Three hours here in their air conditioning was a fabulous rest stop. Arriving just after they opened today at 4pm, I enjoyed two delicious beers and a lot of wifi as I worked out my route from here to the next stop. Stopped into this little brewery after walking around Elizabeth City on a one night stay there. Was impressed with the selection and quality of the beers. It is located adjacent to a cool alleyway with inside and outside seating. We were able to sample a couple before deciding on our choices and also took our beers with us next door to grab a bite. Returned after dinner for another! Enjoyed a nice IPA - Cultivar - and got a 'crowler' to go. Also grabbed some "Time in the Sun" - another good IPA on the Outer Banks. We have been here before and had a good experience. Tonight was not that night..we came in to get a flight and try their beer. We came from Hampton because they have had good beer in the past. Nice quiet location with a great variety of beers. Too many places have a load of IPAs. GHB has a few, but lots of other selections as well. The darker beers are more excellent, as were the lagers I tried. Staff is friendly and attentive. I'll come back next time I'm in the area. Highly recommended. read more

It's a pretty cool brewery right in the heart of downtown. It is in an alley that is lit up at night. Totally safe area with lots of foot traffic. They had about 12 beers on draft. I started off with a beer flight to narrow down what I wanted. All of it was good. If anyone in your party doesn't drink beer then they do have several wines to choice from (white and red). Great outdoor and indoor seating. Complimentary popcorn when we were there. No wait service but just go up to the bar and place your order. No private parking. There is plenty of street parking downtown as well as at least one garage close by. They do take plastic and cash. Highly recommend! read more

Just the best place ever. GH is warm and welcoming to you, your dog, your kid, your grandma, and your friends. They curate their events to appeal to everyone in the community and the vibe is relaxed and fun. So many breweries go gonzo with IPAs but they offer a wide variety of beers and even house brewed seltzer with infinite flavors. I can bring my dog and my kid or I can come alone and be welcomed by the friendly beertenders. Thomas and his brewers take a lot of care crafting their beer - which is really nice because I'm 40 now and crappy beer gives me an instant hangover. Everyone there is super pleasant and I love them, but Sara is a luminous rainbow hummingbird that serves up positive affirmations along with a smooooth DIPA. read more

Best (and original) craft beer brewery in the heart of Elizabeth City, North Carolina!! We enjoyed visiting this Historic area where in the 1800's the alley was a huge horse stable!! The stories are wild with possibilities of ghostly sightings (hence "Ghost Harbor")! The craft beer at the GHBC is soooo good yum! Oh my Lawd!!! We decided to take my husband out for his birthday and chose to go to the Ghost Harbor Brewing Company before dinner at Hoppin Johnz. I absolutely love the decor and aesthetic of the old livery stable turned craft brewery. I also love the fact that it's family friendly. We were able to enjoy playing a couple games with our underage daughter and her boyfriend as a family, which was an absolute delight. The staff was super helpful and fully knowledgeable about each of their brews. The draft selections were awesome. The Saison was perfect. I loved the citrus flavors and peppery finish. My husband had a great birthday and is still raving about it this morning. Way to go, Guys! I have no doubt we will be returning very soon. read more

Ghost Harbor Brewing Co. is literally a hole in the wall, halfway down an alley off an unassuming little street. If you aren't looking for it, you will almost certainly miss it. But to those who make the effort to find this hidden gem, the reward is great! The beer is really, really good, and they have a nice variety on tap. Their black IPA is the best I've ever tasted of that style, by a wide margin; I'll get it again next time I go, if they still have it--they're often changing up their offerings. The space is small, but that only adds to the cozy, intimate feel, and even out-of-towners like me feel immediately welcome by the staff and other patrons. I only visit Elizabeth City a couple of times a year, but each time I make sure to stop by GHBC for a pint, and maybe a growler-fill. read more

I came to visit a friend in Elizabeth City and was blown away by Ghost Harbor! The exterior has beautiful lighting and outdoor seating and the interior is well designed and open with a sort of industrial feel. The beer of course was amazing. I had two different IPAs and then I mixed a sour with an IPA and was super surprised by how good it was. Super super fun idea that one of the bartenders suggested! Definitely will be back. read more

They have musical acts perform all the time, as well as games you can play while drinking your brews. The alley outside is nice. The lights hanging make it great at night time. The beer is delicious.
