Mondays is an awesome, small little space. The owner, Sam, graciously let my nonprofit host two events there, free of charge. Beer is delicious, I love their sours. Nice little outdoor space too.

Stopped in since it was on the way to family's hotel. The bartender was great and helpful with everyone deciding on what to get. They had a nice couch area that was great for everyone to relax from their long drive to western PA. The lil one that we had with us enjoyed the people watching and the ability to stretch his legs around the table.

This new brewery is awesome! The cream ale and the amber ale are both fantastic. They also have Arsenal cider on tap as well, which is top notch cider. Sam has been working hard on his craft (and this space) and it shows. Looking forward to my next visit!

Yesterday this place opened had a soft opening and today, and Halloween they provided a grand opening. When we first arrived, the owner Sam Fee approached us and greeted us. He provided us the ability to sit inside or outside. We sat inside. He provided us with menus, explained what beers that they had on draft, which 3 was their beers and others were neighboring beers, along with wine from SilverMarks, Whiskey from Liberty Pole Spirits and Cider from Arsenal Cider House. You had to choose a food item. We chose the breadsticks and they're delivered via their partner pizza place, along with other food items from other areas. Since this is a PA law, it's required to have food. They allow you to bring your own food as well. We both sampled the three beers (Raspberry(sour), Cream Ale and West Coast IPA) They were all good, the sour beer isn't my favorite, but it wasn't bad where I could drink a glass if needed. I had a Cream Ale and a West Coast IPA. Both beers were very good. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. That is important. The area is a small quaint area. It's perfect to go and enjoy a beer. The owner noticed that when I provided him my card it was Ohio State. He asked if I attended there, I said I was a fan. He explained about me needing to go to a game when things open back up, I said I want to go watch them beat Penn State, sorry Penn State fans. Anyhow, he said he was going to try to provide me a discount, I didn't notice my bill until later and do you know he provided me a discount. What a great way to start your business. This goes a long way trust me. I will be coming back, this is an amazing new brewery. Looking forward to trying any new beers that are released in the future. I left with a glass, sticker and a couple of crowlers for the weekend.

Our own Southhills beer garden! If you are looking for a place to meet pals and have a good imbibing, look no further. Mondays offers some of the best locally handcrafted beer you can find. The owner Sam has done an excellent job with the various beer styles. My favorite is the October fest; refreshing, delicious and sophisticated. Check this hidden gem out!

This place was great!…read more I made a reservation online for a Friday afternoon by making a "event request" since I was arranging for a group of 8 people who were attending a burial ceremony nearby. They replied the next day with their condolences and confirmed that they would accommodate my request. We ended up needing to arrive early because the ceremony ended earlier than expected and everyone in our dining party loved about an hour away. So, we called to ask if that would be possible and they kindly agreed to seat us early/have our table ready. Upon arriving, the service was great; with our waitress providing prompt service and continuously checking-in on us (taking our order and refilling drinks). While we waited for our meals they provided us with complimentary homemade chips and dip. That was so nice, and we all enjoyed them! Our food was served about 30 minutes after ordering (which is pretty good given that it was for 8 people), and everything was as ordered. I enjoyed my meal (I had the chicken sandwich) as did everyone seated near me. I'd definitely recommend eating here as they definitely seem like genuinely nice people trying to provide a great experience for their patrons! (I didn't try any of the beers because I had an hour long drive ahead of me after a long day, but the food alone is worth stopping in for)

Our server was great to allow us to sample multiple beers as well to determine which we'd like to order. I got the Trail Rated Sour Series - Plum and really enjoyed it! It is a light fruited sour ale without overly sugary or heavy flavor. Very refreshing with a tart plum aftertaste. For food they have options made by Steve and Benny's Chicken Shack. Given the name, I had to try the Signature Chicken Sandwich. It was delicious! Crispy outside and juicy inside fried chicken, with a fantastic level of seasoning. Two thick chicken pieces stacked on a bun with your choice of sauce and toppings. I got hot honey sauce, which had a perfect balance of spice and sweet. As toppings I got tomato, jalapeños, and onion which are all chopped up almost like pico. Excellent flavor, filling, and home-made taste! I just wish I had more sauce to spread on my sandwich. Even the fries served on the side were good and fresh. Great experience!

Had my first visit here on a Friday evening this past August. We met a few of our friends here to…read moreenjoy a night out with some beer, food, and live music. I have previously heard of Truss and seen them around the community at different events, but was excited to finally try them at their storefront. Truss Brewing Company is located in Pleasant Hills, just off of Route 51. This building has been other businesses throughout the years before Truss took over. It is clearly marked and easy to locate. There is a private parking lot in the rear, but they will have it closed off and filled with tables during the summer months. However, there are other lots and parking options surrounding the building along Old Clairton if this is the case when you visit. We arrived just after 7:00, and the place was packed! They had the back parking lot closed off for seating, but luckily we found a spot right in front. There is no indoor seating here, as they advertise the business to be take-out only. Therefore, you can order online or through some delivery services if you truly are taking the order to-go. However, if you are "dining in," you can order at the counter inside. They will give you an order number, and then call the order number outside for you to come retrieve. First, we made our way inside to place an order. There was a decent line that went out the door, but we made it through that in about 10 minutes. Ordering was straight-forward, as the menu is not terribly long. For the beers, there were some different size options. Also, they sold reusable cans, crowlers, growlers, and mini kegs that can be brought back and refilled. In addition to the made-to-order food and beer, there are some snacks, grocery items, non-alcoholic drinks, and merchandise all for sale. After placing our order, we made our way to the back parking lot to find some seating. As stated, there was a live band performing and the place was pretty full. However, we did manage to get a table. There were picnic-style tables, as well as some bar-height seating. I also saw some patrons bring their own lawn chairs, so that is an option as well! The atmosphere outside was very lively. The music was good, there were a lot of groups socializing and having a good time, and there were some yard games set up on the one side of the lot. Definitely a nice spot to bring the family or meet up with some friends if the weather is nice. The wait from ordering to when we got our food was about 30 minutes. I know the food is prepared in-house, and is not generic restaurant pre-made-type food, so this is reasonable considering that. My fiance and I split a few dishes between us. We ordered the Chilled Colossal Shrimp, the Big Fat "Wings," and the Wood Fries Parm Crusted. The Chilled Colossal Shrimp came with 5 and a nice dipping sauce. I love cold shrimp, so this was my favorite dish. The Big Fat "Wings" are chicken drumsticks prepared like wings. Since it is a different cut, you get a lot of meat for your money. We ordered them with the buffalo sauce on the side as well. They were tasty, and again, a great way to make your dollar stretch for a lot of meat! The Wood Fries Parm Crusted are unique, as they are very thick cut. It is probably over a whole potato's worth of fries, so plenty to share. My fiance loves thick-cut fries like this, so he thought these were great. We enjoyed the food overall! For my beer, I ordered the Mortar, which is an American Brown Ale. I usually prefer a brown/red/amber-type of pour, so this was right up my alley. It was a nice sipper to have throughout the night. In terms of value, I think some items have a much better value than others. Specifically, I thought the fries and the chicken were very much worth the money. I personally did not order a pizza this trip, but some of those seemed to be slightly expensive to me personally. Despite that, you can make it worth your dollar depending on what you order and what you are looking for most. Since this place is take-out only, I truly did not have a ton of interaction with the staff, except for when I put my order in. I had no issues regarding this, though I feel as though I did not have enough interaction to make a comment on this aspect of the trip either way. Likely due to all of the seating being outside, the business is dog-friendly! We brought our dog, and he enjoyed socializing with the patrons and many other dogs who were there as well. This was a great place to spend a sunny August evening! I enjoyed the beer, food, and atmosphere at Truss. We loved the live music, and learned on this trip that they regularly hold a trivia night and other events as well. The only downside is that this experience is seasonal, and weather-dependent. However, the food and beer are available year-round, so you can give that a try anytime. I would recommend checking this place out with the warmer months quickly approaching!

They're located in Dormont, which makes this a walkable brewery for me (thanks to having friends and family in the area!). A friend and I did indeed walk over to catch up on a recent Friday. The place was surprisingly quiet - my friend mentioned that they get VERY busy during the summer, when people attend events across the road and want to buy beer to go with their market and/or food truck purchases. Speaking of food trucks, Hibachi Lou was parked out front on this particular Friday. So my friend and I got our hibachi orders at the truck out front; ordered our beer and/or cider from the bar; and took everything to a table in Back Alley's dining area to enjoy. While the place wasn't packed it wasn't empty, either; families and groups of friends were playing board games at every other table or so. So, what did I think about the drinks? I'm really glad Back Alley had Arsenal Cider on tap - I ordered a glass as my "sweet treat"/dessert after dinner. First though, I decided to try a beer. Back Alley, if you see this: I'm a BIG fan of sour beers and would order those if they're on the menu in the future! As of now though, no sour beers, so I ordered a "Snowed In" - Back Alley's spiced winter ale. It was a dark beer with a blend of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, hence the "spiced" moniker. While not something I normally seek out, I really enjoyed it and am glad I tried it! Altogether, it was a 10/10 experience - I'm so glad my friend and I came here for our Friday together. I'll be back!
