I recently gave birth at Methodist via an induction, and I was very happy with the entire process. Between the nursing staff and my OBGYN, Dr. Gernhart, I felt like I was in good hands and appreciated the transparency and input I had with how my labor progressed. The nursing staff on the recovery floor were eager to help us learn how to take care of our first baby, as we are pretty much clueless! And, and many people noted to us, the food was very good. The only recommendation I would have is for some more proactive accommodations for the dads/support people who stay with the new mom and baby. Totally get that the mom and baby are the patients, but little things like having two towels in the bathroom instead of one, would go a long way in making their extended stay easier too. read more

I had a breast reduction done due to having severe neck and back pain. I saw Dr. Meyer who specializes in reductions and she was able to get my surgery on the schedule within 6 months of my consultation! She was wonderful, her team was wonderful, the nurses who helped me before and after surgery were absolutely amazing! I recently was an outpatient here and had a great experience! I had my tubes removed since I was ready to make sure my child bearing days were over. The nurses who cared for me during my stay were compassionate, funny and professional all bundled together in a beautiful professional environment of LOVE. My wife had a procedure done here and although it wasn't perfect, it seemed better than other local hospitals (by far!). Nice spacious rooms with updated amenities, caring and attentive staff, and pretty good food in the cafe for guests and patients. We loved our labor and delivery nurses, we were not impressed with postpartum nurses... they all were super rude and grouchy. My husband would ask various questions to understand and they did not seem to be very willing to educate. As well our one nurse essentially forced us to bath our child there for his first bath, insisting it was required when we know it's for sure not required. read more

The staff made my wife feel extremely comfortable during both of our kids' deliveries and all of her appointments have been on time with no issues whatsoever. And if you like being told "we had other patients" when literally the parking lot is empty as are the halls...except for staff of course! They have plenty of staff, but evidently they have other, better things to do than to help patients that are in the EMERGENCY ROOM because they felt their situation was an EMERGENCY! You would think a building as fancy and expensive as this could figure out how to make their 2nd floor mezzanine not run at 85 degrees from all the added heaters on the 1st floor lobby that is still cold. Exhausting waiting for a baby to be delivered and sweating the entire time. Most miserable lobby I've ever been in. Hotspots don't work well in other parts of the building so they most likely forgot to add DAS to it as well. read more

.I have had a great male OB at CHI for my first two pregnancies 14 & 16 yrs ago. Switched to a different one @ Methodist because my original OB was too booked.... IT. WAS. A. NIGHTMARE. The new OB was absolutely wonderful at first. Seemed intelligent and interested in my care, until my pap came back abnormal and then he seemed almost annoyed that my body wasn't this young healthy essel & needed some work. His demeanor towards me completely changed from excitement to dismissive. I had an IUD that was fused, when he tried to pull it out in the office (with NO pain meds), I cried and begged him to stop, he said "perhaps you should buy a new car instead of trying for a baby." I was mortified, my husband was so pissed off, but knew I needed to get this IUD removed and I had already gone through two surgeries with him. So I stayed with his services. I went in for my follow-ups and everything seemed fine with my body & the procedures. I ended up having to book a surgical procedure room to have the IUD removed. After the next follow-up, I discovered I was having an ectopic pregnancy, it wasnt a viable option, so I had to get two Chemo shots and go in every week to get my levels tested. The lack of empathy from this OB was nearly non-existent, the nurse looked and acted like she didn't want to be there. I was just another body to process. I decided I was going to go back to CHI and thank God my original OB was now available! I put in for my medical records and when reading through, He noted in the notes, "patient tolerated the procedure." And "strings lost." Because he was pulling so hard the strings came off, he was pulling so hard because it was fused & stuck.... and I tolerated the procedure? No, I did not..... I cried and begged for several minutes & he only stopped because I was sobbing, bleeding and shaking. I laid there wondering why the nurse didn't step in to even hold my hand or stop him. Isn't someone in the room supposed to be an advocate for the Patient? If not the doctor, not the nurse, then who?? I was being treated for cervical cancer, Had many surgeries to remove the cancer, but to save my cervix so I could try down the road to conceive, 2 attempt at the IUD removal (one failed) and it was the worst pain. 1 ectopic pregnancy. Now, thyroid disease. read more

I recently delivered my daughter at Methodist Women's and had a great experience. I felt well taken care of by my nurses and of course my OB as well. They were constantly checking in and making sure that I was good, as well as my baby once she arrived! BIG Kudos to my nurse Maggie who was spectacular, so glad to have gotten her as my nurse even if it was just for one shift, she was amazing and came to visit after baby was born. The sweetest gesture! As well as my first nurse Rachel, she was amazing as well! I also saw Dr. Bonebrake for my weekly appts prior to delivery, he was nothing short of amazing! He knew what he was talking about, explained everything in full detail, answered all of our questions and all in all was a very genuine soul! Very thankful! read more

This hospital is really top notch, provided excellent care to my baby and I. It is a beautiful facility with wonderful nurses and doctors. The facility is modern and clean. Everyone was nice there, from the greeters to the cafeteria workers. I had a complicated delivery and my son was in the NICU there for 10 days. We loved ALL of the nurses in the NICU...amazing! As a new mom, I felt comfortable having my son in their care. The nurses in the Post-partum unit were also very caring and understanding while I had my son in the NICU. They were very accommodating and understood the importance of me being in the NICU with him as much as possible. Now onto the food...it is GOOD food for a hospital and very reasonable prices. If you are a patient, you can order at any time of the day. Their food is so good and their snacks are great too. Try the RICE KRISPIE treats! Those are a must. read more

Went in to er. Complain of real bad body aches... feels like I got hit by a truck.... they took me in side room swabs my nose for covid and told me to wait in lobby... I sat there for an hour. And seen people go in the back fast I went up and said I am confused not sure why possible covid case is sitting in lobby I thi k its cause I am not vaccinated... its really stupid to have someone sit in lobby expose other people to covid an hour I waited in the emergency room lobby and guess what I have covid.... you guys need to figure that out i will be contacting the cdc cause people need to be in a room not with others read more

After requesting an ultrasound after a positive pregnancy test, and very high abnormal labs that I know would affect the pregnancy, I was told I couldn't get an appointment until after 8 weeks (I am irregular so I told them I could be farther along) and before seeing a doctor or nurse they wanted more labs to confirm pregnancy, again. Which I had already done, almost 4 weeks prior. They are difficult to get to answer the phone but messaged me back and forth for labs and to finally schedule an ultrasound. From what I assume, because I was not explained anything because there were "no doctors available" is that my baby stopped growing 2 weeks prior. The bereavement team were only there to discuss "my options" of removing the fetal tissue. They exchanged multiple messages with me about coming in for blood typing in case I bleed out at home and told me in messages "we know what you are going through." I understand the US tech can't discuss anything but I was never offered any explantation from the radiographer reading the US or a doctor to sit with me and explain anything on the Ultrasound. read more

What a terrible hospital. Choose them to birth our son, and nothing but problems. These providers are pushy, and borderline performing malpractice. Wife was being pushed one direction during a non emergency setting doing all they could to push an induction when not needed weeks early. Second we asked for 30-45 minutes to make a decision they naturally said they'd be unable too till the morning after coming back to the room later on to which I verbally said that was going to happen to begin with if we didn't bend the knee that moment to their manipulative practice. . Sorry but just because it didn't fit the exact moment you wanted it done, shouldn't equate to being pushed till the morning for it. Let alone your staff telling us legally you cannot induce that early unless certain criteria was met, to which it wasn't but yall felt the need to tell us to go walk the halls to get blood pressure to raise enough to induce to fit your needs and not ours. . If you want to feel like a number with no inclusivity and a walking atm printing them insane amounts of money for terrible service then this is the place for you. Left bathroom full of blood, didn't tell or explain how to operate the thermostat within the room, so freezing room. No blankets for the husband, plastic pillow to sleep on. Care quality was beyond repulsive, they do the bare minimum while taking the extreme maximum in rates. Then want to jump to attention when complaints start coming in from us, day late and a dollar short, I shouldn't have to direct your employees on their jobs. Thank god for a healthy son in the end, and thank you Methodist for absolutely ruining the birthing experience for my wife and I. read more

Just got home with our newest addition and wanted to Yelp about what a great experience it was to deliver at this hospital. This was our second child and this was a MUCH better experience than we had with our firstborn at another hospital (in another state). For starters, this hospital is really new with all sorts of bells and whistles. If you're thinking about having your baby here, check out the virtual tour on their website which points out all sorts of nifty features that are part of the design of this maternity ward. It has all the important things, fancy new medical equipment, and it's designed to feel hospitable like a hotel as much as it can considering it's the medical industry, not the hospitality industry. But they're clearly taking cues from the hospitality industry. Everything is nice looking and spacious. The important fancy medical equipment is all there, but it's tucked away behind clever panels so it doesn't look like such a hospital environment and the place is decorated more like a decent hotel. All of our visitors commented on how nice the place was, how spacious the room was, how nice the staff was, etc. I liked the 24/hr room service. My meals were part of the deal, and my husband had to pay a la carte for his but they were really cheap. Super convenient. The prices were not much different than fast food prices, and the food quality was pretty decent. Lots of made-to-order variety on the menu. Not prepackaged things like you would find at a gas station. They use Charley's Angels Photography instead of the usual baby mugshot photography services (like Our 365) so the pictures come out much cuter. Whatever you do, get a picture CD package, then you can have as many prints as you want made up along with the copyright release form. It's a little pricier than Our 365's services but they are a much better quality and totally fair in price compared to packages you would order at a portrait studio. The staff was absolutely great. The front desk staff, the cleaning girl, the room service people, the 24/7 in-house epidural staff, the nurses, even the residents who are still learning how to be real medical staff when they grow up. Everyone was great. There were a lot of things that needed to be done like tests and vitals checks, but the staff wasn't overly annoying in their frequency. With my firstborn at another hospital, I was ready to stab people with my pen by the time we left because they wouldn't stop poking at us long enough for us to get any sleep. At MWH, they only pestered us as often as necessary and they were quick to respond any time I called them with the push of a button. A lactation specialist showed up ready to be as helpful as I needed, but she didn't push herself on us or overstep any boundaries, she just let me decide how much of her help I wanted to take. She was great. Our whole experience was that way. Everyone was ready for anything we needed, but they respected our wishes on everything they could. They were all informative and ready to be of service and they were super friendly and not annoying at all. Thankfully, we did not need the services of the NICU but check out the virtual tour on that and see how well thought out it is. Also, we know one of the NICU nurses personally and so we feel very confident that if we ever needed a NICU, the one at MWH would do an excellent job. I wish my first L&D experience had been here instead. We left that maternity ward very cranky and annoyed at people, and that hospital was old and its age was showing. If I have any more kids, I'm coming back to MWH for sure. Super awesome job, everyone involved, all the way across the board. Would definitely recommend to anyone expecting. And if the maternity ward is any indication whatsoever of how the rest of the hospital is (they do more than just deliver babies) then I would expect they are awesome for other medical needs as well. read more

I cannot be any more impressed with or any more grateful for the teams at Women's Methodist. The care I received from early pregnancy through to delivery (all extra complicated by coronavirus), was thorough, consistent and complete. Everyone communicated with each other so I never felt out of the loop and they were great at answering our next question as we navigated this unfamiliar journey to parenthood. Our delivery was also complicated since I initially presented symptoms of a gall bladder attack. I was 38 weeks pregnant and in a lot of pain. All teams across the Methodist system moved quickly to develop a plan to protect baby and me. After delivery (and immediate gallbladder removal surgery), the nurses were so understanding and helpful as we adjusted to baby and I worked to recover. They are Godsends. Today, we have a healthy almost week-old baby girl and I'm on my way to feeling put back together again. Having access to all kinds of support like lactation consultants (even calling to check in with me), makes me feel like they have our back now and as we go forward! A nice, new hospital in BFE. Apparently, this is where all the babies in the area are now being born, which included my niece. Since it's so new, it's very clean and nice and modern on the inside, but still has that hospital feel (shudder), which can't be avoided. There's a Pitch Pizza nearby, so you can treat your fam cooped inside to some good food that's not from the hospital kitchen. read more

Service was great however DO NOT pay until your EOB is in your hand. They repeatedly ask you for payment prior to appointment and then the day with the advantage of 10% discount. I had a procedure done on the 7th of September and my responsibility was substantial much lower. I have contacted the billing office many time and even was told they would expedite it to get quick resolution, that contact was the 3rd and on Oct 7th. Still not action. I had to deal with my flex spending card since it locked up. I wonder if I didn't have problems with my card and got me involved I would had noticed. I have made all of the contacts. They are not to quick to get this resolved. read more

This has some unprofessional people on there and when I made a comment to the supervisor and said that your employee was acting on professional and borderline harassing us she defended her employee by saying that's not true we train our employees very well and they do their jobs very well disregarding everything I told them. Then when we went up there to try and figure out some information they brought security in and with no type of aggression or wrong tone or anything like that simply just asking questions the security guard physically grabbed me threw me in the elevator and proceeded to try and choke me out by grabbing me by the neck with the other security guard grabbing me by the neck and try to strangle me for no reason other than The fact that they could. I recommend nobody go there from any medical reason The staff there is extremely unprofessional and if they don't like what you say they will assault you physically and using excessive force that the police don't even use by trying to strangle me and when I told them that I couldn't breathe they said you'll be able to breathe outside. Attached are the physical damage that they did to my body and my neck I have been advised to not say more than this but for anybody that's ever looking to go there I highly advise that you stay away from any Methodist institutions especially the women's Methodist out there. read more

My spouse had in-patient surgery here, and the staff and facilities were top notch. Being a fairly new facility, it is clean, and was built with more of a 'hotel' type feel than your older 'sterile' looking hospitals of yore...You walk into the lobby with a floor to ceiling water feature, and the cafeteria has a fireplace in the dining area. While none of that directly benefits the patients, it certainly is a better environment to recover in, and a nice place for visiting friends and family members. The nurses and doctors were great. The nurses were all very friendly and attentive. While being in a hospital is never a wanted or necessarily good experience, this facility and its staff seem to be some of the best in Omaha, specializing in women. So while I may not be treated here, my spouse had great care and I was impressed with both staff and facilities. read more

I could not be happier with Women's Hospital. I went to Dr. Todd Lovgren for my first pregnancy. I was so nervous on so many levels and NOT ready to be a mom! He made me feel so comfortable and best of all, none of my questions were stupid. He made me feel excited each time I saw him and I felt like he really does care about his patients. He gave me his cell number and told me to call anytime. A couple times when he was unable to get me in and I had to use one of the other doctors, I noticed a HUGE difference! They rushed me through my appointment and I felt stupid and scared asking them anything. Dr. Lovgren is talented, compassionate, and an all around awesome guy. If I am ever pregnant again, he is definitely going to be my OB! The hospital itself was very nice and clean. Everything was very up to date, technologically speaking. I was having trouble with latching and everyone was incredibly friendly and understanding. I was in pain quite a bit and they were always on time with my medication. The food was actually really good! My husband choose to eat the food there versus going out! At the hospital, I really did get the impression they cared about me as a person. They always checked in how I was doing, offered to help in anyway possible, retrieved something extra if I needed it! Too bad my husband won't do this ;) read more

This was my first time at Methodist Women's Hospital. I had pelvic floor reconstruction surgery as a 23 hour observation patient. My doctor told me that I would be discharged the next day a few hours after lunch. The pre-op process was excellent. The Anesthesia provider was great and was able to accommodate my multiple allergies and need for specialized anesthesia. The OR staff was very efficient and professional. My experience changed dramatically once I entered the Recovery area. Once my spinal anesthesia started to wear off, I was in excruciating pain. The Recovery Room nurse told me that she had no orders for pain medication, so was unable to give me anything. I am a Surgical Pharmacist, so I know first hand, all the nurse needed to do was contact an anesthesiologist for pain medication orders. I heard my nurse tell her co-worker she did not want to get orders because it was nearing the end of her shift and if she administered medication, I would need to be observed for an additional 30-45 minutes, which would delay the end of her shift. When I reached my room around 5:30 pm, I had to wait another hour for pain medication and then only received Ibuprofen. My nurse stated Pharmacy had not verified my orders for stronger pain medication even though the Surgical Pharmacist spoke to me in Recovery to clarify my allergies and stated that she would verify my orders immediately so that pain medication was available once I reached my room. My post-op pain during my stay was horribly mismanaged!!! Nursing kept insisting that they could not call the doctor for new orders. My doctor told me the next day that she called around 10 pm and was told I was fine, which was not true. I also found out that nursing was giving me the lowest dose of narcotic pain medication ordered, even though my pain was a 10+/10. I was forced to get out of bed and walk around my hospital room for 10 minutes at 12:30 am (midnight). My nurse stated I had to be able to walk on my own to the bathroom, then they could remove the catheter. I was in horrible pain (10/10), plus having bladder spasms due to the catheter and you expect me to walk! Interestingly my catheter was not removed until 11:30 am (11 hrs later). As if this wasn't enough, at 4:15 a.m. I again was forced out of bed to walk in the hallway! Given my discharge was not happening until after 2pm, both of these walks could have waited until morning (9-10 am) so that I might get a little sleep. During this walk, the nurse did not provide any physical support and walked me down the middle of the hallway basically dragging me by the catheter tube hanging between my legs, instead of next to the grab bar on the wall. Due to the pace, extreme pain and bladder spasms I mis-stepped and nearly fell. The hospital I work in requires all patients to walk using the wall bar and nursing or physical therapy must use a gait belt or brace the patients arm for support. This is standard practice to prevent falls and patient injury! I made it very clear once back to my room that this was the last time I would be leaving my bed. At 5:30am the Respiratory Therapist barges into my room. I do not have lung or breathing issues and did not receive general anesthesia so use of incentive spirometry was completely unnecessary and only served to increase my hospital charges and unmanaged pain! I found out during shift change that my breathing was to be continuously monitored, and the overnight nurse didn't follow my doctor's orders. My catheter bag was not hooked to the side of the bed, but laid on the floor increasing my risk for infection. I reviewed my medication orders 2 weeks after discharge and discovered the nurses were giving the lowest amount of pain medication ordered, despite my pain being a 10+/10. I will never understand why post-op patients have to suffer due to uncontrolled pain when there is more medication ordered that can be given. Methodist Hospitals have a reputation for not managing pain effectively. After discharge, I was using three times the amount of pain medication given while I was in the hospital to adequately manage my pain at 6/10. I had the same issue after my hysterectomy 10 years ago. I was told that the "new" Women's Hospital was much better at managing pain. That statement in my opinion is completely false! Overall I would not recommend using any of the Methodist Hospital facilities due to poor pain management and staff not following standard clinical practice in patient care. read more

If you want to feel like a million bucks this is the hospital for you. Every single staff person is extremely friendly and helpful. Methodist Women's is a big place very easy to get lost in but there is someone at the door ready to guide you. Not only do they guide you in the right direction I had a woman walk me to where I needed to go. This hospital is beautiful, clean, and doesn't make you feel like you are in a hospital. Everyone is smiling and welcoming. I was blown away by my first visit here! I really felt like Dorothy when she first enters the land of oz and everyone catered to her. This is exactly the way a hospital should make you feel! Most people are nervous or scared going to the hospital but all of that is washed away when you walk through the doors of Methodist Women's. It really is the patients well being first and making them feel comfortable. If you are deciding where to have your baby, this is the place you want to be! read more

I'd give zero stars if I could! I went in for an non-emergency exam last May, and the desk secretary said the exam was covered 100% by my insurance. Turns out--she was wrong, and I got sacked with a $900 SURPRISE! When I called to complain about how she misinformed me, I got the notorious "well, we are really sorry that you were told this...BUT you owe us $900. This place sucks! Train your staff better to not promise people things that they know NOTHING about! Every penny I had to play made me sick knowing they gave it under false pretenses. One of the worst experience I have ever had!! Going in the office the waiting room was full but while checking in the Drs were more concerned about getting Botox before lunch then their patients. The nurses were polite but the dr honestly could have cared less what I had to say. I was a new patient and my provider was in and out in less then ten mins. Al I wanted was a full std check and birth control. It's been two weeks no test results and my birth control was never sent in. I have tried to contact them all they say is they will call back. I will never go back and when the bill from insurance comes I will dispute the lab test because I never got them. I almost feel like my nationalist was some of the reason I was treated so badly. read more

I have gone here for a mammogram and was very pleased with how I was treated . The facility is new and clean. It is much quicker and nicer to go here than Alegent, if you have a choice. They didn't make me wait a long time to check in. At Methodist Women's Hospital, I found the staff to be very nice and efficient and the system is set up to be respectful of my time. there ER nurses are the rudest people i have met. i was in emergency waiting room for over 2 hours (later found out my ankle was broken and glass was stuck in ankle so needed stitches and cast) i kept asking for ibprofin something to help the intense pain as i was sitting in waiting room crying for OVER 2 hours! what did the nurse say when i asked this? "no, wait till you see a doctor or leave" and walked away...from someone bleeding unable to walk. so thankfully a nice women wheel chaired me to my car and i went to 84th and dodge and got right in. but i will never go back to women's center again. read more

From the age of 17, I've had to undergo several procedures with several different doctors/OBGYNs at different hospitals. I have endemetriosis. It took 5 years to finally find an OBGYN that discovered the problem and who could properly diagnose me. This doctor was at UNMC. After a year of numerous medications and a surgery that couldn't fix it, I decided to seek out another opinion. I chose Women's Methodist. While the new doctor, Probasco, was sympathetic and gave me different paths I could choose, I still left the office feeling empty-handed and lost. This past week, my symptoms came on with a vengeance. I called Probasco's office begging for advice, an appt, medication, anything, and the nurse told me she'd put in a note with the doctor and get back to me. This was on Thursday at 10:30am. They never called me back. I thought maybe they'd call Friday morning, but still, no call. I was enraged. This is not a condition that allows me the convenience of "waiting around to see if it slows down or eases off". The pain is crippling. The bleeding causes the pain, and makes my condition worse, and I had to leave work because of it. What if my condition was actually severe, and I needed medical attention? How would I have known if I needed that attention? It's the nurse's/doctor's job to contact me and tell me what to do. While I know the general steps to take when my body is having a meltdown, I don't know the true medical decisions I should be making. In the end, I felt ignored and brushed off, completely alone in handling my problems. While UNMC followed up with me within half an hour of my original call, and even checked back without my asking later in the afternoon to see how I was doing, Methodist forgot about me. I will never trust my medical state, or any of my future children's, to that hospital again. read more
