First of all, this isn't my first Ghost & Gravestones tour, I've traveled to plenty of other places and have had many experiences with them, though this is by far my favorite. We had a lovely time with our host Valerian. He was so very informative, well-spoken, and funny! Understood social cues of when to make a comical comment and when to remain respectful of the heavier conversation topics which I value. The driver whose name I unfortunately am not sure of, I believe Ishlam, was very safe and navigated through the city with ease. Visiting the shipwreck museum after dark was also very cool. Our fault for choosing a late August tour in a non air conditioned trolley. too hot to enjoy, and we're from central Florida. Announcer had trouble enunciating, so we couldn't follow the stories very well. That coupled with furnace temps made it almost unbearable. If it's winter maybe you'll enjoy? I would give this no stars if that was an option. I would only recommend this if you have very young children who may enjoy a ghost story or some cheesy costumes. If you are an adult - this is a waste of time and money. We were looking for a tour of Key West with some interesting stories of people and ghosts that "haunt" the historic downtown. That's not what you get. You get a highschool kid on summer break dressed up as a vampire that puts on a skit that can only be described as corny and amateurish. The entire tour was very child like and was not at all what we were expecting. Also keep in mind you'll be outside in hells waiting room sweating buckets while someone in a vampire costume makes dad jokes instead of giving any interesting information. read more

Her delivery was engaging, funny, theatrical in all the right ways, and polished without ever feeling forced. She knew how to hold the group's attention and make the stories come alive. At the beginning of the tour, we were told that locals might call out, "YOU'RE DOOMED," when they saw the trolley, and that we were to answer back, "Yes we are, the Doomed." Took the 7:30 tour on a Friday evening. Staff was very engaged and the family enjoyed the stories. Good way to learn some of the history.

The experience and knowledgeable. The was the MC was very informative and very knowledgeable about the Key West area. I've lived in Florida since 1958 and it's nice to hear the history which should be taught in the but it's nice to know you can do a tour get the great history of Key West. The people passed present as far as being ghostly. I don't see that happening. It wasn't as scary and ghostly as I thought it might be, but as far as knowledge, educational and informative, I'd give it 100% the driver was excellent and the MC was excellent. read more

We've done the 7pm tour from Ghosts & Gravestones in Savannah, Georgia two years ago. Although that was 2 hours long, I felt like the tour here in Key West ran a bit longer than an hour- and I'm OKAY with that! This is my second trip to Key West, and never real thought of any haunted history here- but, don't be fooled! Gotta give credit to Bartender Joe for being so animated during his stories! Even while the trolley's in motion, he will plop to the floor! I LOVE how he presents enlarged photos (visual aids ) to show patrons. Can't be mad about not being able to pull over to step out in front of homes. All the times hubby and I walked by the homes during the week- and you finally get to hear the REAL history behind the properties. And although there are some stories that are extremely heartbreaking to hear, Bartender Joe felt he needed the victims stories to be known. P.S. Pros: --It's not a walking tour, and the trolley/bus is quite comfortable --It's only an hour tour --The talented storytellers know their scripts well and are professional, but also fun --It leaves from a great location right off Mallory Square --They have plenty of availability day of Cons --It's not a walking tour, so we were all over the neighborhoods but never really got our bearings and it felt like we were driving in circles (which we were) --The ghost stories, other than maybe the creepy count who lived with his dead love's body for years, were pretty tame and dare I say, boring --You don't go into the cemetery since it's closed after dark Overall, I wouldn't do this again. read more

We took a 630pm tour and it was overall just okay. The cast was not dressed as per the photos you see in these advertisements. They were plain clothed and no facial make-up, etc. The bus driver was tired from working all day at another job and coming in early for this tour since the original driver didn't show up. Nonetheless, he was friendly and did his job well. On this night, it was raining and mid-way it started pouring rain. We drove for quite awhile before someone on the trolley asked why we weren't putting down the plastic window covers to help stay dry. Ponchos were offered prior to this and I'm so glad I took one and wore it, otherwise I would've been soaked. Once the windows were down, it was dryer, but got hot quickly and every plastic window cover fogged over. There just wasn't a good way to go about it. The story teller was okay. She knew the script and told the stories well. I don't feel there was anything scary about this tour. My husband, my 12-year old daughter, and I took the tour and our 12-year old enjoyed it the most. The stop at the Ship Wreck Museum added some additional insight for our daughter. My husband and I stayed on the trolley as we had all just toured the museum the day before. Our daughter went in with the group and learned a couple other things we didn't during the museum tour. It was hard to see anything referenced during the stories and was a bit lackluster. The history was interesting, but overall, we wouldn't choose to do this again. There was no scare, no funny stories or fun, just listening, hoping to see something the cast member was pointing out based on where you sat on the trolley, and attempting to stay dry! read more

Hokey, and cheesy, but ya gotta do it. If for nothing else, to say that you did. There's some fun, and a lot of history spewed from the orators mouth as you travel along on your rolling coffin. You'll pass by haunting spectacles, and horrifying spooky crawling things, and those are just the tourists coming out of the bars! You'll also roll by a number churches! As if you needed more haunting memories of nuns practicing corporal punishment during your school days. My God! Will the torture ever stop?!! Speaking of stop, you get to make one along the way. No, not a pee stop, you should have emptied before you started on this cursed ride. The tour pulls up to a museum like building, where you enter into the "unKnown". Inside the stench filled room, you may even come face to face with Arch Stanton from Sad Hill cemetery. This tour could be renamed The good, The bad, and The ugly. For you'll meet all along the way. As you travel the streets people start yelling at you. My girlfriend asked me why I was flipping them off. "They're yelling at us" I told her. "No! The conductor lady said that when they yell at us we're supposed to yell back! Something about us being the doomed." Oopps. I must have not been paying attention. Maybe that's why the nuns beat me so much. It was a fun tour. You'll dig it. Make no bones about it, and lay your fears to rest in peace. Quick Tip: No alcohol consumption is allowed on board the trolley of camp. They're pretty strict about it. You don't want to mess with these folks, and there was no way we were going to. Our conductor of doom looked like she could beat the shit out of Mike Tyson, let alone this happy wanderer. "Slim" and none were our chances of getting away with such a breech of their rules. I guess that adds some charm to our evil little ride along. P.S. My girlfriend brought one of those glass of wine things that has a top on it. Thinking that she'd sip it along the way. After hearing the rules, and catching a glimpse of Miss buff, she thought otherwise. So guess who had to tote the darn thing around, in his pocket for the duration? Yep, Mr. honorable. AND to top it all off, when we were released from the harsh grip of the trolley of terror, my girlfriend took one sip of the wine, said that it tasted like vinegar, and tossed it in the garbage.
