This is truly a relaxing place to be yourself and not be stressed about anything. The pool area…read morehas a laid back atmosphere whether you're there at 7 AM or 7 PM and you are sure to enjoy good conversations and drinks with your fellow guests. Service at the cafe is very attentive and the staff are good at noticing when your drink is getting low and seeing if you want another one, as well as clearing away used cups to keep the area clean. I was really impressed that the happy hour for guests is not significantly "nerfed" down, with plenty of options available in every category of wine, beer, and mixed drinks so there is sure to be something you'll enjoy that is included. The key lime martini is quite good and you should definitely give it a try!

Island House used to be the vacation destination for us. This was our first stay since the remodel…read moreso it's been a few years. OK, where do I start? I'll start with the positives and then get to the negatives and rank them in order. Positives: 1. The palm trees and lush vegetation. 2. The decorations for pride and their 50th anniversary. 3. The food is still reasonably good, although the prime rib came out cold. 4. The rooms have been generally remodeled to be more modern. Negatives: 1. The room is cool in the morning, warms up by late afternoon, is hot by 9 PM, and doesn't start to cool back off until 2:30 AM. 2. The bar staff plays Spanish music only all day until you ask the front desk to have it switched to English to which the bar staff takes offense. 3. The bar staff is more interested in watching the FIFA soccer tournament than actually waiting on any guests. 4. The further you went back into the room away from the front door the weaker the Wi-Fi signal got until there was no signal. 5. The soap dispenser leaked onto the towels hanging on the towel bar below it. Instead of having it fixed, the towels were put on the floor. 6. The gang shower between the gym, indoor Jacuzzi, and steam room area smells like sewage. 7. The sitting area above the stairway and at the end of the hall next to room 210 is covered in and reeks of pigeon feces. See attached pic. Although the front desk and management are responsive, it used to be that these things were taken care of without guests needing to point them out or request they be fixed. Not sure if it's due to staff turnover and/or management turnover but hopefully this review will be taken seriously and help future guests as we will not be coming back anytime soon. My overall rating is a 1 because the negatives far outweigh the positives in importance for the price you pay. And when prices are raised, you would expect the service level would raise as well or at least stay the same, which, in this case has not. Please remember that you're in the HOSPITALITY SERVICE industry. This is basically lipstick on a pig.

Licia checked us in and gave us a great overview before we took off of all the things we should look for and the best place to set up. She was really nice and knowledgeable. Truly above and beyond customer service. Britt was a great pilot and narrated all the things to look out for on the 30-min plane ride to and back from Dry Tortugas. We only fly at 500-feet, so you can see the clear water and sea life on the plane. I spotted a few turtles as we were flying there. Best seat on the ride there is the right side and highly suggest the 8am half day. It gives you enough time to snorkel quickly and enjoy the fort. They also give you a cooler of water and soft drinks, which was perfect for a hot day. The early timeslot also avoids the ferry, which got there at 11am as we finished our 2.5 hrs on the island. We met a mother/daughter snorkeling who mentioned they saw a hammerhead shark while they were snorkeling! Most efficient and smooth way to see the Dry Tortugas. We heard the ferry seldom cancels, even if there are 6ft swells (yikes).

So cool to be low and fast over the ocean and lots to look at. Such a fun experience! The fort itself is massive and not in the best condition. Fun to explore. The snorkeling is bad. No other word for it, but the water was beautiful. Just not much to see.

I bought my ticket for the Old Town Trolley Tours Key West as part of the Norwegian cruise line excursions list and therefore, paid more than I would have normally for something like this. I have been to Key West a few times before and had seen many of the important sites on the island on my own but my friends were doing this trolley tour so I did as well. And I still learned a lot! Manny, our tour guide, was born and raised on Key West and therefore, had a great perspective on everything. I think he is the reason why I recommend this tour. Like many others have said, the trolley itself isn't too comfortable but it is sturdy, and you can get on and off as much as you want. As we were on a moving vehicle, I didn't get the best pictures so you probably won't either. Look up the trolley schedule and plan your get on/get off stops well. And try to get a local tour guide if you can!

It might be a solid tour of Key West, but we were wanting to get the tour while using the hop on and off part of it. We waited approx 15 minutes for a trolley at stop 11. There were 2 trolleys. I wondered why they weren't spaced out apart. But ok. We took it to stop 1 and did some touring and shopping. When we were ready to go, there are several trolleys at the stop, but no drivers. We waited a good 20 minutes before we left. They explained that they're only doing trolleys every 30 minutes now that the cruise ship had left port instead of 15 minutes. With how many trolleys we're going, why wasn't there a trolley leaving every 5 or 10 minutes? So then we got off at stop 5 to see what we wanted to see. By the time we were done, there were no more trolleys. I was very dissatisfied. Fix the timing. I have used 1 other system like this in Boston and it worked great! Trolleys coming and going all the time. I will not use this again in Key West or anywhere else this company is operating. Again, probably great if you're just going to do the tour. If you're going to use the hop on and off, start right when they start operating. I'm giving 2 stars because the tour people e has seemed to be knowledgeable.

Parking $25/day but that was waived, based on some package I unknowingly bought. But it's a lovely place. The decor has a simple, but grand/upscale, modern feel. Basic room's balcony looks out on Shrimp Road which is hot in the evening but has a good sunset view. Can be slightly noisy at times. It's cooler and shaded in the the morning. More expensive rooms face the pool and harbor. You need to understand the times... coffee in the lobby from 6-8 am (too early) happy hours for both eateries (start at 4 or 5 pm). Two eateries are on-site (Matt's Stock Island is a very expensive restaurant and Salty Oyster is also pricey but more casual, outdoor bar with lite menu). Depending on package, you may get $25/day food allowance. Go at happy hour to save more. This hotel has a great shuttle to town, every hour. It's about 5 miles away from Duvall St. so ebikes are great for this location. Parking is not easy so avoid car in old town.

Location - Not the closest to the old town or for walking to it but the resort does offer a free shuttle service that was timely, prompt, and had friendly drivers. A huge bonus to have this service at this place. There isn't much to walk to when it comes to restaurants, so keep that in mind. That is where that free shuttle is a life saver. Rooms & Building - The resort is right when you drive onto the island. If you blew the light, you basically would drive right into the place. With that being said, traffic noises were kept to a minimum. Rooms are fairly spacious and allowed our family to spread out. Amenities - The resort had a great pool area and even a hot tub (always a plus). We normally like to stay at places with a hot tub, especially for when weather gets chilly (even if abnormal), it is a god-send. So I'm glad they had one. The Key West vibe is celebrated here and it was fun to walk the property grounds and look at the tropical gardens and painted murals on the walls. Food - There is a bar/restaurant and a pool bar onsite. The pool bar whipped up a pretty decent Pina Colada. The pool barkeep was attentive and very friendly. She was practically freezing her ass off but still had fun with it. For food, we had chicken tacos and a grouper sandwich for dinner and it was great - fresh ingredients, large portions, and pretty tasty all around. For breakfast, we enjoyed the breakfast buffet and restaurant. Decent choices and enough to offer to fill your belly for another day of traveling and adventure. Vibe - Easy going and super friendly staff. No complaints. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. Price & Final Verdict - It was expensive for the one night we stayed (about $350 a night) but it is also Key West during the height of tourist season so I get it. Crazy enough, it was one of the better priced Hilton options on the island and it had a hot tub that kept us warm so it worked for us!

The best part is being able to walk next door to the newly renovated hotel and use their amenities lol. And don't use their concierge to book anything, I could have paid less booking on my own and he did not give directions for pickup drop off I had to Uber!
