I will say that their plants and pumpkins during those times of the years are a bit overpriced but their mum's in the fall are really pretty. We do try to avoid coming during peak hours because it can get very crowded, very easily. I'd actually love to see them get a bigger building so that shopping was a bit easier for customers.

Last weekend we took a Saturday morning trip to the Hartville Marketplace & Flea Market, and it…read moreturned out to be such a fun outing! When you first pull in, you're greeted by the huge marketplace sign, and right on the corner is the garden center--complete with the famous Bigfoot that everyone seems to stop and pose with. I was surprised to learn that vendors can rent a 10x10 outdoor space for just $22 a day. The catch is you reserve the same day each week for four weeks in advance, since the flea market is only open four days a week. $27.00 under the pavilion but there's a waiting list. Before we started shopping, we stopped at Sarah's Grill for lunch. Their burgers were delicious--fresh tomato, crisp lettuce, sweet onion... definitely worth the stop! Then came my favorite find of the day... strawberries! They were advertised at $5 a flat. When I picked one up, I noticed a few moldy berries underneath. The vendor immediately smiled and offered them to me for $4 a flat instead. Sold! I brought home two flats, which worked out to about 16 quarts of strawberries. Of course, I couldn't leave without grabbing a bag of fresh kettle corn--that's become one of my favorite flea market traditions! Like any flea market, there was a little bit of everything--the good, the bad, and the ugly. Some booths looked freshly stocked, while others looked like they hadn't changed in weeks. But that's part of the adventure. You never know what treasure you'll stumble across. When we got home, I immediately flash-froze most of the strawberries, and the rest became homemade freezer jam. All in all, it was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning--good food, great bargains, and a freezer full of summer to enjoy later. Have you ever been to the Hartville Marketplace? I went to the meat counter yesterday around 11:00 AM. There was 1 meat cutter in the back on the…read morephone. He saw me and another couple standing in from of the meat counter. He came out from the back and walked right past us and went up a grocery aisle and never came back. This is not the first time I have complained about the men in the meat department. Cindy is the ONLY person who helps customers. Management needs to take care of the "privileged" meat men who act like they are too good to wait on customers. I am sick and tired of being treated like an invisible person at that counter. Therefore, I will never be ignored again at the meat counter because I will be buying my meat elsewhere. The privileged meat cutters should realize that your store is in a competition with the store directly across the street.

One of my favorite parts about Meijers in the large variety of aquariums full of fish to choose from. This location was clean and well stocked. The downside was I didn't see staff around the store.

And since they only tend to have one cashier open, a price check is a pain for the other ten customers in line behind you.

It's been a few years since my original review so it's time for an update. I am happy to once again…read moregive them five stars. I love Marc's Stores. This is a full-fledged supermarket with awesome prices which also offers closeout and deep discount items in other product categories. I live in Virginia now but every time I come back home to Ohio to visit family I stop at Marc's to stock up on items I can't get in Virginia. Troyer's Trail Bologna, Guggisberg Baby Swiss cheese, Hartville Kitchen salad dressings, Bertman Ball Park Mustard, Bell-View Sweet Onion and Beer mustards, Snyders chips and pretzels, Faygo sodas, Streb's Pan Pudding and more. I usually make it back home to Ohio once a year so every time I buy enough of these and a few other items I enjoy to last me for a year or so. Besides grocery items I take the opportunity to purchase discounted Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers and Browns gear along with Ohio State branded items. They always have amazing prices on these items. Marc's is located in the very busy Edison Park Center. The shopping center parking lot is large but can get pretty congested at times. There are multiple access points in and out of the shopping center. There is a traffic light to help control traffic which is a great help as making a left turn would otherwise be pretty challenging. There is nothing fancy about this store and it can get pretty crowded but the employees are always friendly and professional while efficiently going about their work. Everyone seems to like their jobs. I really enjoy shopping at Marc's and wish we had them in Virginia but at least I get the opportunity to stock up on items I grew up with and love on my trips back to my homeland, the beautiful village of Hartville.
