We opted for sledding on the smaller hill for our children (all of who enjoyed themselves immensely ). Sleds are provided and there's a conveyer they can ride on to return to the top of the hill. Sledding was reasonably priced. The facility was clean and all staff we interacted with were kind and informative. While sledding we discovered we were permitted to take the conveyer to the top of the mountain and walk back down. The view and sunset were stunning and there were very few people around as students hadn't returned to campus. If returning, we would likely have encouraged our sledders to wear long sleeves/ pants for the few (and minor) turf burns.

I felt as if it was a waste of both my time and my money. I understand that drills are important but when paying for a private you should be spotted. I can do drills at home. I have now switched my tumbling classes to dynamic gymnastics. There is more space and equipment and they agree it is necessary to spot.

A few years ago, my husband and I made a pact that we would never throw our kids a birthday party…read moreat Peter Piper Pizza (or Chuck-E-Cheeze, etc.), and so far we've done well in finding alternative party venues and themes (well enough that our kids don't even bring up the "P" word). However, nothing we've organized this far holds a candle to the laser tag party we threw recently, thanks to Laser Tag Source. Laser Tag Source makes it so easy: go online, choose your package, select the amount of gear you need, input the date of your party, and check out. The shipment arrives a couple of days prior to your party, which gives you some time to test out the gear to make sure it works (though operation was surprisingly simple). We chose the Ubisoft battle tag package, which included the laser guns, vests, laptop with software to keep score, and ample batteries. We made our own bunkers our of old cardboard boxes, but you can rent inflatable bunkers from them as well. Pick your teams, strap on your vests, set the game to start on the computer - and that's it, your ready to play! The kids had an absolute blast, and since there was no time limit and/or no other people waiting in line after us to play, the kids were able to spend hours playing laser tag. They have a pretty decent range - the kids were running all around the front and back yard, and they never stepped out of range. The gear was all in good working condition - not one technical difficulty occurred, which I thought was amazing. And when we were done, we simply removed the batteries, re-packed everything into the box, stuck on the provided return label, and took it to the UPS station. Easy peasy. Reasonably priced, too. Best of all, our kids raved about it for days. I heard a few kids telling their parents that they wanted to have laser tag parties for their birthday. I could easily see renting these for a grown up party, too (team building activity for work, perhaps?). Highly recommend!

Laser Tag Source was a disaster. They rarely answered their phones, the voice mailbox was always…read morefull. When I called to get the tracking number for my shipment - they told me that the payment from my organization didn't come through, and therefore did not mail my shipment. While I understand their policy to not mail the equipment, they did not call me to alert me of the problem (which could have been easily solved). So less than 24 hours, I had an event planned with no equipment. Instead of fixing the problem, they wanted to charge me overnight shipping for an additional $1200. I was desperate for their equipment, but not THAT desperate. I ended up finding a local company who rented and delivered the equipment for half the cost.
