Hard Working, Terrible Packers & Bumpy Move…read more Randy, Richard and Nick are very hard working and careful to prevent furniture damage. I give credit for that. BUT the packing and move itself was bumpy. We had a complicated move that took place from Jan 23-27, 2026 and we signed up basically for the "full meal deal" - packing services and two trucks to move to two locations. We were ready for packing with everything sorted and separated for the two locations. The "packers" who arrived had no experience, were incredibly slow and really had no idea how to pack a home for moving: Nothing was labelled except the room it was from; often it wasn't labeled for where it was going; there were missed cabinets (in the kitchen!) that didn't get packed; and we had to help a lot and do additional packing to get us finished which was not planned or expected. Rather than work room through room to pack, they were contstantly going into different areas without finishing where they were, creating chaos and missed items. And...for this terrible pack job, we got to pay nearly $3000 over and above the moves. Please Note: The packers were also the moving crew and when i learned this, I was less surprised. When it came to loading despite repeatedly indicating which items went where and labelling them ourselves, it was a very confused process over a couple days with the same questions being asked repeatedly. At the end, nearly 2 pick up trucks worth of items didnt fit despite us being told during the quote process it would. Several boxes also went to the wrong locations making it more complicated. When we asked for some consideration (a $300-$400 reduction in cost to cover our fuel costs for the extra trips) to transport remaining item we were flatly refused and the office administrator stated that they can't quarantee everything will fit even after a site visit during quoting. Basically was told it was our problem, not there's and its in their "terms and condtions." in tiny print you don't really notice This was really poor customer service considering we spent about 10K with them to get us moved. Left a pretty sour taste. Side Note: While it is a legal substance in BC, a couple of the people wreeked of cannabis often and we wondered/were concerned if they were under the influence while working. I hope MCM in future designates different people to move vs pack. They are differen skills and it would for sure have made our move easier. If you use them, ask better questions. Check their terms and conditions carefully and be aware that their quotes are "non-binding" which may matter. Hopefully this honest review prompts you to ask things we didn't even think would be an issue.

The amount I pay to rent here has gone up twice since I moved in about a year ago, about $150 more than when I moved in, and the fees are insane! Online they listed my rent at $402. So that is what I paid. In just this month they have charged me 2 late fees over $100 each. 7 days into the month! They said it was because the database made a mistake and my rent was $140 more, but even though I paid what it said they refused to waive the fees. I spent days trying to get answers from corporate telemarketers in other countries. I didnt know my rent went up and I didnt pay enough to cover it and they fee-bombed me. This is a heartless corporation, not a mom and pop place, they will gouge you if they can and once I get caught up I plan to move out.

Until my son brought over the final truckload of items we needed stored. We had rented the truck for 24 hours; $75 + mileage, which was great. But when my son arrived that evening during business hours, he had no gate access. He called me. I called both phone numbers for the manager. Left messages. No answer. It was urgent because I live on a fixed budget, and to rent the truck again, brought our bill from $75 to $275. We finally gained access the next day, but that brought our truck rental price up. I don't understand what's happening because after paying over twice what we should have paid for the truck had Public Storage lived up to their end of the bargain, my son was there days later in the evening during open hours and the manager, the same women I had left copious messages for, came up and asked what he was doing there. She didn't believe that I existed, apparently and had mad delusions? I'm not quite sure, but I definitely do not recommend Public Storage in Bellingham Washington.

They even have saved me money by pointing out specials, etc. Every contract is month to month as well, which is what I always need. It's clean, safe, heated storage with friendly staff.
