welcome center provides a variety of free brochures, some include coupons to local restaurants and shops. There is not a lot to see inside, however, the outside of the welcome center provides a great opportunity for a photo op. If you are in the area, I recommend stopping in to talk to one of the volunteers to get the low-down on what's going on in the area. You never know, you might find serendipity.

The room and bathroom were very spacious and the ceiling was high. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. A continental breakfast was provided every morning. Upstairs, there was an ice machine and Keurig coffee maker which I appreciated as I brought my own K-cups from home. Also, our room had a mini-fridge and freezer combo. This was a plus due to being a gluten-free person and having to bring my own breakfast food and coffee creamer. On Saturday night, a lady named, Shell, performed in The Principal's Office Bar. She was really good and even took requests. My husband and I would definitely stay here again. I do have a few suggestions. Everyday, 4 towels were placed in the bathroom, but only 2 washcloths. I asked twice for 2 more to be put in my room, but that didn't happen. One evening, a sweet bartender grabbed extra washcloths for us. Also, a hand-held sprayer would be nice to have in the shower as the soft water made it hard to remove soap from my body and shampoo and conditioner from my hair. Additionally, the steps on the side of the building near the ramp have metal strips placed on them, and they become very slippery when it rains. When we left one afternoon, it was raining. My husband slipped and fell down the steps. So, maybe a non-slip material could be added to the steps. Lastly, the pool was full of leaves the five days we stayed at the Inn. I never saw anyone do any maintenance to the pool. There were towels out on Saturday for pool use, but none of the other days. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend the Inn to others.

Ultimately; I appreciate the effort put forth by management to communicate after-the-fact, but I called 3 different numbers and knocked on the "owner" or property manager's door (identified by car parked out front using manager's parking pass) and did not receive an answer. You had my personal contact information and did not make an effort to send them to me directly. I advise you revise your workflow to provide these details to the customer directly, especially after calling me to take my payment information for incidentals over the phone.

The negative: no real trees/shade altho the grass was well kept. Water needed a filter and we couldn't get TV reception. Maybe half to three quarters are permanent and I've seen a lot of complaints but we do not feel any need to complain. Also...RR tracks are close and maybe 5-8 trains came by every day/night. We love trains, so not a problem to us - just be warned if you care. No playground or dog park, with lots of dogs (all leashed). We will come back if we are in the area.
