You will find all the Americana you want, but I was more focused in finding something in the menu that was not a giant burger. I choose the fish salad and seemed to be the German version of the fish and chips. I love the fried here, especially the rustic style. Maybe they grow them in the huge field outside? For the locals, seems to be pretty popular among the biker community. I would have not known or gone to this area unless was work related, so it was ok for me.

The setting: Located in a bucolic area, surrounded by farms…read moreand orchards, this place used to be a barn, but has been renovated years ago, to make it look like a road stop - hence its name. The inside: Rustic, quaint and all dark timber. Complete with US memorabilia and old signs, vintage license plates, old school fluorescent beer signs and advertising and an old gas pump. The food: Used to be better. Back in the days when this was one of the only burger places in town. Or, quite possibly I've just outgrown the frozen standard patty and am expecting a little bit more for a burger that sets you back between €8-12. To give you an example: They serve these standard sesame buns that you can get in bulk at discount retailers. My dad ordered their Sea Burger (or whatever it was called) and it was fish in a batter, a sad tomato, some lettuce and no sauce or extra seasoning. Yeah. Call that a dry burger - it was completely lacking any originality or love. I had their signature Road Stop Burger and they used to be more generous with the baked beans if I remember correctly. The patty must have shrunk over the years and it seemed lost in an oversized bun - the last remnant and witness of a better, more plentiful past. In general this burger gave the impression that it's lacking something - probably more generous toppings and some fresh, ground beef. And if that's too much to ask for - at least fix the toppings. So ... nothing that knocks your socks off. Don't get me wrong - I still kinda like this place. If only for their large Biergarten (which can be packed during sunny periods) and their unique atmosphere inside. So back to the burgers - I can't get rid of the impression that they've streamlined and downsized their food (in size and quality) to increase profitability and maximize profits - resulting in decreased quality. This is always a bad sign and prelude to 'I won't frequent this place anymore'. Same with the starter platter - onion rings, jalapeno poppers, chicken nuggets, tortilla chips - none of it seems home made. It's all frozen food, pretty bland, fried and served on a platter with a generic dip. Oh, that's so 90s. If you're looking for a more unique starter, try the pretty decent tortilla chicken BBQ bowl. The service: Is usually swift and friendly, however nothing that would set this place apart. The verdict / TL;DR: You can still enjoy a nice bottle of beer (they serve Miller - I guess it's what they consider American beer), or Snapple. All in a relaxed atmosphere and unique setting. If you're a biker, you'll meet lots of like minded people. Mind the evening rush though, this place gets packed. Food wise: I cannot recommend the burgers anymore, at least not if you're looking for quality food at a fair price. In that case: Don't put up with a nothingburger and head to one of the fine burger locations in nearby Düsseldorf.

Die Kellnerin, die die Bestellung genommen hat, war warum immer sehr wütend. Nachdem wir unser Essen und Getränke bestellt hatten,hat mein Hustenanfall begonnen. Aus diesem Grund holte ich mein Wasser aus meiner Tasche, trank einen Schluck und reichte es meinem Mann, damit er die Flasche in die Tasche wieder rein legen konnte. In diesem Zeitpunkt ist der Oberkellner mit voller Wut aus dem Restaurant gekommen und hat sehr laut und wütend einen Befehl gegeben. " Flasche weg!" Sie dürfen hier von draußen nix trinken" .Obwohl mein Mann sehr höflich sagte, dass ich Husten habe und deshalb Wasser trinken müsste und wir bereits Getränke bestellt hatten aber noch nicht bekommen haben, befahl er ein zweites Mal uns sehr laut, die Flasche wegzunehmen! Trotz dieser Respektlosigkeit sind wir ruhig geblieben und auf unsere Getränke gewartet und trotz meines Hustens habe ich nichts getrunken, da es vom Oberkellner verboten wurde! Nachdem unsere Getränke kamen und wir gegessen hatten, warteten wir lange darauf, dass der Kellner für die Bezahlung kommt. Da niemand kam, bin ich ins Restaurant gegangen, um zu bezahlen. Als Oberkellner mich im Restaurant gesehen hat, sagte er wieder sehr unhöflich und laut: "Setz dich!, ich schicke euch den Kellner". :\ Ich gehe normalerweise ins Restaurant nicht schlecht behandelt zu werden, sondern was gutes zu essen, trinken und ein bisschen Zeit draußen zu genießen. Niemand erwartet eine besonders nette oder freundliche Bedienung von den Kellnern aber auch Niemand hat so einen Recht, jemanden und besonders die Gäste im Restaurant ohne Grund so ärgerlich, unhöflich und respektlos zu verhalten, nur weil er Oberkellner ist! Wenn Sie nicht zu den Menschen gehören, die Missbrauch besonders genießen, empfehle ich Ihnen, nicht in dieses Restaurant zu gehen und Ihr Geld da zu verschwenden. Es gibt natürlich viele andere gute Restaurants in Aachen, die sie von Besitzer bis zum allen Kellnern, ihre Gäste jeder Zeit respektvoll und höflich bedienen.

American food is what you will find here so I wanted to get a burger and see how it compares to the others I have had here in Cologne. With purchase of a burger you get fries and "salad". The fries are alright kinda small with no so many of them. They did have good kinds of ketchup like pepper ketchup and jalapeño ketchup. Also good hot sauces like chipotle, jalapeño and habanero. The salad is literally a piece of lettuce, a tomato, onion and two pickles but they are for your burgers not a real salad. You also get 4 pieces of bread with a good garlic sauce and like 10 olives which was nice. I ordered the Country Burger which is a basic burger with bacon, Canadian bacon and a sunny side up egg. I thought this sounded really good but also the other burger choices were a little boring typical American burgers. The Country Burger was good but quite greasy. The Canadian bacon was no good at all so I didn't eat it. But the burger had good taste but it was missing something. All that for 11.50€

The ribs was a good portion but the chicken wings were all too small (12 pieces as also written on the menu). The taste was just okey. The barbeque sauce saved the dish, but for people who do not like the said sauce -- do NOT order this & this is not for you. My husband ordered a burger for himself, but he was left disappointed. The portion is okey but there is nothing special about the taste. Sadly, he felt he can do a better burger at home. For their pricey menu, we expected more. The service was just okey until we wanted to pay the bill. The waitress totally forgot us! As we waited, we recognize the family table sitting next to us already finish their meal when one of the order finally arrived (it was a burger). The family by this time refuse it. Sorry, but for someone just visiting the city, we do not see ourselves coming back to this restaurant in the near future.
