I did groceries today I checked my receipt and two items were the wrong prices. They charged me more oranges and chopped walnuts. Check your receipts before you leave the store. This 5 star review goes out to the bakery and fresh-cut fruit ladies who helped me today. I pre-ordered 24 chocolate covered strawberries and also picked up some pre-cut fruit for my father's birthday celebration. Everyone was so kind and my order was ready as promised. Gorgeous HUGE berries dipped in chocolate and decorated with "Swizzles" in Pink and dark Brown. Kelly, my favorite Saturday-only cashier was there, too! I was passing through the area this morning after Thanksgiving and stopped in. I had to review to shout out an employee that helped me. I was looking for a very specific brands of nuts I had gotten at a Giant before, and it said on the nut's website locator that they were at this location. I came in right after store opening on Black Friday which I know as a retailer worker myself, is going to be crazy at stores everywhere. I couldn't find the product in the regular or organic nut aisles, and asked a younger lady who worked in the organic section about the product. She walked me all around the store helping me hunt it down until we found it because the system said it was in stock. and it was in a very random and un-obvious area, so I really appreciated her help! You don't get service like that often anymore especially in a busy store with so many products where it could be easy to say "I don't think we have it anymore sorry". Also, this is one of the nicest Giants I've ever been to. Very very clean and well-kept. It looks newer but I'm not sure if it is. One last note, as someone who merchandises and sets up displays and store layouts for a living myself, this store is organized and labeled pretty well. A pet peeve I've had with multiple Giants before is the way some of the product is organized and split up, specifically vegan items being split between specialty aisles and the areas where the traditional non-vegan items would be which makes it confusing to find and compare like-items. I found it to be much easier to locate and grab what I needed upon entering the store (aside from those nuts!) read more

The new store design is very industrial looking, which isn't very inviting. It is neat they have so many departments available. There have been several times when I have had difficulty purchasing fresh items because the options were moldy. The only reason I continue to shop here is because of the free curbside pickup, which makes shopping very convenient. The Giant Direct staff has always been pleasant. read more

This is your normal grocery store. I am happy to see that they have modern conveniences such as a machine that allows you to order and pick up your order when you are finished shopping. They also have your typical self checkout area. Their salad bar is pretty good, and they have a beer and wine section. Something I miss is a place to buy coffee. I used to like to drink a coffee while shopping but this seems to be disappearing all over. I am glad that the sell Boars Head meat and cheese as those are the best for taste and quality. The only thing more appalling than the lack of management is the behavior of customers and the way they treat associates, unwanted product thrown in places that'd warrant them out of temp, subs left in spots with little relevancy, some of us provide ball-sucking service and still get told to "get the fuck out of my way", half the time product can't be put out because of department cluttering or just plain ignorance on customer behalf (standing mid aisle texting Stacy about those cheese shop almonds). I relocated from out of state. When I was growing up on Sundays my parents always shopped at Giant for everything. This is the only grocery store we ever went to in Virginia. It feels good knowing my family's favorite grocery store right here in Doylestown. The entire store very clean, organize, well stocked with friendly staff. In light of the recent Covid19, Giant has set guidelines, and NOT follow throught with them. As a senior, the hours for us are from 6-7 AM. That is fine. But recently, I braved the public store for shopping at 6:00 AM. Not only was it very busy, but it was soon clear, it was NOT seniors only. Many a young mother was there, among others, that were clearly NOT seniors. If Giant is going to put this into effect, why isn't it monitored? Also people did not follow distancing, which nothing can be done about. At checkout at 6:30AM, there was only one register open, with a long line, so just used the self checkout , which was monitored for people to use every other one. That's great. Won't go here again! The bakery is the best! I have gotten both of my daughters' birthday cakes from here for years. Placing the order is easy and the cakes come out delicious, not dry, and beautiful. What is the point of opening a new store and putting in a hot bar if it's never open? People are still looking for fresh hot food at 7 and 8 pm. Also it IS difficult to find items there because of the way it's set up. Where are the cashiers? Funny how these big corporations keep getting greedier and greedier. I'm a regular Giant customer, and I've recently been very happy to see their efforts to maintain a safe shopping environment. Today, not so much. I put in an order for delivery and met the minimum dollar amount for delivery and secured a delivery spot. Then one item became out of stock so the order fell below the minimum dollar amount. Giant then cancelled the order with no notice to me and I lost my delivery date. I tried to get the delivery back by increasing the order amount back above the minimum but could not restore the order. Who designs systems that work like this? I had to reenter the order and post it for two weeks out since there were no more near-in delivery time slots. I also had to significantly over order so that if anything falls out of stock, I don't fall below the minimum. Again, who designs systems that are this difficult? MARCH 20, 2021: I was just shopping at the Giant Foods Store at 4357 Swamp Rd, Doylestown, PA 18901 when I saw a customer in the store who was not wearing a mask. I asked the Service Manager if the store required all customers to wear masks and she said no. She said corporate policy allows customers to wear or not wear masks at the customer's choosing. She said if a customer does not have a mask, they will offer a free mask, but if the customer declines then they can't force them to wear a mask, and Giant cannot ask them to leave. She also said they cannot ask anyone about their personal health. However, according to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Health's website, "In Pennsylvania,masks are required to be worn indoors and outdoors if you are away from your home. When outdoors, a mask must be worn if you are not able to remain physically distant (at least 6 feet away) from someone not in your household the entire time you are outdoors. When indoors, masks are required even if you are physically distant from members not in your household.This means that even if you are able to be 6 feet apart, you will need to wear a mask while inside if with people other than members of your household. This applies to every indoor facility, including homes, retail establishments, gyms, doctors' offices, public transportation, and anywhere food is prepared, packaged or served." Although Giant is my supermarket of choice, I won't be shopping at Giant until they adhere to the Commonwealth's requirements, or until the COVID pandemic is over. I'm 73 years old. I've had a heart attack. I have 2 stents, 50% blockage in the third artery, a leaky heart valve, and high blood pressure, and I'm still waiting to be vaccinated. How dare Giant put me at additional risk for the sake of corporate profits. I find their corporate policy reckless and irresponsible. I've filed a formal complaint with the Pennsylvania Department of Health. read more

My least favorite shopping experience in Doylestown. They have done a very poor job of enforcing social distancing and other guidelines during Covid. When that lady that lives with me starts talking about the fact there is no more food in the house I make my way over to Giant. I love how they have beer. My suggestion would be to buy two draft beers for a quick slam down and buy a six pack of cans for your shopping journey. That way once the draft is gone you have the cans to walk the store. Make sure you get a bag for your six pack. They get upset when you throw your beer cans on the ground or randomly at other customer that love to park their shopping cart directly in front of all the milk so you cant get in. They got all your standard stuff. I usually buy stable items and bleach. Only compliant is no bike rack. This store needs to be renovated. The building is old and small compared to the Giant in Souderton, pa. In addition, the shelves at times are empty and the produce section is not clean. A few times, I seen customers open candy bag for their children and not pay for it or leave it on the shelf opened (who do they think will buy that bag of candy). That's theft. This store is super outdated, never has anything I need in stock, the meat and seafood selection is always terrible, just today I went for some salmon, no one was at the counter so I walked around and got a couple things, finally came back and waited no one came out for a solid 5 minutes. On Friday September 15, 2017 I went shopping at the Giant Foodstore at 4357 West Swamp Road in Doylestown where I have been a customer for four years. I have generally found the store average with respect to product variety and the assistance of employees. This time, however, I encountered a situation that I found absolutely deplorable: a customer with a lapdog in the food basket of a cart! As both this customer and I shopped in the store I did not see a single employee who spoke up about this. Eventually this customer visited the service desk at which time I spoke with her. She claimed that the lapdog was a service dog and this is what she usually did. The employee at the service desk did not react so I asked for the manager. The manager, and assistant manager, came to the service desk and I asked why this was allowed. The manager claimed that this was a long-term customer and she was allowed to do it because it was her service dog and that "service dogs could go anywhere a person does", apparently including the food basket of the shopping cart... The customer now stated that she usually brought her dog blanket with her to put in the food basked but forgot it this time. I found this to be rubbish, a complete lack of respect for other people both by this customer and the store manager. I cannot imagine that service animals, including dogs, are allowed to ride in a food basket where customers place their merchandise. The manager did not want to address this situation so I told them that this was the last time I set foot in this store and was taking my business to another store. So, if you don't want potential dog hair, feces, urine and whatever else, among your food items, don't shop in this store! I am filing a complaint with the department of health and with Giant main office as well. read more

We went to this Giant in Doylestown today after our favorite store recently closed and what a terrible experience! The lady at the fish counter was the rudest person and I was so upset I actually was shaking. Then when we checked out, I asked the cashier very simply if the discount would come off at the end and he mumbled "I don't know". I don't think this will be our new grocery store. read more

This store is evidently unaware of its association with Stop & Shop and Peapod. We have attempted to use Stop and Shop gift cards at this location and have difficulty each time. The corporate office assures me this shouldn't happen and the store needs training. Very cheap and big GIANT. I like the prices and i really like the employees. The butcher shoppe manager liked me! I come to this GIANT to buy Silk Fruit & Protein and other general grocery. I used to shop here as my regular store. I stopped going here because of their cashiers. Multiple times I have been in here and cashiers refuse to bag. I've stood at the end bagging my groceries while people are waiting and the cashiers just stand there watching you bag. I used to work at giant, your job as a cashier is to ring people up, bag items, and do it in a courteous/timely manner. None of that happens here. I realize it's not the most rewarding or high paying job, but it's a simple one. I'm in no way lazy, or feel someone should bag my things for me, but when multiple cashiers just stand there like robots waiting for their next cue, I might as well use self checkout. I now drive an extra 15 minutes to go to wegmans instead. I'm writing this review today because I stopped in this giant again and it happened again, cashier stood there doing nothing while i quickly bagged because again, there was a line. ABOVE AND BEYOND IN CUSTOMER SERVICE! Shopping today for guests staying for a while. Asked two people where to find something and not only did they tell me - they offered to get it for me!!! But the biggest delight was Ron in CS. A "newish" cashier forgot to give me a bag of items she bagged - I bagged most of the rest of the items. Some of the items I came home without were items meant to be prepared tonight. I called - and CS was aware of the missed bag of food. I live about 25 minutes away and could not go back same day (about an hour+ RT as rush hour was starting). I asked if Giant could deliver the items. Ron was amazing....he re-shopped the items and delivered them. On top of this I was given beautiful flowers, a fresh fruit tart and a complimentary cooler shopping bag for the inconvenience. Amazing! Truly impressed and grateful. Thank you Ron and Giant! I have been a Giant shopper for about 16 years and will continue to be one as long as I am in PA! read more
