I do not recommend this Pharmacy. I have switched to another in the area due to extreme dissatisfaction- after using this pharmacy since 2007. I never had many if any prescriptions so I guess it's hard for me to accurately say if it's gone down hill or not but I know in the past few months that I have had several new prescriptions and the entire experience at Giant Eagle has been horrid. I really do hope that the management reads these reviews and takes them seriously as honest constructive criticism and tries to make things better. Trying to call the pharmacy and actually speaking to a person is nearly impossible. I had to call 20 times over 2 days to finally get through. Red flag there. Not enough staff. Secondly, when you finally do get through - you are greeted with overly rude, condescending and outfight hostile staff. Nobody should have to put up with that kind of treatment. NOBODY I blame management, the workers are just a reflection of their work environment and the supervisors they work for. Something is seriously wrong here. Not going back read more

If i could give this place no stars i would. They constantly screw up! Why do we keep going back? I have an automatic script every month, this time they said they put it back in stock , but its unavailable to be refilled until 4 days later , because they are out of stock!! They gave me pills that had someone else's name on it and tried to say, "it happens sometimes!" Come on people this isn't like getting the wrong food order, it's medication, life altering stuff! I obtain many prescriptions from this pharmacy in Peters Township. One of my prescriptions seemed to have fewer pills than I thought was correct so I counted them out and the prescription was short. The pills are each very expensive so I was very unhappy to have to call and make another trip to get the rest of the prescription. this is the first time that this happened that I know of but has created a distrust. I had excellent service at Walgreens in Canonsburg but my insurance this year has changed my preferred pharmacy. read more

Slowest pharmacy ever. I never took a prescription there (or had one sent from the doctor) that was finished in less than 45 minutes. One time I had pink eye, and my doctor called in a script for eye drops for me to this place. I purposely waited a few hours--miserably, I might add--to make sure that it would be ready when I went to pick it up. After 4 hours, I headed to Giant Eagle to pick up my eye drops. This was after hours, so I was hoping that it would be there because I was in agony. I arrived to be told that they had "just gotten the script". When I argued that my doc had sent it hours before, I was informed that there was something wrong with their system. I'd heard this before. I asked the cashier to please hurry, I was contagious. I still sat there, red-eyed and itching, for another 45 minutes while I waited for them to literally slap a label on a box and hand it to me. That was the last time I ever went there and I tell everyone about this experience so they won't have the same problem. read more

They are absolutely terrible here. I have issues almost every time I refill a prescription. I've been given wrong medications and wrong dosages. They are incapable of reading a person's medication profile also. They always tell me my prescriptions are expired when they are not. When you challenge them they suddenly "find" your current prescription. Recently, they told me they faxed a refill prescription to my doctor, but my doctor said I, "hadn't been seen, so I'll need to make a doctor's appointment." I called my doctor's office and they said that this was not true. The nurse at my doctor's office called them to straighten out the issue. At this point, both my doctor's office and myself are just disgusted with this place. I'll be refilling my prescriptions elsewhere. Avoid this place!!! BEWARE! AVOID THIS PHARMACY AT ALL COSTS! I've never encountered the kinds of blatant, hair-pulling errors like the ones I have encountered at this Giant Eagle pharmacy. This is the last time I'm ever using them, I don't care what kind of perks they give me for using it, it simply isn't worth the mind-numbing errors this place produces and the flaming hoops they force you to jump through to get their own errors fixed. I'm not sure if it's the workload the pharmacists have, inadequate staffing, poor management, inept computing training or what, but this pharmacy manages to cause some sort of error for you WAY too often. They were incorrectly denying my monthly refills of Rxs that I've been getting the exact same of for years, and I've just spent 2+ hours talking with them to get them to correct their own error, and it still sounds like they're not fully sure of what's going on! I literally want to bang my head off the desk after dealing with this pharmacy. Let me try to draw an analogy - Have you ever called computer tech support for an issue and been connected to some foreign guy who then doesn't understand the issue and you end up being re-routed all over the place just to end up back speaking with him? Multiply that frustration factor by 10, and also include that in these cases the fact that someone's life or medical well-being may well hang on the balance of their actions, and that pretty much sums up what it's like dealing with Giant Eagle Pharmacy at Donaldson's Crossroads! read more
