Called in to speak with florist to get some balloons ready for a party today. Was told by customer service "she was out for the day call back tomorrow" I then replied I just need balloons, not flowers..... he said we don't take orders over the phone id need to come in. 10-15 mins later I show up to the florist counter and customer service lacked highly..... it was upsetting to say the least. 25 mins later I leave with my balloons to get outside an one 14.99 balloon breaks free and off it goes. I was so over this visit and service I didn't bother walking back inside because after the phone call and store visit today I was over it! On left: the cake that I ordered directly from the book in their bakery department. On right: the cake that I received a day later than my original requested date/time. When I showed up to pick up the cake, the woman working said she did not know which cake I wanted. My phone number and all the details were on the original order form yet I never received any phone call or a voicemail clarifying my order. They waited until the time I came to pick it up. Fortunately, I was able to give them an additional 24 hours and showed them the picture in their bakery book. I returned the next day to pick up the cake, and this is what I received. HORRIBLE I was just there to get one thing, and it was in an aisle that I couldn't find. I tried to ask a worker there, but she had her headphones in. I had to yell at her to get her attention. I received the best customer service--friendly, fast, and incredibly accommodating. They put together exactly what I needed on short notice, and I couldn't be more grateful. 7/23/20 update. Social distance encouraged and staff wear masks. Only the northeast entrance in use. They always have what I need, and unlike Weis the produce and dairy items aren't old and nearly past their prime. Prices are higher than food lion or Weis. Biggest drawback is lack of cashiers. Road trip to this place. The staff are friendly and nice. The store nice and clean. We all made a each person $10 budget food shopping.

I placed a catering order a week before I needed it. I called at 845am. the day that the order was due to be picked up at 1pm to confirm my order. When I went to the store my order was not ready I waited paiently. My luncheon was to start at 2pm. I asked if they could give me the info on my order so I could go and pay for it they could not get that info together. They put 2 of the trays on my cart I had to ask for the rest of my order then I asked where the dessert is they pointed to the bakery and said that's not my department I walked to the bakery department to get what I ordered they did not have what I order and had to get some thing else. Apparently, no one even bothered to look at this catering order ahead of time. I had to get another cart for all of my order. Once I finally got everything, I pushed my 2 carts up to the checkout and told them how upset I was the manager apologized. One one even bothered to offer help with the 2 carts I was pushing. My luncheon started late, thanks to Giant. A coworker ordered flowers a week before we needed them, and then someone from the floral department called my coworker the day before and asked her a few questions it was like they didn't even take the week before. When she went to pick up the order. It was not what she ordered she did accept the order, but it was not exactly what she ordered. I will never go back to Giant. They don't seem to know how to run a deli and the floral department is completely clueless!! read more

This is specific to their online shopping pick-up service, and I'd give 10 stars if I could. Rebecca is professional and a pleasure to do business with both over the phone and in person. After dealing with Harris Teeter pick-up service and having at least one issue in every order, it was so nice to see a pick-up service run like a well-built machine. Perfectly organized, bags didn't rip because they weren't overfilled, they take them back to recycle when you go back on your next visit. There were all kinds of freebies and I even got one of my deli meats free. Great work, great leadership, and excellent coordination. I will be returning to Giant now after over a year of going to HT. read more

I ordered my groceries for drop off a week in advance. I had my time slot reserved. They cancelled it THE NIGHT BEFORE. I hadn't done any shopping at Andrew's commissary when I was there two days ago because I was relying on this delivery. It is completely unacceptable for them to cancel on me with barely any warning. This was my first and last time using giant delivers. Awful! read more

This store has out dated food and the Pharmacy is rude and treat the patrons horribly. If I could say in one word how awful this store is I would would have a hard time. I recommend driving the extra 25 mins to Prince Frederick. read more

I enjoy shopping here albeit its very pricey. The payoff is there is practically no wait to checkout and the staff are very friendly and helpful. This place is very clean and well stocked. Perhaps my only peev is that the deli kiosk located at the front of the store is often no working properly and my order doesnt always register. =-( All-in-all this is a great place to shop--as long as your not trying to keep it cheap. Target and Wal-mart are WAY cheaper. read more

Not much to choose from in the southern end of the county, but Giant is the lesser of the evils. Produce is crappy but better than Weis, and that's not saying much. I don't understand why they can't get decent produce around here. Prices are high as well. I do like the hand held scanners and the self checkout though. read more

Their standards for freshness seem lower than they used to be. I've gotten bad fish a couple of times and hamburg that wasn't fresh. Yesterday I came home with a pork shoulder with an expiration date of 3 weeks from now. When I opened the package, the putrid smell was overpowering. This store is always clean, bright, and nicely stocked. The employees are friendly and will go out of their way to say hello. The parking lot is thoughtfully designed (I'm looking at you, Prince Frederick Giant). I wish they had the self scan option, but that's a minor inconvenience. read more

Clean & Easy to get around. I find the best time to go would be after 6pm on the weekdays unless you're an early bird and don't mind the 6-8am ordeal. Very close to home as well, so you can't beat that! read more

This Giant has really gone down hill since the change in store Managers. The woman who last ran the store was always around making sure it was run well and helping out. She's gone , the new manager stays out of sight and it shows. Lines are long , few checkouts are open. Not to mention the meat is spoiled before the date expires on it. Shelves aren't kept stocked either.I've also had Giant workers stand around at the end of the self checkout lane instead of bagging my groceries. Clearly that's what there being paid to do . I only shop here for the gas points. Today we bought Perdue chicken strips with a sell by date of tomorrow. When my husband opened the plastic pouch to begin cooking the chicken, the meat was spoiled. We always have trouble with the milk as well, even with a good date. read more
