Brought in 2011 BMW 528i for door locking and unlocking issue on Monday. Tuesday get a call saying that they now need to do electrical diagnosis so instead of the 160 I initially agreed too its a 500 diagnosis I agree. Weds. Comes i call no answer. So I go by she says I was working on your estimate tells me car is in shop but its not its outside. So she says he worked on it last night. My problem is its 1pm next day and yall don't answer phone, when I come by want me to wait 10 or 15 minutes for her do do estimate. Car is in exact shape it was when I brought it in and outside with the 100s of other cars they have. I was lied to by the lady behind the counter so from that point Im done with them. If u like to waste your time and money then this is place for you. If you prefer communication, and honesty avoid this place. read more

They have had my car for a week. It just needed an ignition switch. They refuse to answer my calls or call me back.

They had my brother's vehicle for almost a year. At some point they cracked the windshield and will not replace it.

Had to take my car three times for the same problem and they never fixed the issue. My engine light keep coming on and told me if it wasn't red don't worry about. They use to have excellent service but not so much anymore. Not sure what has happened but I won't go back. read more

I brought my audi s5 for a transmission fuild change that's all I wanted and they did that and then I needed a slave cylinder replacement? Okay now im worried they might fuck my shit up so I say go ahead . 900 dollars later I get a phone call and my car is ready to pick up. I got there and my car was fucked couldn't put it in to gear. They said it's the clutch and gave me a 7,000 dollar quote. I knew my clutch was worn-out but not dead yet there was still clutch play when I got the car there for a transmission fuild change. They say turn off the car put it in first gear and go. Wtf! Don't use them. I got home and recheck their work and they left all the nuts loose didn't even torque them down. They been in business 30+ years that means their father was great mechanics not them. If y'all looking for a decent mechanic in Jonesboro sorry y'all shit outta luck their all fucking Crooks. I voice my opinion to the Manager and let them know how disappointed in the labor prices. Instead of giving one total labor price. They charge a labor price for each and every little thing they did. We asked them to order a new key pod and when we went back to pick it up after 2 weeks, they informed us they didn't order the key pod because their coding machine was down. With the outrageous labor that they charge, you would think they could either buy a new coding machine or get their old one fixed. read more

I will simply cut to the chase. These guys ARE NOT good. My Jaguar repairs after four weeks and 1600 bucks were fruitless. They did not correct problems, charged for work claimed done and didnt fix minor things I requested. Dont waste your money and time at this bush league money pit. read more

If you're just looking for routine maintenance, this might be your place. As far as anything beyond that, they are completely helpless. 6 weeks and $5K later they had to boost our BMW Roadster twice to get it off parking lot just to drive it to our regular garage. Never felt more ripped off in my life. I had a car that I drove into German Auto Tech of Jonesboro Arkansas, 6 weeks & $5,000 later they had to boost it twice to get it off the parking lot. Could've just set fire to a $100 bill everyday it was there, gone back and got my car, and in my own opinion, I'd have the same results. Any doubts to my review, just ask, I've got the receipts & video of the employee walking out with portable battery, boosting it, starting it, then having to reboost it when it died. Nothing but the truth, even they cannot deny it. They are smooth talkers at the desk, wonderful front door impression. But where it counts, back in the mechanic bays.... the skill level drops to shadetree mechanic. I wouldn't recommend under any circumstances, because if you do business with any business and there's some shady stuff going on in one part, there's usually shady all over the place. Very disappointed. So much that this is my first Yelp review ever. But the public deserves to know the truth. Vengeance review? Not even a consideration. They were paid in full for the work they claimed was done on the spot. $5K is alot of money to spend and get an incomplete and incompetent job done. I took my 1999 BMW Z3 here because of a short somewhere between the light switch and the lights causing the lights to stay on when the car is turned off and draining the battery. I also asked them to fix my passenger seat which slides a little when the brakes are applied. I asked them to make sure and unhook the battery when they turned the car off. They had my car for 7 or 8 weeks without any communication. I told them I needed to pick it up on a Friday and they said it would be ready. When I picked it up neither problem had been fixed. I took it back and the next time I called they told me they had to put a new battery on it because it became completely dead, I'm sure it was because they didn't detach the lead. Another few weeks passed with no progress, and over $650 dollars later, I still have the same problems I started with. They are friendly people but that only goes so far when you pay money for basically nothing. read more

I'd never consider using these guys for any work whatsoever. They installed a clutch in my Jetta and a few months later it started making noise. As it turns out when they replace the clutch and flywheel they didn't replace the throughout bearing (the VW dealer says that the throughout bearing should always be replaced regardless)...I took the car back to GAT and they wanted another $1500 to remove the transmission again to access the throughout bearing-- and said I should have asked them to replace it. Really%^&*(9 Six months later, and feeling like maybe I should give these jokers another chance, I asked them to replace my cabin air filter. Guess what....a couple weeks later the heater fan started making terrible noises. I took my Jetta to GAT and they said that the blower motor and squirrel cage (the fan portion of the blower motor unit) must have failed....a coincidence. They said they wouldn't cover any repairs etc etc and the parts DO fail. Okay, so I took the car to the VW dealer. They removed the blower motor and fixed the noise. The dealer said that whomever changed the filter wasn't very careful. They thought that either screws fell into the blower during the filter change or that these screws backed out (because they weren't tightened), causing the horrible noise. So parts didn't fail GAT did. The story doesn't end, just today the super-duper fantastic battery the GAT sold me, $210 72month battery, failed after a couple of years. GAT up-sold me (prior to any of the other work) to a non-VW battery that's "better than anything that comes from VW". Not so much...the battery retailer doesn't even carry the battery any more. Net-net shoddy work, up-sell of parts to increase billing and won't stand behind their work. I don't trust these guys and I'm not the only one around town, from what I hear, that has had a very poor experience. read more

We bought a Mercedes 2008 E320 in June 2016 and drove it from Irving Texas to Newport Arkansas - beautiful ride. Got an oil change and new tires at Sears in Jonesboro ( June) where they told us we needed to have a fuel injector checked out. Took the car to German Auto Tech, Jonesboro Ar and they put in a new fuel injector for $1006.00 ( July 2016). On the drive home, car started spewing disel fuel. Cost us over $250.00 to have the car towed back to German Auto tech, where they hooked up the fuel line and didn't charge us. Said if it happened again we should get a new fuel line! They 'washed' the engine real good they said. The check engine light came on so we took the car to a local garage for diagnostics and were told that the emissions sensor was coding. We thought it was probably due to German Auto Tech not hooking up the fuel line and eventually the light went out. In September on a trip back from my sons wedding in St Louis, the dashboard gages went crazy so we pulled into a quick shop. We got stuck in the tiny town for several hours. The car would not start. Our insurance covered towing but only $100. After 3 hours the car started and we got it home. Had it towed to Memphis Mercedes dealership service station. Apparently moisture had gotten into the computer gateway causing the dials to go nuts. Moisture had been there for a couple of months to cause the reaction we were told. So to date, that trip to German Auto Tech in Jonesboro has cost us a fortune. Never again !!!!!! read more
