Unbelievable. It has taken me 20 years since I left NJ to find a bagel as good as the ones I used to make at my hometown bagel shop! These bagels bring back so many memories! Crispy on the outside, soft and perfectly "fluffy" on the inside. Not too moist and not too dry. Not chewy where your jaw gets tired like from trying to eat a sponge. OMGosh, the amount of poppy and sesame seeds on each was a delight. In most places out here, you can't tell if a plain bagel got an accidental dusting of seeds or they skimp or don't know how to top them so the seeds stay on. If you have to take a drug test, don't eat a poppy, you might fail - they are loaded. Their pumpernickel too is OUTSTANDING. We will definitely be back! read more

Checked this place out on a Sunday morning as it was down the street from my son's soccer tournament. I was met with a long line when I walked in, so I assumed that it was a popular place probably served quality grub. But the long lines are really just due to bad logistics as they don't have a person dedicated to taking orders; the same person who takes your order has to go sliced bread or get whatever else you get besides a bagel (they got 2 guys toasting and prepping those. Ordered 2 bagels and a loaf of sourdough. Paid with a card and then was surprised to see a credit card fee on my receipt; not that big of a deal -but maybe a sign that says there is a fee - so that people would know they have the option of avoiding it by paying with cash - would be nice. Bagels were about $5 each with cream cheese and very mediocre; also so much smaller than any other bagel shop I've been to. Took a whole 15 minutes to get my 2 bagels and it's a good thing I checked my order before leaving as one that I ordered with tomatoes did not have them. Had to wait a little bit to get to the front of the line as I was not able to get anybody else's attention and then I let them know that the tomatoes were missing. Had to wait another 5 minutes for the replacement bagel and I think it would've been a nice concession for them to let me keep the bagel they messed up on, but this was not the case. Additionally, the other bagel I had ordered for my friend had gotten cold while I was waiting for the replacement for mine. The gentleman who was taking my order initially was apologetic and the staff is very nice, but man somebody needs to fix their processes because it just takes way too long to get a bagel to a customer. Sourdough was not that good. It's the first time I've brought home a fresh loaf to my kids and they haven't even touched it because it also looks weird. I've heard about this place for years. I don't splurge on bagels often but if I ever do, this is where I'm coming from now on! I stopped in to pick up food for a friend who is recovering from surgery. She really wanted a corn beef sandwich and raved about this place. When I came in, I was warmly greeted right away. I took some time to look at the menu to see what else they offered. It was not a cheat meal kind of day for me. Yes they did have salads, but I already had dinner at home waiting for me, so I'll have to try something for myself another time. What I was really impressed with was the cleanliness of the place, the friendliness of the staff and all of the delightful variety of bagels and baked goods behind the counter. They also had a fresh selection of deli meats and cheeses, and of course Schmear for your bagels. The gentleman who took my order could not have been nicer. Honestly shame on me for not getting his name, but he was friendly professional, and placed my order with ease. My friend's order was boxed up and ready to go within 10 minutes. I ordered a breakfast egg, bacon and cheese on a cheddar bagel.The staff was nice and the place was very clean. I felt welcomed when I walked in, they asked if I was ready. The food I didn't wait long at all probably 5 mins. Came wrapped in foil, was really hot and fresh. I was impressed since I only trusted Einstein. I wish I lived closer because this bagel sandwich was delicious. The egg wasn't burnt, the cheese was melted, the bagel had such good favor and butter. Perfect bagel breakfast! I got a cheddar bagel..toasted with butter. The outside was crisp-I mean CRISPY. Barely any discernible cheese flavor of any kind. The inside was soggy from the butter. This was not a good bagel. It was really just some boiled bread and baked. I also had a honey wheat bagel with egg and Swiss. It had some crunchiness to it and I was questioning if egg shells had made it into my sandwich. It had no taste to at all-I didn't even finish it. Things are too expensive to be bland and overdone and crunchy when there shouldn't be any crunchy at all. This was my first and last time trying this place. I did use Uber Eats to deliver it. It was very fast. My food was still warm but it was really disappointing. ***The owner manager did address my review right away. They have offered to refund me the money I spent which is good. We were in the area and finally got a chance to try them out in person. WORTH THE WAIT!!! 11:30 on a Friday morning. While there was a line at the counter to order, there was no problem getting a table (there are about 8 - some for 2 and some for 4). When your sandwich is ready, they bring the food to your table. The coffee is self serve. I ordered the ham, egg, and cheese sandwich ($7.65) with a small coffee ($4.58). My wife got the nova sandwich ($11.49) with a coffee. Each ordered on the pretzel bagel (your basic salt bagel really). Both sandwiches were really good. First off I was the one in the wrong by putting my order in at the wrong place on clover. However, I called numerous times to try and ask them to either cancel the order or wait to make it since I was on the other side of town. They would not answer! Horrible customer service. I just had to try this place, a friend of mine gave me a couple to try. I was tired of blah bagels everywhere. I arrived around 10 am, few customers were eating breakfast. I couldn't decide what variety of bagels to order, just so many to choose ftom. so I got 6 cinnamon raisin and one of each of the remaining to make up 14. The bagels are huge! I toasted the cinnamon Rasin this morning and slathered lots of butter on it. I can't even describe how outstanding the taste was. The following day all the bagels were as soft as when it was fresh. I froze all 14 of them for future use. I tried one of my favorite cookie of all times it caught my eye while looking in the case, Linzer Torte, was my choice to try. The filling was kind of gooey and the cookie itself, in my opinion, needed more sugar. By the way, they have Baily bagels which I will definitely try next time, its a Bagel with onions in the center. I was looking forward to coming here and trying out the bagels since I read somewhere it was one of the best bagel places in Vegas. It has been on my list of places to try out for a while now. So finally, I made it out to this part of town and had some time, so I made a stop here. The location is in a small plaza and is pretty basic. They have a huge selection of deli foods in addition to the bagels. But I came here specifically for a plain bagel with plain cream cheese, not toasted. The service was not bad. It was super busy and the wait in line was long, but they were doing the best they could. The lady who took my order at the counter was nice enough. She wrapped my bagel nicely and offered napkins, and she also offered a bag which I told her I didn't need. So far everything wasn't too bad at all. But most importantly, I was just excited to finally taste this long-awaited bagel! Except, it ended up being really disappointing, sadly. It was a huge letdown. The best bagels manage to strike a magical balance of crisp, chewy and full of flavor, but this was none of that. It was just like eating a dense, bready bun or something shaped like a bagel. And although I appreciated the idea behind the extreme amount of cream cheese (very generous), it was over-the-top and was just way too much. It was so much, it started making my stomach feel queasy half-way in. I ended up just tossing the second half of the bagel because it was all-in-all so disappointing. I'm not going to waste my carb reserve on something like this, that's for sure. It needs to be for something actually good! I was actually pretty surprised by all of this since I thought this was supposed to be one of the best bagel places in Vegas. It is not even close to the best bagels I've had, and I've had them all over the country, from coast to coast. If it weren't for the fact that this is literally a bagel place, I would've gone for four stars; after all, the service wasn't bad and the place was fine overall. But because it's literally called "Life's a Bagel", I had to give it an average 3 stars. If they can't make a decent bagel, they should rename the place. Was this just an off day? I'm not sure. Life's a Bagel is a New York-style, California-quality delicatessen located in Las Vegas. The only one, and I've been to every single deli in search of the best bagels in Las Vegas. I hate to sound like a bagel snob, but Life's a Bagel is hands down the best place to get your bagel fix for hundreds of miles around. Their rugelach and mixed cream cheese (Nova cream cheese in particular) are the very best. My granddaughter loved their cookies, so they must be good. And everything is reasonably priced. They also have a good variety of baked goods and tubs of different types of cream cheese. I would definitely recommend getting a bagel sandwich, probably to go, but they do have seating inside. I got a pretty basic sandwich and honestly, I was pretty impressed, the bagel was fresh and the price was great. I paid about $5.50 for a simple bagel sandwich with one egg and honestly, I was not disappointed. They do also serve fresh bread and have an array of different deli meats. You can choose for your sandwich. You can always get some bagels as is and go home and make your own sandwich as well. I didn't try their baked goods, but it did look pretty good, I'll have to give it a try next time. Overall, this is a great bagel shop and prices are reasonable. Been coming here for a couple of years, but it seems like there was a change in ownership and things have gone downhill. I was going in there once a week, always seeing the same employee faces and chit chatting, but now it's new employees every other week, having to retrain all of them is causing chaos. The food takes longer to come out, seeing a lot more mistakes happen and you can just see the employees running around looking a bit lost. The addition of mobile orders has also dramatically added to the chaos the employees must feel. I still go here once in a while to pick up some bagel, but I do it with the expectations that it's going to take a lot longer and I have to check my order before leaving. It's a problem here in Vegas and this place is right around the corner from me so thought I'd give it a shot. I ordered a chicken salad Sammy and matzo ball soup. Soup comes with a bagel. All of it had NO flavor - not even salt or pepper flavor. Chicken salad looked good but was absolutely bland. Same with the matzo ball soup. Bland and needs to be amped up a lot. I make my own at home so I know how to season...and this is not it. Place was busy but as expected the patrons here are right from Sun City retirement - so probably why they love bland food. Oh back to the bagels- they are bread like Italian bread. Not NYC style. The only semi decent bagel in Summerlin is Bagel Nook downtown...until I find another. Usually when me and my husband go to life's a bagel, everything is excellent. I have been sick for a couple days so I asked my husband to please bring me home some matzoh ball soup. Usually the soup is really good, but I guess don't order it in the summertime because the soup itself is not up to par. The broth was good but the vegetables and the chicken were overcooked like they've been sitting there for a long time. The vegetables are mushy or the chicken was dry. Staff has always been helpful and in good spirits. Bagels were classic New York style, obviously boiled before baking with the chewy texture they should have. Went Christmas Eve day this year to get a dozen. While they looked great, they were definitely not the same as in previous years. No chewy texture, just baked, and very similar to the ones you can pick up in a grocery store. Disappointed to say the least. read more
