I absolutely love Giant Eagle cakes their icing is AMAZING there is none like it unless you pay $400 for a cake trust me I have done this- I went for my birthday cake on Saturday I found adorable Santa cupcakes perfect my mom has been serving me Santa cakes since I can remember I asked the bakery employee to write on the board or cake for me and she said NO!! she would not do it some employee you got there when did Customer Service go out the window at retail stores? When did customer satisfaction become not important? I have worked for airlines for most of my career. I'm huge on customer service. I've been to this store three times and never again. For whatever reason the service stinks. The associates have a nasty, "don't ask me anything" attitude. They NEVER are pro active, i.e. "did you find everything," and if you shop early in the day you re really in for a treat, the aisles may be blocked with carts while GE associates "stock." Now, keep in mind, this is such a "taxing" process they are not to be disturbed with questions from customers or God forbid asked if the customer can come down the aisle. Where do they get them from? One thing for sure, they're enabled to get away with that kind of attitude. Id rather go ANYWHERE else than spend a quarter at Grove City GE. THE SERVICE SUCKS AND IT'S NOT THE FIRST TIME THEY HEARD THAT. read more

I used to like this store because they have some items that you can't find in other stores. Since they instituted their "we are going to charge you 5 cents per bag unless you bring your own germ-laden bags" policy, I don't go there much anymore. I was going to do a pickup order but when I saw they were going to charge me 75 cents for bags for 6 small items (they would all fit in 1 bag), I canceled the order. I only go there to buy the specific items that I can't get elsewhere and do the rest of my shopping at other stores. It's no wonder that people say that there is always ample parking and easy checkout. The place is usually rather empty. Unless you are getting their weekly specials, their prices are usually higher than the other stores and they still want to charge me to bag my groceries. For those wondering, the long line at the liquor store on Saturday mornings is for the release of rare, allocated bourbon. This morning, despite camping out early, we had to wait for nearly 2 hours before being told that the store only received 3 bottles. It would have been better if they were honest upfront about their limited stock, saving us time and allowing us to try another store. It's not like they don't know what we are standing outside the liquor section for. Finding bourbon is already a challenging game, but being honest with customers who are searching for it is the least they can do, especially when we try to be polite. read more

The man working at the bakery is amazing. I'm kicking myself for not catching his name yet. He's always there and gives such amazing service. Their cakes remind me of Safeway cakes and I enjoy them a little too much. I was buying cakes here once a week but had to stop myself. Just grabbed another cake today and can't wait to eat it! This store has one of the two liquor stores in this town. It is a separate area within the store apart from wine and beer. They have a good selection of bourbon with good prices but they were out of the one I wanted. There is a bank inside that had a very long line on a Saturday afternoon. This review is not based on a one time incident. My doctor will call in a medication and they do not start to process it until I arrive or the next day. I thought this was a great way to save time, especially when your sick or have a sick child but that's not the case. The next issue is my maintenance medications. I take 30 pills a month, the same dose, same strength, every day for the past 20+ years. The last 6 years or so have been filled at this location. Lately it seems they " have to order it " and this delays my refill by a day. Seriously? They fill the same thing every month and can not stock it? Giant eagle is a chain store so it pretty much boils down to location when doing a review. This store has always been clean and well stocked every time we have been there and the staff has Always Benny more than helpful and very friendly. Their selections are better than other chain stores in our area and my wife would much rather shop at Giant Eagle than anywhere else. We highly recommend this store to anyone. parking can be a bit crowded on a busy day but overall no issues most times. read more

I try to avoid this GE any time I can because they generally don't have everything on my list but will go when I'm in a pinch then when I'm here I remember why I don't come here! The Giant Eagle location I frequent is always well-stocked and clean. There is a Huntington Bank inside, which is convenient if I need to do any banking while I am there. They have a great product selection and their fresh meats and seafood are great quality. Produce is fresh and they have a great selection of deli meats and specialty cheeses. I love to cook and bake so many of the items I need for recipes are not stocked in other stores, except Giant Eagle. Although it is not the nearest grocery store to my home, it is worth the drive. read more

Store's nice and clean, including the parking lot. My parents come here to get produce, and they got me into the habit, too. They tend to have better deals on produce than Kroger (Georgesville Road location has produce of similar quality), and their produce is infinitely better than what you'll find at Walmart. The organic section isn't huge at this store. I've still found things here that I haven't seen anywhere else. If you're so inclined, their selection of wine, beer, and other alcoholic beverages is expansive, and their cooler is open to customers of legal drinking age. I've found my favorite beverage in the cooler where it belongs, rather than on the shelf. My only pick is the prices. If you're not getting something on sale, Giant Eagle tends to be a little spendy. Still, spending a little more for better quality is worth it. read more

I went in to use their dry cleaning/laundry service however all I wanted was some things pressed...my stuff specifically says do not dry clean. The clerk informed me that this was not an option. WTF? Looks like I have to take my stuff elsewhere. She was nice about it, but I have never heard of a dry cleaning place that doesn't just PRESS clothes. read more

I really wish this Giant Eagle would get it together. I solely go to Giant Eagle because of the Fuel Perks. I prefer Kroger's quality, selection and prices but they can't hold a flame to Giant Eagle's fuel perks. ANYWAY... I usually overlook the lack of cashiers whenever I come in, and I've come in at all times and days, its never any better. And it always seems they have the slower cashiers on weekends when they are busiest. Makes no sense to me. BUT I move on and continue to accept it. However, after my most recent experience with their pharmacy, I will be going to another location, even if it's farther away. My newborns are on Zantac and need it in order to be able to eat without screaming in pain. The pharmacy technician couldn't be bothered to call around or look in the computer system to determine if another location had the medication because they were out. She had the gual to tell me that she didn't have time, that there was 4 minutes until closing (she called me by the way) and she wanted to go home. When I verified that she in fact wanted ME to call around other Giant Eagles to determine if they had the medication, she said ummm yea. So the next day I called the Giant Eagle on West Broad and what do you know, they have a large stock of it and had no problem filling it for me. The technician's name was Monica at the Stringtown location. Rita, the technician at the Broad Street location is AMAZING and she was so sweet and apologetic. NEVER again. read more

If I could give his place a lower rating I would. If you're considering getting a job here or letting a family member apply, DON'T. They pay very poorly and the environment is all around negative and my manager would always nag me about my makeup not being done as if it was a job requirement. I would have the worst anxiety even thinking about going into work because of how poorly us workers were treated I had 3 good friends that worked with me and I'm sure they could agree with some of the things I say. read more

I really enjoy giant eagle cakes and ordered cupcakes for my daughters birthday party. When I picked them up they were blue and orange instead of blue and green. When they asked me if they looked good I said no they are the color. The employee checked the order laughed and said to the other employee "not sure where you got orange." I like this place and never had a bad experience here. If I had to say anything about what they could improve on I would say. Keep the liquor store open past 6pm on Sunday. Expand the cheese selection because it's pretty bad compared to most Krogers. Work on the restrooms and keeping them stocked and clean. Things I like about Giant Eagle is their fuel perks accumulate way faster then Kroger. They don't hike up the cost of their smokes like most other places like that do, but you pay a higher price on average for things such as charging 4.50 for the same lunchmeat I can buy at Kroger for 3.50. read more

This grocery store is the worst in Grove City. Poor management and front line employees often misrepresent what the store can and cannot order for you when you need a specialty item. It took over a week to get a call back from anyone there for a simple order of a beer Giant Eagle carries at other stores in the Columbus area. I wanted to order over 30 cases, but it wasn't important enough for anyone to return my calls or get me the correct info. Store manager Chris is lazy and inept. He makes no effort to help and only wants to kick the responsibility to someone else in another dept and of course that other person is no where to be found and isn't at the store that day. On Sunday, 10/27/13 at 12:44 pm, I made a purchase at this location. My order was over $170.00 and the manager checked me out at a u-scan counter. She told me my debit card failed and to try again. I swiped again and the transaction went through only to find out the amount was charged to my bank account twice and both transactions cleared on 10/28/13. On Friday, 11/1/13, I went to the store after I got off work and the same manager told me there wasn't anything she could do because merchant services closed at 5:00. I was told I needed to call them the following Monday. On 11/4/13 I called and spoke to Retail Services and they are aware there was a MC Network Service issue on that date between the hours of noon and 1:00 pm. There isn't anything they can do and I have to dispute the charge with my bank. Now I had to take more time fixing their mistake and collect a form from my bank that I had to have a notary witness. It could be up to a week or more before I receive my money back. Thanks Giant Eagle for screwing this up!!! I tried to complain to Giant Eagle on their website but the complaint wouldn't send....just sat there. I'm very disappointed in their customer relations.
