No BS. I haven't felt this good since I was a teenager man I'm 39! and I'm in 4 days post op! I'm down 21lbs. I'm walking so much better like almost Able to run like me running in real life sound like something I'd think I'd never would have said if I didn't make this choice! Dr Mutafyan office is the bomb do you hear me?! THEY ARE THE BOMB BOMB BOMB!!! I mean it! I have no idea what I was so afraid of. ‍Took me forever. Don't listen to horror stories from 10 years ago of other people stuff. don't let nobody tell you just go exercise or " just go walk" I tried all that sh!t! other ppl suggestions and it really only put me in real pain And wasn't none of those people there to help me. It just wasn't happening good for me the pain was so dang extreme in my lower back and my knees and my feet! Here is the greatest part My insurance covered it!! sure did! The whole surgery. No co-pay. But he also takes credit cards for the procedure if I had to pay outta pocket I would have! I was overthinking the pre and post diet which is so DAMN simple if you can read! I got ADHD AND STILL UNDERSTOOD IT! prepare your supply before surgery I got my stuff from 89 vent store and Walmart you're Gonna be fine. I so far have total less that $100 bucks outta pocket when I was spending that inna day but my food wasting it just for myself! I have plenty left The process is easy pesy. Ask questions but when the nurses are saying you're going to be fine believe them the first time! My specific treatment was Gastric sleeve! Surgery happened Friday 7/8/22 12ish pm I was up walking to potty in few hours on Friday alone once I got outta recovery and into my own room( sorry for the TMI ijs I could walk ya know). I stayed overnight discharged next day I was given pain plenty medicine , protonix ( acid reducer ) , and colace ( to help poop bc of the strong medicines could stop you up ) . The protonix Is a real lifesaver (acid reducer). Get GAS-X BEFORE YOUR SURGERY! Idk what to say except I DO NOT REGRET A SINGLE THING! Call them and see what you gotta do to change your life. I'm just shocked I actually walked a mall yesterday Monday 7/11/22 for 5 hours and actually didn't want to eat the mall food. ( well I couldn't anyway I'm on a liquid diet so yea! Here's a tip the body might look weird bc the weights dropping so fast but you will regain weight and will level out and then there's stuff to fix that! You can always fix that. Don't think about that okay?! Please don't! It gets worse before it gets better. But just KNOW IT GETS BETTER!! Sh!t just knowing I can walk around right now is enough for me! Living in pain and struggling with REAL health problems weather current or future AIN'T FUN. Not everybody has issues regard to obesity but most of us do. I trust this man Dr. Mutafyan AND his WHOLE DAMN TEAM WITH MY LIFE. I might have been the most annoying patient they EVER HAD! EVER! I drilled them about everything under the sun! And they really were so patient with me. Thinking about it now I could cry. I was a real ass! they told me not to worry and I kept saying but what about (blah) or this or that ?!!! They really answered EVERY LAST STUPID ,CRAZY, WEIRD, CREEPY, CONFUSING, ASSUMING QUESTION I HAD ‍‍. God bless they souls in there. Forgive me medical assistant he work with if y'all read this I'm so sorry!!! And if y'all reading this thanks guys for taking the time out I don't post fake bs I be real bout mine and dag nabbit. If you let another day pass by without really looking into this if you have tried the other regular way (diet exercise or whatever you tried) please don't deny yourself peace and greater sense of self. The Care qualities for be careful because he will cut your liver and not admit it on documentations and you cannot do anything about it except file a complaint with a medical board and your health insurance. I tried to work with Nurses to try to find transportation and change the surgery date they refused over the phone until I file Complaint with my insurance, and then when I didn't trust him, he send me a letter blaming me saying that they try to work with me and I wouldn't work with them and he failed to mention in the letter that he cut my liver! what is always occurred be careful going to him because he will cause accidents and not take responsibility for him. I've already filed against him with my insurance and now I'm gonna file a complaint with the medical board after this letter. read more

I called on a Thursday and the receptionist gave a Saturday appointment (of the same week) at the Glendale office, which is very rare with doctors. At other doctor visits as most are familiar with, you have to wait at least a month to get an appointment. I went to my appointment, found parking easily right in front of the building for free, and the staff was friendly, and had a clean environment (following CDC's regulations). I spoke with the doctor (Dr. Mutafyan) and he shared his knowledge and expertise with me about the many procedures he works with. Dr Mutafyan is an awesome dr! I have successfully lost and kept off 100lbs for the past 2 years. Every time I've had an issue and went to the ER he has always been able to help. However, the down side of this business is his staff. It's constantly changing and the staff doesn't know what they're doing. I've come several times and been canceled on due to their issues. So apparently if your appointment is made a month advance it doesn't matter because the staff doesn't put in authorization in a timely manner so the day of your appointment they tell you in person you aren't able to be seen. Ridiculous. Waste of peoples time. If your staff has time to put a note saying "authorization still pending" they should have the decency to call the patient the day of and let them know to reschedule not waste their time driving in heavy Glendale traffic. This staff is bringing him down. I can't recommend another Bariatric dr besides Dr Mutafyan because he's so good but just wish he had better staff. Good luck in your weight loss journey! read more

I had a recent cancerous mass that was removed by Dr. Mutafyan 2 weeks ago. I was so worried and frustrated with my whole situation. My family was concerned and we had so many questions that felt overwhelming. Dr. Mutafyan and his team did everything possible to make it easy for me. I called their office maybe 100 times already, even though I was on hold for long time sometimes, but the ladies at the office always answered all my questions. The surgery scheduler was very nice and tried to acc one a date for me very soon as my surgery was very urgent. Dr. Mutafyan explained the entire surgery to me and gave me a piece of mind. He is truly a great doctor. I went through surgery, even though it was a long operation, I woke ups it's no complications. Dr. Mutafyan and his staff were in constant contact with my oncologist and they coordinated everything with my doctors. Today, I went to the office for my post surgery follow up. I'm doing very well surgery wise, but obviously there are still things I need to take care of in regards to my condition. I also came in for IV vitamins today since their office offers that too. Especially for patients like me who will be going through chemotherapy, it is a good way I think to keep up with vitamins and energy and strength. I had a procedure done by Dr. Mutafyan about 10 days ago called pilonidal cyst excision. I will tell you why I chose this doctor after going to about 4 different doctors who do the same procedure but a little different Dr. Mutafyan is the only doctor who told me he will remove the cyst completely rather than drain it. The difference between the two is recovery time but the removal of the cyst seems like the most beneficial and sure way to go about it He was very confident and literally explained everything to a T! Very simple. Step by step explanation of what excision of the cyst is rather than the drainage. Sometimes he seems overconfident but he gives you the confidence you need in him. The place is super clean and inviting as well which is extremely important and was a factor in my decision making. I would highly recommend him for this surgery Also for the staff. 2/2019 - They dont validate or provide Spanish speaking interpreter. They will turn patients away if they are unable to provide their own Spanish speaking interpreter. I saw them do this to a patient and strongly feel this should be communicated when scheduling the appointment if they notice a language barrier. It's unfair for people to waste their time coming, if they're not going to be seen. Plus, I saw online they have Spanish listed as one of their office languages. I had surgery close to 6 years August 22 2014 to be exact. Till this day they have never follow up with at all. Just first consultation, surgery then nothing. There staff back then were rude and didn't have very good customer service. The doctor never gave me a list of vitamins or a list of the stages of eating or how much water or protein to take a day. Till this day I haven't had a follow up in bariatric surgery since surgery day. Other surgeons are unwilling to see me because I didn't have surgery with them. Just make sure that they follow up with vitamins and a list of of what you can and can't have. read more

The people that work in this place are so unprofessional and they pack communication and costumer service big time. I came to this doctor with an authorization and an appointment for a follow up post op that my primary has referred me to. And i have received the authorization at home. It is far from where I live so I called before heading there to confirm that I still have the appointment especially that no one from their team called to confirm the appointment I only had the confirmation through text, the one who answered informed me that yes I do. I drove there to arrive so the front desk can tell me that i have no appointment then I showed her the text and she claimed this was not their phone number lol. Which is very stupid and so unprofessional. After this they agree to let the doctor see me especially that I have incisions that needs a doctor to look at. After I waited for a whole hour they let me in, the nurse checks everything and asked where I did my surgery and sends me to a room to wait for the doctor. 15 minutes later she comes again to tell me that doctor cant see me because I got no authorization. This was a complete waste of time, parking money and so inhuman and risky for my health. I believe that I also was discriminated against especially after I told her where I did my surgery and after they saw my ID. I never will come back here or even recommend this doctor to even animals not humans. So unprofessional read more

I am down almost half my original weight and have no complaints at all about the service that he rendered to me that has enabled me to live a much happier and comfortable life. Dr. Mutafyan and his staff have been nothing but wonderful to me ever since my consultation, and even after my procedure (8/23). Dr. Mutafyan is very knowledgeable, and answered all of my millions of questions. Even leading up to the 23rd, I called the office many times with multiple questions, and front desk was always very sweet. Lidya, Bianca, and there was one more girl, and one guy, but I completely forgot their names (I'm sorry) but they were all great to me.
