It's located within the River Ridge mall so parking wasn't an issue. Besides standard aquarium fish there were plenty of other small animals like a cute capybara and toucan. The staff were friendly and asked if we had any questions. The path was easy to follow and there were plenty of benches to sit and rest. Holiday decorations and fun photo opportunities like the shark teeth were nice as well. Not the biggest aquarium but a reasonable size for the area. As an animal lover I enjoyed the visit.

However, nothing we've organized this far holds a candle to the laser tag party we threw recently, thanks to Laser Tag Source. Laser Tag Source makes it so easy: go online, choose your package, select the amount of gear you need, input the date of your party, and check out. The shipment arrives a couple of days prior to your party, which gives you some time to test out the gear to make sure it works (though operation was surprisingly simple). We chose the Ubisoft battle tag package, which included the laser guns, vests, laptop with software to keep score, and ample batteries. We made our own bunkers our of old cardboard boxes, but you can rent inflatable bunkers from them as well. Pick your teams, strap on your vests, set the game to start on the computer - and that's it, your ready to play! The kids had an absolute blast, and since there was no time limit and/or no other people waiting in line after us to play, the kids were able to spend hours playing laser tag. They have a pretty decent range - the kids were running all around the front and back yard, and they never stepped out of range. The gear was all in good working condition - not one technical difficulty occurred, which I thought was amazing. And when we were done, we simply removed the batteries, re-packed everything into the box, stuck on the provided return label, and took it to the UPS station. Easy peasy. Reasonably priced, too. Best of all, our kids raved about it for days. I heard a few kids telling their parents that they wanted to have laser tag parties for their birthday. I could easily see renting these for a grown up party, too (team building activity for work, perhaps?). Highly recommend!

Laser Tag Source was a disaster. They rarely answered their phones, the voice mailbox was always…read morefull. When I called to get the tracking number for my shipment - they told me that the payment from my organization didn't come through, and therefore did not mail my shipment. While I understand their policy to not mail the equipment, they did not call me to alert me of the problem (which could have been easily solved). So less than 24 hours, I had an event planned with no equipment. Instead of fixing the problem, they wanted to charge me overnight shipping for an additional $1200. I was desperate for their equipment, but not THAT desperate. I ended up finding a local company who rented and delivered the equipment for half the cost.

He did a great job of instructing her on what to do while she was riding Boomer. I got to ride on Grace and my wife got to ride on Ranger. We had an awesome time and can't wait to come back again. At first, I was thrown by how TCG-focused Dragon Fire Games is, with most of its space taken up by…read moreplay space. But this place is a true gem. The owner, Evan, is very kind and personable and it's clear he wants to encourage a positive gaming community in Lynchburg. He's also a great businessman, which is essential because when a business does good, I really want them to flourish and stick around. All the employees here are likewise kind, funny, and helpful- I've never felt ignored or treated poorly at all. The space has restrooms, cheap sodas and Gatorade, gorgeous dice sets, card packs, TTRPG books, and more. I've now played a few Lorcana casual league and tournament events here, and Dragon Fire Games has definitely succeeded in fostering a safe and inclusive space for gamers (especially us older-aged gamers and newbies). I wish I was able to hang out here more often (and that the games didn't go so very late, for me), but I'm very grateful to have found this place and for Evan's continued management of the space. We went canoeing today and had a wonderful experience! We got there a bit early (9:20) but they…read moreopened right on time at 9:30 for us to pick up our canoes. The drive over to the start of our day trip was pleasant in an air conditioned van and the guide driving us pointed out baby deer and an eagle's nest which was awesome. The canoeing day itself was beautiful and the trip was just the right length for us. There were four adults in our group-- I think with kids you would want to ask for a closer drop off point because it was a LOT of paddling. The canoes were nice and they helped us carry them down to the launch point and gave us a run down of the rapids we would pass which was helpful to avoid overly shallow or rocky areas. We were the only ones canoeing that day which was so nice! I would love to do this again in the fall when the leaves are changing!

There is ample shade so during the hot summer months, you're sheltered from the sun. We camped right on the water at Campsite 6 hearing the river as we slept. We could have camped up a bit as the site is large. We could swim from the site. Floating down the James River rafting was super beautiful and relaxing. Any age can do this really.
