Our pull‑through site had full hookups (30 & 50 amp service) and plenty of room to maneuver, making setup easy and stress‑free. Each site is beautifully lined on both sides with magnolia bushes and trees, providing a surprising amount of privacy and a peaceful, park‑like feel. We also appreciated that each site has a separate spigot for washing your rig or vehicle, which is a thoughtful and convenient feature. One of the biggest advantages for us was the easy access to I‑95. We used this campground as a two‑night stopping point to break up our drive from Myrtle Beach to Miami, and the location was perfect--quick on and off the highway without the noise you might expect. The amenities here truly stand out. There are multiple bath houses and laundromats, all clean and convenient, plus a well‑stocked store with RV supplies and LP gas. The entire resort is handicap accessible, which is clearly reflected in the layout and facilities. There's no shortage of things to do--fishing on the lake, relaxing by the swimming pool, or enjoying shuffleboard, horseshoes, and the game room. The pavilion fire rings, dock, and conference center add even more versatility. What really sets this place apart is the staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. When we had an issue, they quickly referred us to a local mobile RV repair technician, who was wonderful and took great care of us. This campground is excellent as an overnight or travel stop, but it's so well‑kept, quiet, and amenity‑rich that we would absolutely recommend it for a longer stay as well. We would happily return.

But even without AC, once the sun went down, it cooled down enough to sleep in the evening, and wake up in the middle of the night to watch the sky from the star-gazing field a short walk from our site. The best part was probably the 4 camp kittens. They were very friendly and funny, and will be for sure going back later in the year, when it is a little bit cooler, to see how they kittens are growing.

Check in/out was super easy, firewood that you purchase is delivered right to your cabin. Theres a shop with lots of things if you forgot anything & really pretty reasonably priced. Plus there's dvds you can just check in or out for free. Theres an adorable patio off the main building where we had a blast playing battleship and shuffleboard. We also ordered food. I'm from Pennsylvania and a good cheesesteak is far and few between it seems down south.. this place has the best cheesesteak I've had in years. It was hot, greasy & packed with flavor. Food was 10/10. Also; the bathrooms were surprisingly clean & it was a rainy day/night. Hiking trails are a 5 minute drive. Theres a dog park at the campground, that was awesome. The only semi negative thing I could say is the cabins are pretty close to each other so there's not a ton of privacy. If you're looking for an intimate camping experience, that also feels really safe, this is the perfect place. We will definitely back and I do HIGHLY recommend! The walk to the beach is easy to moderate while walking thru soft sand, until the beach, where ancient trees lay on their sides, and roots make for a gorgeous view. The day we were here, the beach was littered with the bodies of cannon ball jellyfish, which are surprisingly solid, so watch your feet. Enjoy the temperate water of the Atlantic ocean and the bright South Ga Sun for a perfect afternoon.

Each site is level and gravel. There is not any privacy between sites but they are not stacked on top of each other either. There is a fire pit, a picnic table, a grill and a lantern hook at each site. There are only 3 campsites on Lake Laura Walker but all of the other campsites have a view of it. There is one bathhouse for the campground and I did not go in it so I don't know how clean it is. The rest of the park is well maintained so I imagine the bathhouse would be too. The park offers a visitor center with a gift shop and ice cream and boiled peanuts for sale. The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The park is about 20 mins from Waycross should you need to shop or grab a bite to eat. There are two playgrounds, a fitness area, many pavilions and picnic areas. There is also an area for Sunday Church service which starts at 9:30 am. They also offer cabins and cottages for rent and there are separate campgrounds for pioneer and group camping. They have a VERY large dog park! One side for small dogs and the other for large dogs. Each side offers a bench and a watering station. This dog park added an extra star to my overall rating! We enjoyed our stay here and were happy to find out we were only about 8 miles from the Okefenokee Swamp Park which is also highly recommended!

These people are volunteers and it's their hobby that I appreciated a lot! The beach when you get out of the fort is different kind, no swimming and lots of driftwood and whatnot! The drive there and back is breathtaking following the winding road and looking at the moss covered trees that frame the road! We visit all the forts and historical sites as much as we can and this one is great!
