Furious upon finding out when I switched pediatricians that my 2 year old, who I believed to be covered and caught up with all vaccinations by Whitcomb's office, was actually left behind on one important shot and had had another incorrectly timed (so needed to be done again). Even though I was always very clearly pro-science and pro protecting my child from preventable disease... and always opted for all shots "on time". For those who haven't read my earlier review: I recently moved to a new pediatrician's office after discovering Whitcomb has an unfortunate reputation among Omaha's more eccentric and scarily "crunchy" set as THE pediatrician to go to if you want someone who will be very understanding/lenient about irresponsible decisions to either delay vaccination or not vaccinate. Irresponsible meaning more based on "I think Jenny McCarthy is smarter than a doctor or medical researcher" and not based in actual medical fact or family history of vaccine reaction.

Dr. Whitcomb has been our son's doctor for over a year, and she has been a Godsend! She always…read moretakes time to answer our questions, doesn't make us feel rushed, and believes in informing parents to make the best possible decision. I've seen reviews about the wait, and I have waited myself, but every single time my son is given the time and attention that gives me confidence that we are truly getting answers and that the staff care about him. Dr Whitcomb, her PA Monica, and all the nurses take time to truly listen and look at everything they need to. I've had doctors that rush us through to get to the next patient, and I know they heard maybe 60% of what I said for that reason. I appreciate the care we receive here. It's well worth the wait and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

The nursing staff on the recovery floor were eager to help us learn how to take care of our first baby, as we are pretty much clueless! And, and many people noted to us, the food was very good. The only recommendation I would have is for some more proactive accommodations for the dads/support people who stay with the new mom and baby. Totally get that the mom and baby are the patients, but little things like having two towels in the bathroom instead of one, would go a long way in making their extended stay easier too.

I just decided it was time to get a real pediatrician and start going to an office specifically set up for children. And boy, do I recommend it. My biggest qualm with my old doc was her crusty old nurses and unpleasant front desk staff. You deal with those people as much as, if not more than the doctor, so it's important to like them. Nurses who specifically work with children are much friendlier and much better equipped to handle issues like meltdowns over shots. I chose the embassy park location because it was closest to where I lived at the time. I now live in Gretna and there is a CP location out here, but I love Dr. Smith so much that the drive is worth it. She was assigned to me at random, I think, when I first signed up as a new patient but she turned out to be great. Laid back, listens to you, isn't overly opinionated or judgmental of different parenting styles. She also referred us to a great child psychologist affiliated with Children's who practices in the same building once a week. It's nice to have a one-stop shop. They offer Children's Connect, an online service through which you can look up copies of your child's medical records, schedule appointments, get reminders, email the office staff about non-emergency issues, and best of all, fill out all of the repetitive family history paperwork ahead of time so you don't have to do it at the office. There are other great resources like breastfeeding consultants and financial counselors. My only complaint about this particular building is the parking. It's a tiny lot for a large building with multiple businesses. The spaces seem narrow and are awkwardly laid out and of course everyone drives large SUVs and vans and misjudges their vehicle size and often don't do such a neat job of parking...I've really had to squeeze in a couple of times. But that's really the only downside.

Our son (1 yo) had a double ear infection on a Sunday and they were able to see us within minutes of getting there. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The environment was extremely clean and taken care of. Jen was so friendly and good with our son. Made me feel like she was there for him and making him feel comfortable with being at the doctors office. It was also nice that she herself could empathize with our situation and giving such sound advice. Appreciate the time, friendliness and energy the staff put in on this weekend.

If I'm correct you should have to like helping people when you enter the medical field and not make the patient feel like a burden. The past few days I've been in excruciating pain and have been seen by two other doctors who unfortunately don't know what's causing my pain. I called Nebraska Medicine eagle run clinic about a half hour ago and was so offended by her attitude I am writing a review... When I explained what was going on to her and told her I've been to two different ERs and had the nastiest tone in her voice saying she didn't know what I was talking about and said she needed records of that. As if my pain isn't real. I'm really considering going somewhere else but I love my doctor. I'm really offended by this nurse. If she wasn't there I would praise this clinic with my whole being. I have had multiple extremely negative experiences at this facility, and the pattern has been both…read morefrustrating and unacceptable. First, there have been persistent and unresolved paperwork issues. The front desk repeatedly failed to provide my insurance company with the correct forms, forcing me into an exhausting back-and-forth between the insurance provider and the clinic. As a patient, I was left to manage problems that should have been handled competently by the office staff. Second, my experience with the billing department was equally troubling. Although I was making consistent weekly payments, I was told that I was not paying the remaining balance quickly enough. I was given an ultimatum: either pay the full balance immediately or they would stop providing my medically necessary injections. Holding medical treatment hostage despite active payment arrangements is both unethical and distressing for a patient. Another serious issue involved a clear bait-and-switch. I was led to believe that my required medical injection would be provided for a $15 fee. As soon as I paid the fee, they applied it toward my outstanding balance instead and then denied me the injection, directly contradicting what I had been told. Finally, after completing bloodwork, I was left completely without communication or explanation regarding my results. I called multiple times and left messages that went unanswered. Instead of receiving my results, I was sent a final notice for payment, stating that if I did not pay, the account would be sent to collections. I left a message clearly stating that I was more than willing to pay once my bloodwork results were explained to me--but once again, I received no response. Overall, this has been a deeply disappointing experience marked by poor communication, billing pressure, and a lack of basic patient care and accountability. Lack of communication regarding bloodwork results: After completing my blood panel, I received no follow-up or explanation of the results. Despite calling multiple times and leaving messages, I was ignored. Instead of providing medically relevant information, the office sent a final notice demanding payment and threatening to send the bill to collections. I left a message stating that I was willing to pay as soon as my bloodwork results were explained to me, yet no one has returned my call.

I believe I have never talked with "Jane" before this. Prior to these two phone calls I have experienced what every other person has experienced with the office help. Physicians have been awesome. I normally see Carmen, but have seen two others when he wasn't available. Just like all the other people on this review site, I waited 2 weeks for someone to call about my 6 month labs. No one called, told to log into portal, needed another two calls to get that figured out. Had more problems speaking to someone there and getting a nasty person on the other line. Told Carmen about this. Been going there for 20 years and if it weren't for Carmen, my entire family would stop going to Bellevue Family Practice in Bellevue. I pray that my experiences in the future are like the ones I experienced with Jane so I can come back to this site and give Bellevue Family Practice a much better review.
