I made an appointment and was told the doctor would take a look at my teeth, and give an estimate for creating a partial dental for me. ClearChoice had already given me an estimate of $2500; my own dentist $3100. I wasn't thrilled with my earlier partial from ClearChoice, which led me to Dr. Marlin. Long story short, my "free" exam and estimate took 3 hours (really!), where I was told they couldn't give me an estimate, until I agreed to having a full exam, 22 X rays, and molds. I left the office after paying $700 for these diagnostics, after which I finally got an estimate for a total of $20,000 of work to make a "precision" partial! And when I asked for my X rays to bring elsewhere, they sent me, from 22 X rays, a 0.1 meg single .jpg and said that was the full original x rays. This low res single .jpg was useless. They offered me a less expensive removable partial, but only if I would pay $12,000 for 4 crowns and "build ups", which my dentist said I don't even need. And if I had my dentist do the crowns for half the cost, Dr. Marlin would not do the lower cost 'removable" partial for me. He would want to do it all. Beware: Truly SERIOUS upcharging! $2500 from ClearChoice to nearly $20,000 from Dr. Marlin! I can't afford him. I'm sure he does excellent work, but I don't quite trust them. read more

Dr. Gerald Marlin - Expert Prosthodontist and the Best in Prosthetic Dentistry I went to Dr. Marlin years ago for my two front teeth, that got knocked out during a bike accident, Dr. Marlin replaced those teeth, and his in house lab I can say they did beyond merely a "good" job on the prosthetic teeth. His lab matched up not only the color but they even added ridges to the fake teeth to make them look realistic. Anyways I went back now years later because I was having some different issues and Dr. Marlin is still just as intuitive and superb as he was years ago if not even more so. The bottom line for why Dr. Marlin's final product looks so good is a combination of his state of the art in house lab, his expert prosthetic lab designer (I forgot his name), and Dr. Marlin's perfectionism. read more

When I was 15, I had a bike accident and broke my front two teeth. Since then I've been struggling to find a solution. Dr Marlin have placed 10 crowns on my upper arch in 2018. I have to wear temporary bridge for 4 months and a half, because my crowns were not ready (I think they postponed me in favor of other patients). The doctor prepared for me an implant crown that had a completely different angle compared to my other teeth. When I refused to accept it, he raised his voice at me. On my next visit he made me wait in a dentist chair for 1 hour. Finally, when all crowns were placed, one of them was gray. He redid it twice (second time I paid for it). Recently, Dr. Marlin restored my entire top row of teeth with porcelain crowns. I had weak, damaged teeth. I constantly worried about teeth breaking and was self conscious about my smile. When my regular dentist informed me that my teeth were be in jeopardy because of extreme bone loss and that I would some day need implants, I began my search for the perfect dentist to do the job. Scouring the internet, I happened upon the reviews for a Dr. Gerald Marlin outside of Washington DC. Although it was over 100 miles away, I was so impressed with the reviews for Dr. Marlin that I decided to do additional research and came to understand that he had such expertise in the field that attorneys sought him out for his expert opinion in dental malpractice cases. So I decided to make an appointment and was totally impressed with everything I saw; the staff, the technical equipment, but most of all, Dr. Marlin himself. From our first consultation he made me feel at ease with a process that is very intimidating, and in my case, very complicated. Unlike what some other assembly line implant offices may have done, he advised that I needed bone grafts and healing time before any implants could even be installed. He explained each phase of the process and would not put time frames on any of the processes because his priority was that each one be completed successfully before we moved forward. Well, fast forward two years and the journey is now complete. No real negatives to report, although I must admit I'm not a big fan of the needles that are necessary along the way. I can now eat all the foods I used to eat, feel comfortable when I'm out at a restaurant, not have to have my lovely wife watch me take my teeth out every night and put them in a container next to the bed, and most of all, I can look into the mirror each day and see that same guy I used to know just a few years ago. read more
