I have never used a travel service before, but Get Away Today was recommended by several friends and family. I looked in to it and was connected the next day by Amber C. (Wanted to but her last name, but for privacy I did not) . Amber was amazing on the phone, spent time to talk me though everything and made sure all my questions were answered. After my first initial call we did bit speak for a few weeks as I booked my trip early. I had additional questions and I was able to email Amber and within 24 hours she would always get back to me. At one point we were emailing back-and-forth all day. She helped me add memory maker, travel insurance and made sure to even add a last minute guest to my travel itinerary! Honestly I am so glad that Amber has been here to help. I have 7 days before my trip and I have a few more questions, but I am sure Amber will explain everything. I had an issue with the layaway policy but they contacted me right away to take care of it. I have used this company for years. I would recommend that you read all the fine print on every page. You get excited planning a vacation and you might forget to do that, and there is vital information all over the site. They can save you on hotel parking fees, et cetera. Very disappointed with these guys... I had some issues come up making me cancel my hotel reservation with them... I had paid 275ish into my lay away plan and when I called they tell me I will only get 97ish back... I understand the non refundable lay away fee, but an additional fee on top of that???? I am months away from my vacation date and hotels give 24 hrs prior to arrival to cancel... They are crooks... Either pay a $75 protection fee or a $75 cancellation fee.... On 11/07/2017 I booked a surprise Christmas vacation for my family at the Disneyland resort hotel arriving 12/24/2017 departing 12/26/2017 for a total of 2125.0 this included hotel, two day park hopper along with goofy's kitchen . On 12/12/2017 I called the hotel directly to confirm my reservation I was told I was a "no show" and that my reservation was booked for 11/24/2017 departing 11/26/2017. On 12/13/2017 I called get away today.com to try and resolve this issue I was placed on hold for long periods of time , transferred to someone else or ... oops dropped calls this process actually took a few days they argued with me, they refused to take accountability telling me it was my error therefore refusing to refund my money. I notified my credit card company and a partial credit was given the remaining balance owed to me is still in dispute! Four months later and still trying to get my money back . Pathetic ! Hi Kim , thank you for reaching out , funny how customer service wants to make it right now that it's on yelp ! We ordered tickets for Disneyland waiting to complete my surprise gift box for my kids and they shipped the tickets 2/27/2018 and as of now 3/2/2018 there has been no tracking info updated they just created the label and then disappeared. Emailed and called and nothing still. I have been emailing someone named David who assured me some sort of update today 3/2/2018 and still nothing. But they don't forget to remind you that tickets are non-refundable and non-reprintable. SO...I am hoping for a good outcome but not really impressed at all with the service. Will update review if they ever come or get some resolution from GAT. EDIT: One thing to be learned by this company is that communication is key when dealing with customer service. If your communication is lacking then your reviews will reflect that. I'm sure they are a great company but they need better communication skills . The parks are closed, and we are not able to reschedule for more than a year in advance. Another vendor I got tickets through issued refunds for tickets. However, Get Away Today refuses to issue a refund. Steer clear of Get Away Today unless you want to risk losing your money! read more

I have used GetAwayToday many times and have always been pleased in the past. That being said during this COVID-19 pandemic and with the Disneyland Parks being closed they are expressing their predatory nature. While no one could anticipate this pandemic airlines, parks, and most places have put in measures to help refund customers and take e care of each other in this crazy time. GetAwayToday however, is refusing refunds and only offering the option to change your dates. Unfortunately, some of us have jobs and other responsibilities and have been planning for this time off for a full year. It is unlikely that we will be able to attend at a later date however they will not allow you to cancel without paying a $150 FEE. I understand their usual policy and that they do not offer cancelations but come on there is A GLOBAL PANDEMIC!! As a company now is the time to make an exception. First, they helped me plan a beautiful trip to the Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui in 2018 where I got engaged and have now been helping me plan my honeymoon during the pandemic. Alexis at Get Away Today is an angel and I don't think I could have dealt with all of the stress of having to completely redo my honeymoon after a passport delay (due to COVID-19) forced us to move our honeymoon from St. Lucia to St. Thomas. Alexis worked tirelessly with Funjet (sometimes holding on the line for hours) so I only had to chose my package and flights. We were also provided 25% more than we paid to use towards our new package!! We were able to upgrade to an all-inclusive plan at a gorgeous resort in St. Thomas. Everyone that I have spoken to at Get Away Today have been incredibly helpful and quick to assist but I must single out Alexis because she always goes above and beyond for us even calling to follow up on an email on her day's off. She's stellar and I highly recommend this company for all of your travel needs! They work with all budgets and offer installments!! read more

It is not often these days that a company goes far above what you would expect in service. I had booked my son and a friend on a Disneyland trip. I had inadvertently booked them in the wrong hotel. They were of the same chain of hotels but in different cities. This was my son's first trip to Disneyland on his own and I wanted him within walking distance of the park. I was able to get tix early for the Boo Bash (formerly Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party). These are hot tickets!! They were ready to go at 4 AM to book my tickets so I didn't have to worry about it. Last year was my first time at Disney World and we were doing Disney during Covid. Not even my friend who works for Disney and goes to the parks ALL the freaking time could answer all of my constant questions. I was greeted by Jill, and I expressed my concerns - I would love to save some money on tickets, but I was concerned that they wouldn't show up. I spent 46 minutes on the phone with Jill - yes, she is in a sales role, but I never felt pressured in any way. I am completely heartbroken with this company! I have always guided people to this company for booking their Disney vacations and they have, even recently had my realtor start using this company since they go a handful of times a year to Disney! I have been using them since 2012 and my parents have been using them since I can remember! It was always great service UNTIL you need to make a cancel! Last year I booked a trip to Disney for November 28-December 3rd, I paid for the peace of mind as I would be 7 months pregnant and as it turns out I had a severe placental abruption thanksgiving night, 3 days before we were to leave on out trip! I was only 28 weeks and me and the baby almost lost our lives! My child shouldn't even be here today! My husband had called to cancel after I got out of surgery. We hadn't even seen our baby yet or know the status of how he was. They said they sent us an email back when my husband cancled ( which we finally saw 3 days ago) that said we had 4 weeks to return our Disneyland tickets to get out $1000 back. The LAST thing we were doing was reading our junk mail in our email!! Our baby was on a ventilator, swollen, and bleeding out of EVERY opening of his body!! And I was just cut up and having a blood transfusion because I was gushing blood and pale and lifeless!! My husband almost became a single father of 3 other boys at home! When I went to reschedule a Christmas vacation for this year I was told I would only be getting $400 of my $1499.00 that I paid last year for. I was beyond confused because I had paid for peace of mind. They then told me I had to return my Disneyland tickets by December 31 2016 to get my full refund, honestly I had no idea they needed to be returned and I assumed they would be voided. That left us 4 weeks to do that with a baby that was extremely sick clinging to life and in the hospital along with myself, my husband working 2 jobs from 6am to 2 am and 3 other boys at home. This was suppose to be our make up Christmas since we didn't have a Christmas with our kids last year! We couldnt afford anything with he hospital being 30 miles away, using up or savings for food and gas, and baby things. Never did I ever receive calls to help us fix this or an understanding of our situation it was always unfortunately they're expires tickets. I was suppose to receive a call Friday nothing and today, of course nothing! Do I need to send you people pictures of my 28 week preemie as proof!!!??? I am so disappointed with this company and truly heartbroken! I am already in the hole with all the hospital bills I'm paying off that I couldn't afford $1000 being ripped away from me for something that was out of my hands. The girl we worked with booked our hotel room far away from the air port and we had to pay $60.00 each way for a shuttle when we could have stayed at a hotel by the airport and saved $120.00 I would say if you are planning a Disney cruise to read about them on all the blogs and to book it yourself. We booked a trip to Orland Florida using Getaway Today. Their website stated that the hotel we were staying at provided a free continental breakfast which I specifically chose to help our family save money. When we arrived, our room was infested with bugs and we found out you have to pay to eat in their tiny "cafe" that has nothing but junk food. I called to complain and spent 2 hours while at Universal Studios waiting to speak to a supervisor. I was finally told I would be refunded $100 which never came to fruition. I called numerous times, just to be hung up on. I sent countless e-mails and they all told me to call the same number where I was getting no help. I finally disputed it with my credit card company. I just returned home from an 8 day 7 night stay in southern California with my wife and two kids. We picked (ourselves) a two day park hopper for Disneyland, a day at Universal studios, and a dinner at Medieval Times. Our "free" days we visited Huntington Beach, The OC Swap Meet, and the Hollywood stars and walk of fame, the Hollywood sign and downtown Hollywood sightseeing. Our vacation was perfect, and am now a getawaytoday customer for life (thanks to my friend for showing me this sight). My biggest hidden assurance and comfort was the additional insurance. I paid the extra $60 for the peace of mind and even though I dint use it, I felt confident for the months leading up to my vacation. Day 5 was Hollywood day with a Medieval dinner for 4 and it was a fabulous day! Day 6 was Universal Studios (dads favorite). And Finally day 7 back to Mouse land for California adventures (unfortunately it was a Friday and way to busy for my liking) it was a great way to end a week long "Disneyland" trip with using the last day as the main attraction ticket. read more

I heard about Get Away Today Vacations from my credit union. While planning a trip to Disneyland, I looked at some other sites, but they seemed to have the best deals. I booked our trip about 10 days before leaving. The hotel was very nice and no problems checking in or out. Get Away Today called us at the hotel and left a message wishing us a good vacation and leaving their phone number in case we had any problems - which we didn't.
