I weight190 now ,my weight was 430 before gastric bypass Gevorg Mutafyan saved my life I thank him for every thing he has done for me I had a lot of complications and he didn't give up on me he took care of me till I was feeling much better and I was released from the hospital THANK YOU To The BeSt SURGEON

Dr Mutafyan is an awesome dr! I have successfully lost and kept off 100lbs for the past 2 years. Every time I've had an issue and went to the ER he has always been able to help. However, the down side of this business is his staff. It's constantly changing and the staff doesn't know what they're doing. I've come several times and been canceled on due to their issues. So apparently if your appointment is made a month advance it doesn't matter because the staff doesn't put in authorization in a timely manner so the day of your appointment they tell you in person you aren't able to be seen. Ridiculous. Waste of peoples time. If your staff has time to put a note saying "authorization still pending" they should have the decency to call the patient the day of and let them know to reschedule not waste their time driving in heavy Glendale traffic. This staff is bringing him down. I can't recommend another Bariatric dr besides Dr Mutafyan because he's so good but just wish he had better staff. Good luck in your weight loss journey!

This was a horrible experience. My insurance had referred me to this doctor for a serious varicose vein condition. The doctor didn't seem to have any idea what he was doing and butchered my leg for 2 1/2 hours with a lot of blood loss. He had said it would take 20 minutes and there would be very little pain. This was not true and the leg was in agony for 3 weeks. To top it off, the vein that he was supposed to have closed didn't close. I went to a different doctor who actually knows his business and it was a totally different experience. This expert doctor did 3 veins at once, in 20 minutes with no pain!!! I could not believe the difference. Also no bleeding! I am shocked at the malpractice of Dr. Mutafyan and he should not have a licence to practice vein procedures. read more

I honestly don't know who is managing the place…read more While the medical service itself was excellent, the way security operates is deeply concerning--they seem to have more authority than the hospital's own CEO, Kerry Heinrich. Upon admission, we were provided with the hospital's rules and policies, signed all the paperwork, and clearly understood the disclaimers (e.g., personal responsibility for belongings, falls, etc.). After our baby was born, everything went well until the second night. I had to leave for work and asked my mother to stay with my wife and the baby. At that point, security--specifically the third-party company Allied Universal--insisted that I was not allowed to leave because, as the father, it was "hospital policy" that I remain onsite. When I asked to see this policy in writing, both the supervisor, Chris, and another security officer, Emanuel, refused to provide any documentation. They simply repeated that this was a "private hospital with private policies." This was never part of the paperwork we signed nor anything disclosed upfront. The situation escalated when a security officer, who claimed to have created this rule, became upset after I challenged her about it. Emanuel later accused me of insulting her, but my frustration came only from being denied transparency about a supposed policy that does not exist in writing. Mr. Heinrich, if you wish to maintain this hospital's reputation, I strongly urge you to review the conduct of your contracted security company. As it stands, they appear to exercise unchecked authority that undermines both patient experience and trust in hospital leadership. Thank you.

DO NOT GO HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I came to this urgent care when I sliced my fingertip and…read moreleft with damage to my finger which cost me thousands of dollars and multiple additional dr's visits to repair. When I arrived, the nurse submerged my wound in pure iodine then left the room, telling me to leave it in until she came back. It hurt so badly and she was gone for so long that I had to take it out. I called for help but was not heard. When she finally came back I had taken my hand out of the iodine and was bleeding into the sink. A dr came in and began using silver nitrate on a stick to seal the wound. I have since learned that this was wholly unnecessary. He kept doing it over and over again, even after I was crying and telling him I couldn't handle the pain again. During this time, another dr wandered in and started looking for things in a drawer. My finger was now charred black and swollen. The dr treating me then put dermaglue over the caustic chemical and I was advised not to wash it off for 7 days. This advice was incorrect. I was later told that I was supposed to wash it off the following day. When he was finally done, I asked the dr if I should go to the ER, as I suspected by this point that something had gone wrong. He kind of scoffed at me and said "unless they have a plastic surgeon there's no point. You're fine." The glue over the nitrate caused such severe pain that I ended up in the ER that night anyway. Following this, the silver nitrate under the glue caused an infection which required a procedure to remove the glue from my skin. by this point my nail had grown over some of the debris from the glue, and this caused repeat infections while I waited for a more extensive surgery to remove the nail itself. When I called San Feliz urgent care to ask that I, at minimum, do not pay for the appointment where this happened, I was argued with by the staff member. She went back and forth with me claiming that I could be lying about the advice given by doctors after my visit. She claimed she'd have a supervisor call me back and this never happened. My appointment was charged on an auto-pay, and they also charged my insurance the full cost of the visit. I feel in need of an advocate to help me navigate the situation further. This situation cost me days of work, 4 months of pain and uncertainty, and so much money. Please, please go anywhere else. I wish I had found a different urgent care that night.

I Absolutley love Doctor Mutafyan!!!!!! He saved my life and I mean every aspect of it. I was 320 pounds when I initially went in for my consultation. First of, I went through a seminar where Dr. Mutafyan explained the entire surgery including what we should expect to be doing before surgery and after surgery. He went over all the surgeries and the possible risks and all the benefits. He explained to us what we need to do after surgery as well. He was very clear to understand and he has a great bedside manner. He is a very nice and funny Doctor. After my consultation, I went in to the office for another appointment for blood work. They office checks everything for their patients and I mean everything!!! In order to make sure patients are safe for surgery, which is very important in my opinion. I was a diabetic with a very high A1C, the nurse over there helped me bring down my sugar so my surgery would be safe. Laura practically was my counselor and helped me with everything I needed to get done for my surgery, so everything was very easy for me compared to 2 of my friends who had weight loss surgery with another Doctor. My surgery was scheduled and I went through the recovery with no complications. I had some episodes of nausea and vomiting after surgery for the first month, which I know it is normal. The nurse and the Doctor Mutafyan were very attentive to my concerns and I felt I was being taken care of every step of the way. It is now 20 months after my surgery and guess what!???? I am down 200 lbs, i am 120 lbs, healthy, feel great and look great. I have made new friends and new relationships and I feel very confident. I cannot thank Dr. Mutafyan enough for saving my life. I had heared many good things about Dr. Mutafyan for a long time before I went in for my consultation, and I cannot be happier. Best decision of my life, great Doctor! I have the outmost respect for Dr. Mutafyan, sharp as a tack. The office runs just as competently as he does. The place is organized and spotless. My previous surgeon refused to operate on me I was suffering in pain everyday more and more, all he did was throw me out the door without regrets because my surgery was to risky. I struggled to find a new doctor, everyone turned me down I almost gave up I was always positive but had no luck with anyone of them. My pain was worse and I knew my surgery was very delicate, they had given me 30% of recuperation so no one wanted to help me, until one day I went to the ER and needed an emergency surgery it couldn't wait anymore. Out of no where Dr. Mutafyan came in the picture and he decided to do the surgery. Soon as I saw him and he explained to me the procedure, the way he spoke to me with complete certainty he gave me the hope and trust that I needed. I can't explain how thankful I am. I cannot say enough about Dr. Mutafyan he is extremely gifted and I have never felt more completely satisfied with a doctor ....much less a surgeon. Thank you so much Dr. Mutafyan for giving me my life back! I have now been a patient of Dr. Mutafyan for many years, he has done about six different surgeries on me to finalize my recuperation. I am a patient of Dr. Mutafyan. He is the best Doctor I have met. He is professional, Kind, caring and very generous. He really cares about his patients and spends all his time explaining everything in detail. I came to Dr. Mutafyan's office in October of last year, his staff was very friendly and all the girls are very nice. Everything I needed were taken care very fast, everytime I called them I got answres right away, and finished everything I needed before my surgery. I had my doubts because of all the things I needed to get done for my weight loss surgery, but honestly all the staff and Dr. Mutafyan made it very easy for me and helped me all the way. I had my surgery 4 days ago and I already feel like a new person. My surgery was without any complication and Shushana followed up with me right after my surgery to see how I was doing. I had to receive a pilonidal cyst excision. I held off the surgery for various years due to my own difficulties with scheduling. I received several consultations and had to cancel twice. Dr. Mutafyan and the entire staff were more than understanding and facilitated my complicated process with patience and sympathy. At last the day came to receive the surgery. I was seriously surprised at how effortless and painless the entire procedure was. Dr. Mutafyan provided me with clear explanations and appropriate expectations. I seriously felt no pain at all throughout the entire time. I highly recommend this surgeon and his encompassing staff due to their professionalism and their personable disposition. I went thru the process (bypass) Dr is amazing ! 5 stars to the doctor l! ( Dr Swan) He answers all your questions &visits you while in hospital for any questions and to see how you're doing. I am happy with his service. Now t for me the weightloss at almost 11 weeks post op, I have not lost much I think my body just sucks cant blame the dr just my body! barely loosing. Reason why I regret the surgery. Thats just personal. It doesnt work for some people I guess. They refer you to their nutritionist for a fee (makes process faster ) She is not great only good to clear you for surgery, but if you have any questions or concerns after she is to busy and ignores you. But she does want you to follow her social media! For what ?shes not helpful. Removing 1 star because they should find a different nutritionist. Some of the girls in the office are nice. Dr. Gevorg G. Mutafyan, MD, saw me after stones were found in my gallbladder which blocked the flow of bile that melted foods with cholesterol and oily foods in general. X-Rays were made of my gallbladder, and Dr. Mutafyan explained at the first visit that he'd seen these pictures and the gallbladder had to be removed. He also told me that gallbladder removal was his specialty, that he had over a thousand such gallbladder removals. He drew an illustration using a large screen with his laptop. I am a college graduate so I'm very sophisticated about a doctor who uses graphics to explain the complexity of the gallbladder. Then Dr. Mutafyan scheduled me for a gallbladder removal and my Norwegian wife brought me to the hospital early in the morning. Four and a half hours later, my wife drove me home. I have been to this office many times, it is a great environment and they offer multiple medical alternatives in addition to surgery. i went in to get information on weight loss surgery and Dr. Mutafyan took his time and explained everything in detail. He was very knowledgable and discussed my complicated medical history as i have had the gastric bypass before. I am thrilled i finally found a Bariatric Surgeon who is professional and very nice. My sister needed to see a doctor ASAP for an issue that was bothering her for a few weeks. I took her to see Dr. Mutafyan in Glendale. She didn't even wait for more then 10 minutes when Nurse called her in. The nurse was just as nice and efficient she checked her vitals, medical history before Dr came to see her and most of her questions was answered by the nurse. Recently had my surgery done I did the sleeve and I am very grateful I did it by Dr. Mutafyan and no other doctor. His staff is wonderful and very caring, they do initial lab work to make sure everything is normal before even getting to schedule you for surgery so there are no risks of cancellation. Then comes the preop after being scheduled for surgery couple weeks before you go in for preop's again make sure everything is normal last minute so no cancellation. They even offer IV hydration you can do before or after surgery to boost your immune system thank you so much Dr. Mutafyan and Dr. Mutafyan's staff. I would highly recommend their office ! read more

I had my sleeve gastrectomy surgery 2 months ago. Dr. Mutafyan and his staff were wonderful and they helped me through the entire process even after my surgery. I was one of their difficult patients I think and I called them every single day after my surgery. Al the ladies helped me with everything and answered my questions. Dr. Mutafyan was very nice and he did a full evaluation on me before my surgery, during my hospital stay, and after my surgery. I really appreciate him as I am down 70 lbs now. My coworker and friends always tell me how good I look and I feel great. I recommend Dr. Mutafyan to anyone who needs weight loss surgery. read more

1. The " Dr. " there will try to confuse you and sell you something you don't need. Beware! 2. I am seriously doubting the genuineness of the shots. I brought the one week program , it should includes one B12 shot and one lipotropic shot, after the nurse give me one shot, I was going to prepare other side for another shot, The nurse said you all done, that was a combination shots. ???? One shot for B12 and lipotropic? I don't believe that. Before I left, I asked about the expected results, "Dr" said with 5 meals per day weight watch and 3 one hour exercise per week, I can loss 2 Ibs per week. !!! Dr. Mutafyan is an amazing Surgeon! He was very patient with me and took my concerns into consideration. I had my weight loss surgery, the gastric bypass, about 3 weeks ago. I have had amazing process in this short amount of time and i am very impressed with Dr. Mutafyan and his office for making the surgery and the process of it very smooth for me, despite all my medical problems. Mary helped with with process of getting my clearances and Dr. mutafyan and his team was very helpful with scheduling and my post surgery period. I had my first Bariatric follow up visit with Dr Mutafyan today and I must say, I was immediately comforted by his presence and his expertise. This man knows exactly what he is doing and how to get everything done flawlessly, resulting in optimal results. Dr. Mutafyan takes his time to explain things in non-medical terms and explains all options and pros and cons, making difficult decisions easy. His staff is always helpful and attentive and the office is always super clean and organized and has a peaceful, calming vibe. Dr. Mutafyan is simply the best, pure person, excellent physician, honorable surgeon. read more

My mother is a patient of Dr. Mutafyan. She recently had a very complicated surgery that me and my sister were very worried about. It was a long process to get everything we needed, but Dr. Mutafyan's team worked very well and coordinated her care with her other Doctors. They scheduled her surgery right away, and she had an easy recovery. They were very carong and followed up with her care after surgery as well. I have been to this office many time not a surgical patient, but I always go in to get I.V vitamins. Compared to all the places I have been to, this place is absolutely amazing. I go in for I.V. treatment to this office twice a week and their service is very fast, the nurse Bianca is very nice and professional and she always monitored everything throughout the treatment. I honestly have been feeling so much energized and stronger with these treatment. I really love this place and I highly recommend it. read more

I want to start off by saying thank you so much, I am very glad I found Dr. Mutafyan. This office is very well put together and they have their individual departments. Everyone has their own duties starting from Bariatric coordinator, authorizations, and then surgery scheduling. Alisa is the manager and knows how to handle the office very well. They are professionals and know what they're doing. Absolutely made the best decision coming to this office. I am currently 6 months Post-Op and lost 70 pounds. read more
