Reasons why I love this market:…read more It's close to my house It's not on a Saturday morning Vendors are always so friendly It's never crowded Compared to other markets, there aren't many vendors. It works for me because it has the basics I always get: fresh herbs, eggs, tea & tamales. I'd love to see more produce but all in all, I think this is a really great little market.

Citadelle's Twilight Farmers Market started up after their summer break a few weeks back. They are…read moreopen Wednesday evenings from 4 - 7pm (until sometime in May). I went last week for the first time, and back again yesterday since it was so good. Most farmer's markets I've been to in Phoenix are generally lame. Mainly because there are 50% or more booths that are selling things like jewelry, knick-knacks or other things that to me belong more at a craft show than a farmer's market. This one, however, is almost all food (the only booth I noticed, other than information, that wasn't food was a table for one of the stores in the plaza). Two or three produce vendors, depending on the week, farm fresh eggs, grass-fed beef, bbq sauce, cider, granola, tamales, etc. etc. My favorite though is the dairy guys with the fresh cheese curds. You'd think you were eating a mouse the way these things squeek! Definitely fresher than the ones at Trader Joes. I am a huge fan of this farmer's market, and am sure all be back plenty of times over the fall/winter. My only minor complaint is that they advertise as Arizona's only farmer's market under the stars...since I pretty sure that the Downtown Market goes on Wednesday night and there is a farmer's market now at Norterra (sucked...see above about non food vendors), it's not even remotely true. 4.9 stars, rounded up!

I am adding on info about Noble Bread this time from my Oct. 2025 visit:…read moreI'm so glad they come out to Sun City's Farmers Market which is such a pleasant outdoor venue which is where I purchased their baked goods, and with a charming salesperson who could answer all my questions too! The country sliced artisanal naturally leavened bread had a real old timey flavor but was very tough, so unfortunately, I won't be able to get that again since my teeth and jaw couldn't manage it. It's too bad since as you can tell by reading the packaging, it's a great product and is easier on digestion--maybe it was as they defined "middle aged" instead of freshly made that day? I might try again, but since I really enjoyed the pastries, I might play it safe and just get them again. 1) Raspberry Pistachio Danish really smelled so raspberry-ish when I opened the package and I liked the chopped pistachios for their taste and texture and the flaky dough was just as a good Danish should be. 2) Kouign Amann Almond pastry was the best though as the dough had a bit of crisp to it rather than the limper Danish--like the layered dough of phyllo. There was enough filling to satisfy each bite with almondy goodness. Both were not overly sweet which ruins most pastries. I wish the products weren't as pricey as they are and that there would be incentives for purchasing more than one item, items when they are packing up for the day, or day-olds. So many of us in Sun City are on fixed incomes and could really use a little help--maybe if we showed a voucher--even though they couldn't accept it--maybe a little discount could be given....

The bread was fresh, bagels were great and the jam delish! Enjoyed the honey and micro greens as well. Next week I'll be trying the jerky and some fudge. YUM!!! I would LOVE a farmer's market in the Arrowhead Ranch area I mean come on! McClendon's Farm is in Peoria for Heavens sake! McClendon! Where is local community spirit? If you can clear accross the valley to sell in east valley markets why not support your own community's efforts? Anyway, as it stands this market isn't worth the 5 minute drive.

July 2025…read more McClendon's...My Saturday morning addiction! If you know, you know...and if you don't know McClendon's yet, let me be the one to lovingly shove you in their direction. I've been shopping with them for years, mostly at the Uptown Farmers Market, and it's become a non-negotiable part of my weekend routine. Their fruits and veggies? On another level. I'm just telling you that once you taste their organic produce, it ruins the grocery store for you. I'm not being dramatic...okay maybe a little...but seriously, everything just tastes better. The carrots are sweeter, the citrus is brighter, and don't even get me started on the herbs. Fresh. Fragrant. Plentiful. I buy more than I need every time because I can't help myself. My fridge is so happy to be filled with all the herbs! It makes cooking seem way less like a chore and more like something wonderful that I get to do! The team is always kind, helpful, and genuinely happy to be there. You feel good shopping with people who care about what they do. Bonus? I actually spend less money here than I do at the store. Significantly less and for a much higher quality of food! It's wild. Totally worth the drive! Bottom line: McClendon's is the gold standard of Arizona farming. Your taste buds will thank you. Your wallet probably will too.

If you're weak like I am, you might want to get help bringing it in your house. It was hot though and I only wanted to make 1 trip so I did it. Anyway, important stuff-good variety of stuff. Some stuff went bad a little bit quickly, but I still used a majority of the items. Whether you're there for the food, the vibe, or to catch up with a friend, it's got something for everyone. There are tons of fun photo spots, a hat-making station, and plenty of toys and games for all ages. The food is amazing! The Blue Rooster honey butter and sourdough are absolute musts. If the sourdough looks sold out, just ask - they'll usually bring more out. The fresh pizza is great, and the coffee and lemonade pair perfectly with it. Don't sleep on the pickles either - they're so good! They also have plant starts right now - cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and more ($5). As someone who shops organic, I found everything well-priced, often about the same or even a little less than Sprouts or Whole Foods. Everything's fresh, local, and never waxy or overprocessed. The whole area is shaded and super comfortable, so it doesn't get nearly as hot as you'd expect. All in all, The Blue Rooster is a lovely spot -- welcoming, relaxed, and full of small details that make it special. Highly recommend checking it out!

Also I didn't know who is an employee here there was no one at the coffee stand, not the gift shop. Only employee I saw was the cashier but he was very quiet plus was busy with other customers. But nice place to visit and walk around.
