As far as large regional grocery store chains go, Giant Eagle is fine. I've never had a customer service issue or significant issue, apart from one lost item by their dry cleaning contractor, over years of visiting their Market District and the brand locations like this one. Staff is friendly and helpful, though as I'll describe in a moment, I manage to avoid them anyway. This location is the smaller of the two in the Cranberry area, with a scaled back selection to match. Produce is notably more limited, and some more unusual items are missing from the shelves (and one popular item -quite often fresh thyme herbs have gone AWOL). But, this location is also usually less crowded. Balancing that is the parking lot which could have a more convenient layout. The deli here often has a longer wait than other GE/MD locations. I'm about equal distance from this location and the Cranberry one, so why come here? One reason - the Scan, Pay & Go system. This is their mobile self-checkout system where you can use your smartphone or one of their hand scanners to scan your items as you shop. You scan a bar code on the way out the door, wave a phone for payment, and you're done. I don't even need to bring a wallet. And if you don't feel like talking to anyone, you don't have to. And even if you walk out with a heaping cartful of items, you won't feel the anxiety of blocking the self-checkout lane with all your stuff. The location is clean. In-store prepped foods and premades are on point. Breads and daily items are stocked up in the morning and top items like milk and yogurts are restocked throughout the day. I've had to ask for something (not thyme) maybe once in a couple of years. Good local grocery. Split our dollars between this location, Costco, and Fresh Thyme in Cranberry and the Whole Foods in Wexford. Due to the Scan Pay & Go system, I find this one to be the most pleasant shopping experience. read more

I don't know how this pharmacy could get worse. It's not the people who work there. It's the poor planning that makes it oftentimes impossible to pick up a prescription. It usually takes me 3-4 visits before I'm willing to wait behind either the long line of cars outside or the long line of people waiting in line inside. When RiteAid closed it took twice as long to phone in a prescription because of the long-winded recording soliciting RiteAid customers to move to Giant Eagle. They did this knowing that their facility was not setup to handle the increased traffic. But added profits were far more important than customer satisfaction. I'm going to move my prescriptions elsewhere as are many other people I know. read more

I really appreciate how friendly this location is. They must be well managed. My parents are disabled and older and who here a couple of times a week. I'm out of town but go with them when I'm back. They have a special service lane for handicapped people and they never act impatient or frustrated (my dad doesn't hear well and my mom has to use the motorized cart and it takes a minute for them to manage everything and check out. They act like you've made their day for choosing this store. It may seem silly but it's hard for my parents to get out and groceries and dinner are kind of a date night for them so it means a lot to me to know they are treated well. read more

Of all the Giant Eagles in the area, this is the one I actively avoid for several reasons. First and most importantly, the parking lot just isn't safe. It has very tight quarters. People tend to zoom in and out of here. I've had some very unfortunate curbside express transactions here, but the most important thing to note is that they're in-stock rate is horrible. It seems that every order I place at least half the items are out of stock, especially the items on sale. This is true whether or not a pandemic is going on. read more

I drive here to grocery shop most of the time just to avoid going to the Cranberry location which absolutely sucks. This location, while a bit further, is 10000% better for a list of reasons. 1. The service is good. The employees are all actually working! One of the bakery workers kindly showed me how to use the bread slicer, the man who makes that delicious sushi is always so sweet and offers my son lollipops, those working the deli counter are eager to take customers' orders, the customer service representatives are always quick to adjust when things ring up incorrectly. 2. The food selection is abundant and fresh, they carry the items I need and some items I didn't know I needed. 3. The environment is clean, accessible, and easy to navigate. Also, they accept WIC here unlike the Cranberry location! 4. A liquor store is attached - very convenient around the holidays! 5. Parking lot is infinitely better than the Cranberry location aaaaaand includes expectant mothers and mothers with newborns parking spots - a definite plus!! 6. Starbucks attached which is nice to have the option to visit after you've gone through the madness that is grocery shopping. read more

Full disclosure up front - I don't like Giant Eagle at all. None of them. So there's nothing uniquely distasteful about the Seven Fields location. I NEVER go to Giant Eagle - well, only as a last resort. We always buy our groceries elsewhere and will continue to do so. You can live your life without EVER setting foot in a GE - surprised? There are other, far better, less crowded options. And don't tell me about Fuel Perks. In my opinion they're not worth the aggravation of having to shop there. This location is smaller than many of the others and it is sort of a "satellite" location to the one in Cranberry. So it may not have all the things you're used to seeing at some of the larger ones. I can't speak to the Market District ones - never set foot in one of those. I think its relatively clean as well. What ticked me off recently was that I went in to pick up one item we needed for the holidays so I proceeded to the self checkout - one item in hand. It would NOT let me scan the item since I didn't have a Giant Eagle perks card!! It is a prerequisite to checking out!! You cannot check out without first scanning your stupid card!! I tried my credit card, tried to push the cash option, tried everything. It had to have that stupid card before it would do anything. I stood there like a fool until FINALLY a lady came over and told me I had to have a Giant Eagle card to check out. Really, she said that. "I don't have one." "OK, then I'll use this courtesy card to allow you to spend your $3".... Come on. That is RIDICULOUS!! read more

Viva paper towels on sale @ $4.99 rung up at $5.99, sweet peppers shelf price of $3.99 rung up at $5.99, snap peas at $2.99 were rung up as snow peas at $4.99. I like this Giant Eagle compared to the Market District in Wexford and the one in Cranberry. I don't understand the bad reviews. I've always had a good shopping experience here and I love the wine store adjacent to it. The store is clean and a good selection of everything. I like the produce here. It looks fresh and a good selection. Market District is too large and hoity toity and the produce at Cranberry is not consistent. I was told this Giant Eagle is corporate so they have stricter rules to abide by vs the privately owned one in Cranberry. read more

This is our primary Giant Eagle that we go to - mostly due to location. It is what it is - not many surprises here. They do have a wine and spirits section and the staff have helped us pick wine in the past. The staff in the cheese section was also very helpful with suggestions and opening wrapped cuts to allow us to sample. Parking is never an issue here. read more

Horrible customer service. Trying to buy alcohol and anything else takes multiple transactions and they are completely rude about it. Everything is overpriced as it is so I rarely go to any Giant Eagle stores. I won't be using them at all. read more

Check the expiration dates on products. This is a real problem with this store. Produce is pretty bad. How is it possible that a grocery store in western PA can't sell decent corn on the cob? I went there today to buy onions. They were out of onions. The most basic thing every grocery store should have. The prices are insane and don't correlated with their gas perks. I do not understand why the people of western PA don't get this. You're all being ripped off by a company that goes out of it's way to make sure there is not any serious competition. read more

I've patronized this store since it opened. It's well stocked, well staffed, and clean. It has a full service state store connected to it which is a huge convenience. It recently started to sell beer, as allowed in PA now, next to its dine in area. (It's not what I call a restaurant, but qualifies the store for beer sales. ) Giant Eagle is a great corporate citizen in western PA and beyond. I might pay more for some items, but they back up their products and give back to the community through diversified hiring practices, charitable donations, and more. read more

After shopping at the one in Butler, I realized how fortunate I am to live near this one. Clean, plenty of selections, great employees/customer service. I don't do my weekly shopping here, but I do my "need a few things" shopping here and it's great. I think Cranberry is dirty and hard to get in and out of, this one is easy access, always good parking available and clean. read more

Don't go between 4 and 5 weekdays. It's horribly crowded and they never seem to have enough manned check-out lanes. I used to hate their Pharmacy because they were terrible about getting your prescription ready for you on time, and never said, "We'll be with you in a moment" like they are supposed to. Some of them just continue counting pills without looking up to take care of 10 customers in line. I complained online about it, and maybe others did too, because they seem to have gotten more on the ball. But on the other hand, I find all of the check out people to be very friendly and kind. Also, their bakery has the best bagels and bread! And, on Fridays, they have $5.00 a dozen doughnuts - but go early, cause they sell out fast. Good veggies, Sushi orders, deli, - well everything is good. Best part is that we get the points for money off gasoline at the Get-Gos. And if you buy gift cards, you might even get a free tank of gas like I did at Christmas time. read more
