Came for the pretzel bread and left with a new local favorite. I had a craving for fresh pretzel bread and came across this place online. I have set the bar pretty high as far as authenticity is concerned and this business is fantastic. I used to live near a factory for a franchise of German bakeries in Upper Bayern that I frequented weekly for years. It featured the best of the best as far as the most ridiculous spread of desserts you could imagine. This bakery has done a fantastic job with the quality of it's products. We went to a friend last month and they had gotten several varieties of pastries for dessert, all of which were very good. When they visited us my husband also went there and got a selection which included Black Forest Roll, Pudding Crumb and a couple of Cinnamon Sticks. My favorite is the Pudding Crumb. The sizes of the pasties are large enough to cut them in half or even quarters so everyone can taste a little of each. Pretzels are also great. read more

This Bakery is excellent! I went once for soft pretzels and got some croissants because they looked delicious. I saw they had Appel Strudel so I tried one as well. Everything was wonderful and the woman who helped me was very nice. I went back again a few days later, on Sunday, and they were quite busy but, never the less, I was greeted when I came in and they were happy to help. I got some more desserts to try this time. O.....M.....G.....I wasn't expecting this simple looking "Nougat Ring" to be so delicious .The flavor and different textures make for an addicting dessert . I will certainly be going back for more of those. I tried the Rum Balls because I heard a lot of good about them, for good reason. They ARE delic! I also tried the Cheesecake, yeah, perfect German cheesecake. Loved it all! I'll be ordering from here for any occasion where high quality sweets are necessary (birthdays, holidays, office events, "thank you" gifts, etc). SO much better than your average cupcakes and cookies. I was helped by two different people this Sunday and both were friendly and warm. I will be trying their bread loaves next. I love local businesses, especially bakeries and this shop is a gem. The ladies that work here are so very nice and helpful. First trip I had to purchase the obligatory apple strudel, but what did I find next to up but cherry strudel. Both are so tasty, great quality and authentic. Another time I visited the nice lady mentioned the bee sting cake, and I was stung by this tasty treat. So nice and would go well with a nice coffee or tea. The last benefit it is very close to my home and a nice place to go a fun treat! Their bakery items are delicious as well. The dark rolls (unsure if they were pumpernickel or some other grain), but so tasty. They also have many German products (non-bakery) available which I saw many people came in and purchase. I LOVE this place. Just be mindful that for serious quality assurance and freshness they may not always have what you came in for....but that can afford you the chance at something new. Pretzels - in all their forms and Pigs Ears....remember those. But you want to save room for the Almond Coffee Cake or the Pudding Crumb Cake. I read the reviews on the Bakery and I have to say this is a fantastic place. As a german I can say, this place is authentic. The smell when you enter just makes you hungry. So far I tried the chocolate croissant, the NEW apricot danish, Cheese Danish, Pudding Pretzel/Danish, Cherry Danish, Blueberry Pudding, Apple Danish, Crunchy stick, Pretzelroll, -stick, and Pretzel, the rolls and different kind of bread and I have not been disappointed. The breads are fresh and tasty and the best is to store them in the freezer when they are sliced. The cakes are just wonderful aswell. The Blackforest, Jogurt Cake, Fruit Cake and Cherry Crumb are my favorite. Very delicous and not so sweet as the other cakes that you can buy in the grocery store. They have a new Item the Bullseye. Marzipan lovers this is a must for you to buy. A lot of Marzipan with a jam filling in the middle for just around $2. You can't beat that. Seating would be nice, but I don't think that customers would like to have them raise the price so you can sit outside. Everything is expensive here in Vegas and I can only image what high price they would have to pay to provide seating in- or outside. I also want to comment on the statement before. Everytime I get a cake, even the black forest cake, they put it in a paper bag, with a tray under the cake and I never had my cake smashed. The boxes are big and great if you get a couple items but for one cake? Maybe is was a misunderstanding, english-german barrier, because the staff is super friendly, helpful and patient. They got a lot of german food aswell, fresh meat and sausages. Someone mentioned check the exp date. Guys these items getting imported from Germany and have a long way ahead. We Germans are so happy to get some "deutsche Heimat' when we enter the store. Great place to get authentic german food. So stop by and get a little piece of Germany in Las Vegas. read more

Nice place clean and wonderful baked goods no doubt grandmas recipes however is taking a turn for the worst the slicer is so thin of a cut I defiantly don't recommend any sliced bread but the quality is awesome read more

I've popped my head in once or twice when we were in the area and we were defiantly impressed. I bought some pretzel rolls (The best of the pretzels they have) and accidentally ate them all when I got home. I am a regular here, since the day they opened. Love their breads and pastries, everything fresh, crunchy and yummie. I freeze the breads and rolls and enjoy the constant supply of good, fresh baked items for me and my family. I liked the place after their opening but lately I experienced a drop down in quality and some of their pastry is dropping down in size. Their rye bread is dry and I was sold a few times pastry clearly from the previous day (paying full price). So make sure you get the fresh stuff! Their Broetchen get more and more puffy - that is not how they are done in Germany (except if you get the cheap Broetchen from regular grocery stores). The food is great and I love that they use whole ingredients. However, I had hoped this would be my local bread store but they nickel and dime you literally. Doesn't make it feel like a local spot when they want to charge a nickel for an extra bag to regular customers. The is LITERALLY nickel and diming people and doesn't seem like a good business choice. Went here on a whim (July 5, 2011) after dropping off some shoes to be repaired a few doors down. I am a baked goods fiend and had heard of this bakery but kept forgetting to visit. I'm glad I did! The selection wasn't huge, as the holiday was the previous day, but what they did have looked fresh and homey. I bought a loaf of the 3-seed bread and it proved to be fresh and not full of sugar and other crap. The nice lady behind the counter said that they don't like to use a lot of sugar and that they like to keep things healthy (at least for their bread...). Value seemed pretty good as my very heavy loaf was ~$5.50. The bread is still fresh the day after purchase. I will come here again and often for the bread and to sample some pastries. read more

So As i was working out in my bootcamp class, my boyfriend went and got me a delicious pastry from this humble place. He got me the apple danish or pie looking thing. The bread actually tasted like how a good crossant would taste right out of an oven, soft chewy, buttery, and breddy,... not hard and too flakey like most danish and crossants. The apple inside tasted fresh and real and not gobbled up in apple sugar syrup. I tried to keep half of the danish for later since it was pretty large, but it was so yummy.. not too sweet.. just perfect... that i ate it all. We are always on the hunt for authentic European/German foods vs the Americanized versions. The meats we bought (landjaeger, wieners, and metwurst) were spot on in flavour though the landjaeger needed to be allowed to hang and dry for 3 days to reach the preferred consistency. The rye breads and Berliner were very good as well. However the only way to know the lemon roll was lemon was because the cream filling was 'yellow', and the pastry itself was powder dry. The bienenstich was the biggest disappointment - the glaze was 90% sugar and required a taste search for the honey - so the topping ended up being crispy instead of chewy. The dinner rolls had a nice and crispy crust and the right flavour of yeast but were nowhere even near the desired firm dough texture of a true 'broetchen'. read more

This place is a hidden neighborhood gem (literally). I shop at the Smith's store but never saw the bakery because their small sign is hidden by a tree! I found their baked goods very authentic and fresh. Michelle F., Brochen crust are always crumbly on the outside and yes, you have to eat them the same day they are made. I can't wait to take my friends and family to have kaffe und kuchen here! The almond horns and strudel are amazing! Delicious pastries especially the poppy-seed roll. I liked the pretzels which were a bit sour but seemed authentic. The beesting pastry was also very yummy, just wish there was more Bavarian cream. The sunflower bread was liked a lot by my bro-in-law, but sis, mom, and I weren't terribly fond. They should have samples to try the different breads so that we can find one we like. Overall, appreciate the mom-and-pop aspect to the shop instead of the dreaded chains and the yummy goodies didn't hurt either. read more

Quaint European bakery with an old world feel. We ordered a variety of pastries, lemon roll, almond twist, cherry strudel, chocolate croissant, cheese Danish, rum ball and chocolate coin - all were fresh and so good I'm sure they were baked with love. Disappointed there was no seating to enjoy our coffee and goodies although it seemed there was adequate space to accommodate some small tables and a few chairs. Also, the stiff coffee will put hair on your chest. I give the German Bakery 5-stars in spite of the coffee and lack of seating because our pastries were perfect. read more

I have been here several times. Always on Saturday mornings. I love it except that every time I get the Brochen, I am disappointed and had to throw them all away last week because they were very stale to point of not being able to cut them without crumbling. I realize that they are stored in the open air but even so, a few hours shouldn't make that much of a difference. Is it possible that Saturday's the items aren't baked fresh but leftover from the day before???? I'll have to take a vacation day to try during the week. :) Everything else is fantastic especially the Dark Rye Bread and deli meat but I really want good Brochen! read more
