This is a great place to get a filling, healthy and delicious meal! It's hard for me to consider getting food from any other places inside NewBo City Market, only because I crave the Full Bowl so regularly that I have to take every chance I get to savor it! Whether it's the weekly special or one of the tried-and-true staples on the menu, I know it'll be delicious! I am OBSESSED with the No Coast Bowl (that cashew cream under the black beans is what dreams are made of.) Super friendly and fast service, awesome prices and satisfying meals can be found here! Bonus: supporting a small locally-owned business!

Found this little gem while passing through Cedar Rapids. Located inside NewBo City Market the competition is stiff with several other small business food vendors. I wouldn't hesitate to choose this spot again. I couldn't decide on which rice bowl to get so I got two small ones. The No Coast and the Chana Masala. The owner insisted the No Coast was a fan favorite but after having both I think people are missing out on the Chana Masala. Both were equally delicious but the complex flavors of the Chana put it on top for me. Get both chutneys and don't be afraid of the jalapeño spice. I also tried the Spring rolls loaded with carrots, purple cabbage and micro greens with a yummy peanut dipping peanut sauce that really makes the roll. The owner is super friendly and there's something about seeing micro greens growing in the space that makes you feel good.

I love the No Coast Bowl at New Bo Market! YUM! I get it with Avocado, my husband gets it with cheese & sour cream. We both get the hot corn bread muffin. There are vegetarian & vegan options. So good & healthy & close by!; I stop nearly weekly on my way home from Mercy.

Yummmm. What a gem. Filled my belly with huge flavor. Thank you for having vegan food!

Many vegans around me recommended it, so we gave it a try. All food we got was delicious and fresh. No Coast Bowl: I could taste each ingredient disrinctly and at the same time, they mingled well. I especially liked the mild kick of green onion and cilantro in the mix. Black bean was soft and melted in my mouth. Two of us shared the bowl and a couple of side dishes together, and I wished we had ordered the large bowl instead of the regular. Vegan corn muffin: a must item! It's only $1.50 and it's worth every penny. Very savory, not so sweet, and crumbly with real corn kennels inside. Lots of fun chewing it and also filling. Grilled vegan sausage: they use Tofurky brand. It's half of a sausage stick. I wish they use a whole. Oh, well. It went well with the corn muffin and the bowl. It would be a bit dry to eat it by itself. They don't have vegan cheese on their menu, so I asked. They said when they tried it a while ago, they didn't like the taste. I recommended that they try one by Follow Your Heart. Note that this is a booth in an indoor market. So you pick up your food and eat in the seating area or out in the lawn. They also change menu frequently and have a limited open hour.

Taste was great. Portion to cost is a little small. They have 3 bowl options and are all vegan. I also tried the vegan cornbread and vegan sausage. The cornbread is good could be better, it was dry. The sausage is seitan and I actually liked it. I chopped it up and mixed it in my bowl. Will most likely return.

Give The Full Bowl owner Wes Shirley some props for opening a vegan/vegetarian restaurant in the middle of carnivore Iowa. Who knew this would work here? Rice and bean bowls are as common here as pork tenderloin sandwiches are in Mumbai. I had the No Coast Bowl which won over this Iowa boy with layers of rich flavors, multiple textures and actual substance. It had steamed black beans, red cabbage, scallion, cilantro and cheddar cheese over brown rice in a flavorful lemon garlic sauce. The Full Bowl is located in NewBo City Market, which along with so many other new and creative businesses in this growing district, has really transformed Cedar Rapids in a cool and refreshing way!

Even with everyone standing around the doorway (there is not much in the way of a waiting area), I was spotted right away and they took my name and said it would be a 30-40 minute wait. Turns out it was only about 20 minutes and we were seated in a comfy booth. The servers were super efficient given how busy it was. We ordered the cheese curds and they were nice and hot. I especially liked them because I prefer breading over beer battered. I ordered the F-3 with sweet potato fries and marshmallow. The sweet potato fries were a little soft/soggy even though they looked burnt, and the burger was a little more red than pink, but that's just a personal preference. It was still a solid burger. My husband ordered the F-3 Both, which looked delicious, and the cheese and jalapeno macaroni salad is always a win. My son ordered the F-4 with FF. He's loves a good burger, and wanted to eat it all, but the portion was large enough that he just couldn't. It was loud and energetic, and we had to talk a little louder, but overall it was a nice dinner out with good food!

Service was great and the waiter was pretty good at making the rounds, making sure I was attended to. I was going to order the large but he insisted to get the medium knowing the pie was going to be too big. (I should have ordered the large! ). When the pie came out, everything about this pizza was a step above any slice I've ever had. I'm a uge fan , that's right "UGE" fan of Dave Portnoy 1 slice pizza review and have been dying to try the NH style type of pizza. I ordered a medium (which was uge btw) pep pizza and it came out within 10 mins. Each slice had zero flop and a beautiful undercarriage! The dough had that true charcoal oven fired tasted and the pepperoni cups were crisp and spicy! The thing that really elevated this pizza for me was that after taken it back to the hotel and microwaving it, (it lost some of it structure) but the crust was still pretty crispy! How am I'm suppose to go back to Texas now knowing this kind of slice exists!?! The place also has some pretty cool shirts which are kind of pricey but tbh will always remind me of that one time I'd almost cried eating pizza.

The vibe of Hip-Stir ha always been cool and kinda niche and this was no exception. If you don't know that they changed up their menu.. they did. It's not bad by any means, but I am pretty heartbroken about them removing the Spinach Artichoke dip. It was the best around and I'll be overjoyed when it returns. The new menu still features ramen, sandwiches and other yummy dishes. I ordered a side of Mac and cheese with my entree and the food was out in about 20 minutes which is great! Unfortunately my Mac and cheese was forgotten- our server apologized and went to "get that started", no worries. The next time our server was at our table I inquired about it again since it had been about 10 minutes, but she had forgotten yet again. She rushed back to "get it started", ok. At this point everyone was getting full and I didn't even want it anymore, but she returned a few minutes later with it. A little frustrating. The ramen has changed, unfortunately. My sister ordered the spicy pork (which has historically been amazing) and didn't even finish it, which is pretty weird for her lol. I tasted nothing but soy sauce and spice. I'm not sure where the aromatics went, but they need to bring them back asap. Don't order the carrot cake. It was served over coffee (yes, hot coffee) which ruined it. The cake was overly soggy and tasted of nothing but the coffee flavor. I'm sure it would have been great without it, the frosting looked great. I'll probably be back and love supporting the Fun not Fancy group in CR, but last night was a miss.
