Not a review of Giant itself- Just wanted to shout out the Nalley Fresh within the grocery store. The server/staffer was very kind and patient to me as I'm dealing with some recent food restrictions/allergies. She wrapped up my husbands wrap nicely as well. She was also very sweet. The food is your basic Nalley Fresh. Nothing too outrageously special. But if you do t want super spicy chicken and a bunch of added ingredients, give them a try. *Note-if you don't know it's in Giant, you won't find this place. It shows up on GPS but there aren't signs leading you nor is it a regular storefront. read more

I have placed 6 online orders with Giant and 3 out of the 6 have been incorrect; prices did not reflect advertised sales prices. Today's order had 6 out of 12 items incorrectly charged at the regular price and not the advertised price. I spent 25 minutes dealing with the girl from Pickup who does not work for Giant, but Ahold Delhaize USA, the company Giant uses to handle the transactions via online ordering. Giant only fulfills the items ordered so Giant and Ahold do not communicate with each other. I spent another 7 minutes on the phone with Giant to no avail. Do not order online from Giant unless you want to waste your time. It is not a convenience. Just a major hassle! read more

I would avoid shopping at the Giant I have been a Giant customer for many years however today was the final day i will shop at any giant I go there daily today I did my usual shop paid at the shelf checkout went to get lottery tickets and went to leave the Cart locked up at the door and i was then asked by the security guard to check my purchases all had been paid for after all they watch you at the checkout, not only did the cart lock up but the alarm bells went off too needless to say, I was not amused, I understand the time out on the carts and the need to stop shop lifters but really I was in the store less than 30 minutes I am no longer shopping there, and I will let everyone know why They need to fix this issue read more

The shipping delays and issues with getting stuff into stores and on shelves has CLEARLY imo yes this store. As you can see in the pictures, this store is having lots of trouble getting certain things (meat, produce and other essentials) onto its shelves. On a high note, there was plenty of toilet paper, bread, milk and eggs available (the day before a snow storm (Jan 13, 2022). The check outlines were long, but moved pretty quick. The front end staff appear to be paying attention to wait times as more cashiers were operating more lanes. The parking lot is/was crowded as it is a shared space. I only gave 2 stars because of the lack of stock. Not all of the stores in the area are as bare as this one. read more

Got to the pharmacy for a vaccine appoint for noon 10 minutes early. I waited in the prescription. Pick up line because why not? I'll tell you, it's because they will not complete your check in from this side of the pharmacy. Only the prescription drop off line. There is no direction whatsoever implicating this. Once I waited in the second line they told me that I had to fill out the pre screening paperwork by hand because the one I filled out online is not loaded into their system from 48 hours prior. He told me only fill out the top section. I filled it out waited in line again to give it to him and he said you forgot the back. Then I submitted it again after waiting in line again. Then I had to sit and wait for 25 mins before they finally called my name. What was a 15 procedure at CVS was just under an hour at this giant pharmacy. Note: they were extremely busy when I went, but this is because they book multiple people for the same appointment time and they had 3 members on staff. Hope this helps people avoid trouble in the future! read more

How does a grocery store run out of eggs? Like...not a single egg in the store. In 2020 I would understand, but now? It's kind of one of the big things you can't run out of. Milk, eggs, bread. I avoid shopping here...I just think the store is cluttered and messy. Today my husband stopped in for a few items, including chicken soup for me, as I don't feel well. I managed three bites, not trusting my taste buds. Terrible. They have to have made it with something moldy. Never again. If I felt better 'd return it for a refund. $5 down the drain. read more

Smaller store than the Safeway down the street. Much wider selection of international foods for a food chain. They have one side of an aisle dedicated to this. Good selection of Indian raw ingredients. So so stock of Chinese, Japanese and Mexican foodstuffs. Decent selection of Thai foods. Giants run neck and neck with Safeway on prices...but for the things I buy...I find better discounts at Safeway overall. read more

The pharmacy is so slow. They have a line wrapped around the back end of the store and the employee is just standing around. I've been standing in this line for over 15 mins. Ugh so slow! read more

The main reason I go here is for the pharmacy I love Kelly . She is on top of her game . She is a tech in the pharmacy and really knows what she's doing , the produce has gotten better . However they need more deals . And the meat department needs to step it up . read more

Everyone says "Giant is so expensive, why do you shop there?" I tell em because I love their seafood selection and everything is always fresh. they have the most fresh produce of any chain type grocer in the area. Today my husband and I went to this Giant as we always do and instead of me starting my shopping I text my step father to wish him a Happy Father's Day. While I was texting my husband had started shopping and overheard the store manager complain about how he wishes he could throw out the grapes because no one buys them. To be honest as the store manager he should address his displeasure with his superiors regarding the quality of the produce. The only reason I shop at Giant is because the quality of there meats and I love the way the store looks compared to some other grocery stores. I go to Whole Foods and Wegmans for my produce because it is better quality. I hope in the future Giant will address this issue regarding there produce because it has gone down hill. read more

I went to this Giant the other night at 10 pm (they close at 12 am midnight). The store was empty and no one in line. The cashier who checked me out did not say a word to me. I said "Hello, how are you?" She ignored me. She was aggressive with my items and tossed them around. I was polite and said "Thank you" if she handed me a bag. It was just awful - no eye contact, no good-bye, nothing to acknowledge I was there, absolutely nothing. After I walk away, I hear her talking back and forth with her co-worker full of life. I was so offended to be treated that way. For someone to go out of their way to not look at you or to say anything, felt terrible. I don't need a warm welcome or polite banter, but I expect to not be blatantly ignored. It's so rude and I will not be going to this Giant again. read more

Produce is consistently not fresh. They have wilted lettuce sitting in the clear containers. Apples bruised, etc. Go to customer svc and they can't bother to look up from the terminal to engage with you. Aisles crowded with standing displays so people are always running into each other. Came in at 9:00 PM on a Saturday night and they did not have a single cashier at check-out. Cashiers were chatting at service counter. When automated check-out machine jammed someone eventually came, but still did not fix problem. I guess they are too busy to take care of customers at this Giant. I love this location and travel from Woodlawn bypassing a closer Giant just to patronize here. It's facilities are updated, they have roller handcarts for your small shopping trips. Every time I visit I never have to wrestle for a parking space, wait in long checkout line, or deal with a crowded store. The only reason this location does not receive 5 stars is because it does not have a fresh seafood kiosk, odd. read more

The store has been redesigned but its still not very good. They don't have a salad bar anymore and for some reason they decided to create a massive hand basket instead of just using a normal sized hand basket. Its too big too carry and too small to roll. Its just awkward. I live right next to this store and I drive 10 miles to better stores just because this one is not very good. They have a reduced selection of food compared to most stores. Its just a smaller store and can almost be considered more of a convenient store to me. I only go when I have a couple things to buy and need them quickly. read more

I absolutely love this store! I am here several times a week and I have never had a bad experience. If you can't find something you want, ask for it and it will be there the next time you go. All the employees go out of their way to help if you ask for it. And they are all very polite. Will not buy anything from this store that requires a clerk handling the food! Went to the deli department for lunch meat and after I told the clerk what I wanted, he put on gloves and started to stroke another employee's back after he moved her hair. Then he got my ham to slice...NO WAY!!!!!!!!!! So disgusted!!!!! Customer service is absolutely terrible at this Giant. I am a very satisfied customer with your deli department, I am a frequent customer and I have noticed a new employee in the deli department who was very friendly and upbeat. She had a smile on her face and was able to inform me about the deli meats and other sides to compliment what I was already purchasing. She also was very quick with getting everything I needed. I have noticed the change that she makes to the deli and I know it is hard working in customer service but her attitude was amazing and she brightened my day to see that there are still employees that work in customer service and have such a great attitude and pride in there job.
