Been here a few times before, very high quality smoothies! If you like smoothies to be more of the fruit and less of just ice these are for you! There are also other drinks and snacks available if not all of your group is a smoothy fan. Juice, milk, and more! Very clean interior with some games and other children oriented toys. A couple of years ago I had a marketing project on Get Fresh and my group even got to meet the owner, who is super nice! I love the acai bowls and sometimes get the smoothie of the day. There are a lot of allergen friendly options, like the gluten free granola I always get. There are also some delicious sandwiches (gluten free bread is an option), cold-pressed juices, and so many other healthy options that taste great. I brought my family here the day of my graduation and we all loved it. The staff is always friendly and the service is quick. Also, the ambiance is chill. We stopped for lunch on a road trip. There are two or three vegetarian sandwich options and a wrap; the vegetarian sandwich options feature house-roasted seitan "bacon," which is good. We got the vegetable sandwich and the vegan "Fiery BLT" with a strawberry banana smoothie. The place is quiet, at least when the blender isn't going (we were there at 2 on a Sunday). Sandwiches were nicely toasted and vegetables were good (notably the lettuce). I could have done with less chipotle mayonnaise on the "Fiery BLT" but have no other complaints. Me and my little stopped in on a Friday morning to get a strawberry and banana smoothie (his choice). Service wasn't super friendly, or fast. BUT it just opened-- so I think that this was the exception, not the rule. Our smoothie was absolutely delightful! Totally hit the spot and so, so fresh tasting. Who doesn't love a biz with a farm-to-bottle mentality!? Additionally, this new IC staple is committed to staying compostable, sustainable and natural. The cafe serves up customizable smoothies and cold pressed juices. And has vegan options as well. (I've read salads and sandwiches are to come, too.) Get Fresh Cafe lives where (a much bigger) Iowa Book resided. It's a great location! There is plenty of metered parking nearby but also a ramp a few blocks away. It boasts high-top seating, low-top and a cute little counter of sorts, looking out the front window. Pricing seemed on point with portion size and the fresh (local) produce used, IMO. I love everything about this cafe. I've only sampled a smoothie--triple berry, and I can't recommend it enough--but I was so impressed by their commitment to sustainability and fresh (shocking, I know) products. The cafe itself is super cute, the type of place I could see myself meeting a friend for a quick and healthy meal. What I ordered was really good - a smoothie bowl. HOWEVER. The price listed on the menu displayed above where you order was not accurate. Instead of the $12 listed, it rang up as $15. Toppings are listed (you get 3 with build your own), but boosters (you get 2) are not. I asked about them, was told chia seeds, and that rang up as $1 extra. While the serving is large, paying $17+ for a smoothie bowl is, IMO, too expensive. I understand the owner is looking to get a digital menu display so updated prices are easier to display, but still. Looking at this cynically, this is a great way to lure in customers to pay, in my case 25% more. I'd like to go again, but I want to have the true cost DISPLAYED instead of making the order and then having an unpleasant surprise. read more

The taste and texture are awful and this cafe should not be selling these bowls. This place is so lovely! They have a good selection of juices, salad, smoothies, freshies (fruit with ice), fruit bowls, sandwiches, and more! A lot of the ingredients are locally sourced. For the smoothies and fruit bowls, you can build your own or have what's on the menu. I ordered a PB & J smoothies - to be honest it's one of the best smoothies I've ever had - dense and rich but also refreshing and delicious!! It tastes less fruity but more rich in flavor compared to the PB & J from the Power Cafe in CRWC. Their interior is also very very cute, they have various kinds of seating and a lot of natural light. Great for hanging out with friends, reading, and eating. Their bathroom is also very nice (if you were wondering lol) - great decors, clean, and smells great! The staffs are all very friendly and helpful. The reasons I didn't give this place a 5 star are 1) they are a bit overpriced for me - the 16 oz (like the small-sized at the CRWC) gourmet smoothie I got was 9 dollars (the make your own ones are cheaper, a little bit under $7). Even with the 25% discount from the Plyo app (check it out if you haven't!!), it's still over $7 for a smoothie. 2) no wifi... which is kind of a bummer especially considering the price of the food. This place would not be the best place to study at in downtown. Overall, this place is a great place to get a upgrade for your ordinary smoothies and juices and to hangout with friends. read more

Get Fresh is my favorite place in Iowa City/Coralville! I have tried everything from smoothies/smoothie bowls to sandwiches to fresh juice and plenty more. All of it exceeds my expectations and is made to the highest quality compared to other places in the area. As a student-athlete at the University of Iowa, I take my nutrition very seriously. Get Fresh has me feeling great both pre and post workout/competition! I cannot say enough good things about the business and highly recommend trying it out. read more
