This is a full-fledged supermarket with awesome prices which also offers closeout and deep discount items in other product categories. I live in Virginia now but every time I come back home to Ohio to visit family I stop at Marc's to stock up on items I can't get in Virginia. Troyer's Trail Bologna, Guggisberg Baby Swiss cheese, Hartville Kitchen salad dressings, Bertman Ball Park Mustard, Bell-View Sweet Onion and Beer mustards, Snyders chips and pretzels, Faygo sodas, Streb's Pan Pudding and more. I usually make it back home to Ohio once a year so every time I buy enough of these and a few other items I enjoy to last me for a year or so. Besides grocery items I take the opportunity to purchase discounted Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers and Browns gear along with Ohio State branded items. They always have amazing prices on these items. Marc's is located in the very busy Edison Park Center. The shopping center parking lot is large but can get pretty congested at times. There are multiple access points in and out of the shopping center. There is a traffic light to help control traffic which is a great help as making a left turn would otherwise be pretty challenging. There is nothing fancy about this store and it can get pretty crowded but the employees are always friendly and professional while efficiently going about their work. Everyone seems to like their jobs. I really enjoy shopping at Marc's and wish we had them in Virginia but at least I get the opportunity to stock up on items I grew up with and love on my trips back to my homeland, the beautiful village of Hartville.

The business is locally owned and operated and the store is neat, clean and organized. Shelves are generally well stocked and employees are super friendly and helpful. Product quality is very good and the prices are very reasonable. This freestanding store has its own private parking lot which is clean and free of debris. The large lot surround three sides of the building and is more than adequate for the business. The store is located on the corner of Market Avenue NE and Sunnyside Street SW in Hartville. There are two access points from Sunnyside Street so getting in our out of the property is easy and convenient. I moved away from this area many years ago but when I come back I appreciate being able to find so many of the local products I love at Sommers Discount Market.

I reached out to the owners to see if they would be able to ship the bowl and they said they do indeed ship. They packaged it up nicely, kept in constant communication about when it would be mailed out, and provided the tracking number in a timely manner. The checkout counter is lit up with soft white lights and each little corner has something to see. Every time I come here there are new items; some that I haven't noticed before and some that have been newly set out. The staff is incredibly friendly and ready to answer any questions you may have -- if the owner is in, you might even hear a little bit of history about the building! Last weekend we took a Saturday morning trip to the Hartville Marketplace & Flea Market, and it…read moreturned out to be such a fun outing! When you first pull in, you're greeted by the huge marketplace sign, and right on the corner is the garden center--complete with the famous Bigfoot that everyone seems to stop and pose with. I was surprised to learn that vendors can rent a 10x10 outdoor space for just $22 a day. The catch is you reserve the same day each week for four weeks in advance, since the flea market is only open four days a week. $27.00 under the pavilion but there's a waiting list. Before we started shopping, we stopped at Sarah's Grill for lunch. Their burgers were delicious--fresh tomato, crisp lettuce, sweet onion... definitely worth the stop! Then came my favorite find of the day... strawberries! They were advertised at $5 a flat. When I picked one up, I noticed a few moldy berries underneath. The vendor immediately smiled and offered them to me for $4 a flat instead. Sold! I brought home two flats, which worked out to about 16 quarts of strawberries. Of course, I couldn't leave without grabbing a bag of fresh kettle corn--that's become one of my favorite flea market traditions! Like any flea market, there was a little bit of everything--the good, the bad, and the ugly. Some booths looked freshly stocked, while others looked like they hadn't changed in weeks. But that's part of the adventure. You never know what treasure you'll stumble across. When we got home, I immediately flash-froze most of the strawberries, and the rest became homemade freezer jam. All in all, it was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning--good food, great bargains, and a freezer full of summer to enjoy later. Have you ever been to the Hartville Marketplace?
