I was in an accident last year, and GEICO recommended that I bring my car here for repairs. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a body shop. From the beginning, there were problems with the repairs. My hood wouldn't close properly, and one of my sensors repeatedly fell out, forcing me to bring the car back numerous times. A few months later, the paint on my bumper started peeling. At that point, I took my car to a different body shop for an evaluation. They told me the bumper had never been properly sanded before it was painted, which explained why the paint was peeling. I ended up having to pay another $1,000 out of pocket to have their work redone correctly. Between the repeated trips back, poor workmanship, and the additional money I had to spend fixing their mistakes, I would absolutely not recommend this body shop. Absolutely shocking customer care. Original estimation completion date of 6/10/25. Gets pushed back to 13th with no explantation. Gets pushed back to 16th with no explanation so I make a phone call. They state their machine is down and now it will actually be done on the 20th at the fastest. I inquired about them covering the costs of my rental for the extension as it's an equipment failure on their end and I was told there is nothing to be done. Seems the standards are held to a very low level here. If they can't do the small things right you know the big things are far out of reach. 5 STARS from start to finish for this FULL-SERVICE AUTO BODY SHOP that offers free repair estimates & provides a National Lifetime Guarantee on its work for as long as you own the vehicle. Gerber directly bills insurance companies & offers deductible financing. The other area repair company my insurance company referred me to never returned my phone call. Thankfully, Gerber did. And my SUV was inspected within days. Upon arrival, I was asked to accompany the friendly appraiser to my vehicle; together we inspected the damage to my bumper & examined the entire exterior noting any irregularities. (The thorough inspection protected Gerber from possible erroneous claims & protected me, the client, should Gerber inadvertently cause damage to my vehicle while in its care.) I was given an estimate, but told that amount could change depending on what was found once the damaged bumper was removed. Manager Shelley & Appraiser Lisa were absolutely WONDERFUL, & receptionist Renée was friendly & reliable. Not only was the necessary vehicle repair work explained & all my questions answered, their suggestions aided me in securing a North Tampa Hertz rental when my only other option was expensive Audi. (I am banned from unprofessional & dishonest Enterprise-- see my review:) While my RAV4 was in Gerber's care, I received regular phone texts updating me on the repair work along w/ the probable completion date. I was subsequently phoned & notified of necessary additional parts & the expected increase in price. The repairs were completed a day early. Upon retrieving my vehicle, the office manager showed me computer images of the actual hidden damage to my frame (i.e. what was found once the bumper had been removed). All my questions were answered, I paid, & I received my keys. Staff then phoned Hertz for me & took possession of my rental key, so Hertz could retrieve the vehicle directly from Gerber. I exited w/ an itemized bill. My SUV had not only been repaired well & timely, the interior had been thoroughly vacuumed & the exterior washed. Even my wheel frames were cleaned well. W0W-- Very Nice! From the start of the repair process, I had been kept current on what my fiscal expenses would be. Service was beyond reproach. And my vehicle front looks great! I have ZERO COMPLAINTS. My ENTIRE EXPERIENCE w/ Gerber was EXCELLENT & I could not be more satisfied. As for the actual building, Gerber is located behind Dollar General on Wesley Chapel Blvd. Operating hours are 8 AM to 5 PM weekdays. It is best to phone rather than walk in off the street. Before you enter the building from the generous parking lot, take note of the single car wash stall to your right. Gerber's inside lobby is clean-- see pics. There's available (& free) coffee, as well as bottled water from a refrigerated case. One large TV occupies space beside the check-in/ checkout counter. The manager & the apraiser each have a large glass window overlooking the lobby entrance-- they're readily available to greet anyone who walks thru the front door. I am thrilled USAA contracts w/ Gerber (should my vehicle ever be involved in another accident.) There is nothing about Gerber not to praise-- just a PHENOMENAL auto body & glass repair shop! I went online to find a body shop near me and Gerber came up in the search. They offered an online appointment option so I took it, making one for this afternoon. Apparently the online appointment is a farce, since they called and canceled this morning, offering an appointment instead that is a month out. I canceled other appointments so I could make this one. I don't know how good their work is and at this point I don't care. If you use this online appointment setter then you should honor the appointment. To whom it may concern, I took my 2021 Audi RS5 to Gerber for repair. The car was repaired incorrectly. Their right front fender was replaced. The windshield wiper fluid worked correctly before the "repair". No the there is a warning light. When you add fluid it drains directly to the ground. Based on the Gerber representative took it to the Audi dealer in Naperville, Il to be checked. The windshield wiper tank was not hooked up to anything. This requires a tear down of the front right fender to diagnose and fix. Both rims on the right side of the vehicle were damaged and replaced. The front right tire was missing the lug nut caps. Again incomplete repairs. When the car was brought in for the estimate the front right seat was not functioning, this was highlighted during the estimate and I made a point to say I wanted the seat fixed. The Gerber representative failed to communicate that this was not part of the repair (He did not include it) and would not be addressed. However the Gerber Pontiac did fix the Airbag warning on the front right seat. Fixing one problem with the seat but not the other really does not make any sense to a non-mechanic. I brought the car to Gerber based on a promise that they could get the car repaired correctly and in a timely fashion. The car was promised to be back before 25 Dec 2022. It was returned with poor/incomplete repairs on 30 Dec. The biggest issue was with Gerber failing to communicate that they could not complete the repairs correctly and in a timely manner. I have called the customer service line multiple times only to be transferred to voice mail. Additionally drove the car back to Gerber in Pontiac Il on 3 Jan 2023 and all of my concerns were ignored. There does not appear to be a guarantee of work from Gerber so this amounts to false advertising. read more

The pickup time changed every time I asked, which would have been manageable if communication had been initiated by the shop to keep me informed. Instead, I was never let know about the change until I called and bothered the shop multiple times, and rarely called back after I called asking. I had to chase the shop for updates and it was very stressful. When I got my car back it's making a weird noise when I accelerate. Shop says it's normal. It's not, that's not normal, now I have to spend more time getting it somewhere else to get it looked at because they thinking odd clucking during acceleration is normal. Would not recommend! I called today to have my brand new Lexus to be repaired and I was informed that there would be no availability until January. That's 5 months from now. Gerber collision wasted my time and gas having me come down to their shop for an estimate without informing me that the repair dates were so far out. I have had problems with this company in the past and now I can say with certainty that this is not a good business to work with. As I'm 26 years old I can say they've LOST a lifetime customer. Connie had an extremely off putting demeanor throughout the entire interaction - both on the phone and in person. It seemed like she didn't even want to deal with my car issues regardless of the welcoming vibe I continued to have. They also didn't fix my car correctly so when I called back she was still extremely rude and didn't mention to anyone that I needed it fixed. I had to call again the next day and found out it was never brought up. There was a woman that dealt with my inspection that was SUPER nice though and more than happy to deal with all of my issues, I couldn't get her name but she was absolutely outstanding. read more

The insurance of the person who hit me took care of everything. We had excellent customer service from Seth and Mindy when we brought in my elderly mother's van. The initial estimate was to get the car driveable as soon as possible, and then come back for body repair some time in May, because of the possible delay in getting the parts. They were kind and professional, and helped mom through the insurance process, and even drove us home. We were thrilled when, just about 2 weeks later, they called and said we could pick up the van. I was expecting it to just be drivable, but the entire job was finished! They did flawless work on the repair and paint matching is excellent. The mechanical work also seems to be thoroughly done. We are very pleased with the whole experience, and would definitely recommend the Newburgh, IN location to anyone in the Evansville area. read more

The Gerber Collision Center in Merritt Island Florida failed to notice the damage to my right rear quarter panel when they performed their repair estimate after my car got rear-ended. So, when I took my car to a collision center I trust, their estimate was almost 200% higher ($5181 vs. $1,839). Now I'm battling with my insurance company to get them to make up the $3,342 difference, so I can get ALL of my car properly repaired. I understand any collision collision center may find additional damage when they start pulling off the broken pieces, but isn't it their job to notice and document ALL visible damage initially? read more

Gerber was a USAA "approved provider" at the time of my auto accident on 1/13/22. Repair work had to be redone twice - once for bondo work issues (contour lines didn't match the opposite side) and once for paint blemishes. Took months to get the car back and all seemed to be OK until I got an oil change - the 2 front tires had been completely chewed up. When I went back to Gerber, they found nothing wrong. I then went to an alignment shop and the left front ball joint was completely loose (causing the extreme tire wear). In the accident, Gerber repaired the right front side of the suspension - they told me the accident didn't cause the damage to the left front ball joint and I would have to pay for it. Too coincidental especially since I heard a frequent clunking sound on the left front side in the days and weeks after I picked up my car from Gerber. Fortunately USAA agreed with me instantly and set me up with Caliber Collusion to finish the work. Apparently Gerber is no longer an approved USAA provider - not surprising to me given the issues I had with them (likely I was not the only less than impressed customer). While this is a negative review for Gerber, it is a very positive review for USAA. read more

We drove over and Gerber would not do an estimate or look at car without an appointment and could not care less, about the loss of potential business. This is the most disorganized, unprofessional car repair business I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. They called me for appointments to check on progress, I would arrive and the car was at another facility and the staff on site had no idea who called me. After this they'd text me that my car was done, then I'd learn my car was not done. You will get phone call after phone call to survey you about your experience, but when I asked them to call me back to answer a question, they would not call me back. They told me I could pick my car up on Saturday, and I got there and was angrily told by a staff member that they don't do pickups on Saturday. They left my car dirty on the inside, and did not fix everything. Four times I was told to come in, when there was no reason for me to come in. Do not take your car here. Look at the other reviews, you will see a theme. I wish I had read the other reviews and listened to them. Avoid, avoid, avoid. read more

Second location took some laquor and a rag, rubbed out the marks and it looks good as new. WOW we were stunned. Didn't even want any money! BEWARE. Either Gerber is incompetent or outright rip offs. Gerber needs to wake up and do something about their employees, beginning with the office personnel. They are detrimental to this shop and will make it fail. Our insurance sent us here for a claim. I am giving them 2 stars due to the following. Our assigned office guy is NOT a people person. He is not good about calling you to let you know the status of your car or that it will be a day late and he doesn't even get up to greet you at the office unless he HAS to. He sent me emails to avoid having to use the phone. He let's the sweet receptionist do all that and acts like he can't be bothered. I am giving them 2 stars because they did a decent job I thought until I looked close there was a flaw in the paint ( I had to insist to Steve C that it COULD NOT be buffed out and he got the shop manager that was very nice and apologetic) that I had to return the car for BUT they did pay for me to have a rental car during that time (2nd trip). Once again though Steve C just sat in his office each time I came in and let the very nice receptionist do all the work. He didn't even walk me out to make sure I was happy with the way they fixed the mistake they made the first time...Get a PEOPLE person like the receptionist and replace this guy..better yet give the receptionist HIS job...she would be much better at it. read more

I took my car to Gerber after being in an accident. From the moment I arrived I was very pleased. Not only was I met by a member of their team, Derek, but he stayed with me until I left. I was checked in and informed on what repairs were going to done and how long it would take. They contacted and arranged for the rental car company to come and pick me up. I left my car on a Thursday and it was back with me on Tuesday. While they had my car I was kept informed on the status of the repairs and costs. When I went to pick it up they had washed and cleaned the interior of the vehicle as well as doing a great job on the repairs. It is great to see a company with the quality of service and professionalism that they provided me. I hope that I don't have to use them again but if I am in another accident this the company and service people I'm taking my vehicle to. read more

Think again before considering gerber. My suv was struck by cargo from a moving truck and it shattered my winshield , punctured my hood and bumper and broke my rim. My car was in their shop for 3 months. When I went to pick it up it had 3 inches of standing water on the floor board and the headliner was ruined. My hood isnt aligned because it's all aftermarket even though the insurance specifically told them to order oem parts. They put the aftermarket on anyways. Recently a rubber seal they installed became loose around my bumper panel and now they claim they never replaced it. It was replaced when I got a new bumper. Now I have to pay someone else to rip it all off and replace it. My suggestion go someplace else . Go to your car manufactures body shop. This place is a joke. read more
