Every time I have put an online order in at this store it has been very very incorrect. It is very apparent that the employees do not look at the actual product names and go off of pictures and the mistakes made are careless. The last time I was over charged for items I did not even receive. When we went back to correct the mistakes made the employee who said picked the order because aggressive and assaulted my boyfriend. read more

The Chinese restaurant in the Giant supermarket is under a new management. Food is great I got the pepper steak and the bourbon chicken service was a little slow but friendly. I have been having recurrent problems using bonus points for the last month. Either they disappear after I loaded them based on my purchases or the redeemed points don't show up at time of purchase. I've had several conversations with "customer service" people & they are either dismissive of my problem or they claim to replace the points & they once again disappear before I can use them. Giant's reaction can best be described as arrogance based on their position in the marketplace or part of a scheme to fool the IRS that they are distributing customer benefits that are not actually going to the customer. Great prices and open 24/7. They also have a wine and beer section and a Starbucks. The Starbucks doesn't have a full menu and the staff is about as knowledgeable as my dog, but they have wine so all is forgiven. They have great mix sixes and other cool IPAs. read more

I love this store because most of the time, the prices are better than most (Genuardi's usually has better prices on cereal, but they are random specials) AND because they have the one thing I go out of my way to get here for: FREE BABYSITTING ON SITE. Yes, that's right, you heard me....a fun "Treehouse" for the kids to do just about any activity you'd find at a preschool and beyond like movies, kid-friendly computer-type video games, a play kitchen, toys, blocks, tables & chairs to sit and color, and that's just what I noticed from outside the registration window. No kids go in or out without a check of the matching wrist bracelets between parent and child and I shouldn't have to say this, but I'll just add that of course, you have to stay in the store while they are in there. You have an hour and a half then they will page you on your walky talky to come pick them up. They will also call you if your child (age 3+ only) makes a stinky lol so you can change them or take them to the potty. Anyway....it is a clean store, the selection is good, and the management is out and about making sure customers are happy. The deli people are awesome and pleasant, unlike some other grocery stores near me, they are not slow, sloppy or crazy in the head. The cafe area is really nice, has a good variety of lunch options, and the pizza is decent (and priced nice). There are plenty of tables in the lounge for dining, comfy chairs and a fireplace in the corner, and a conveniently placed coffee bar right next to it. I like to bring the kids there to have a snack or lunch (and a coffee for me!) before I drop them off at the treehouse and do my shopping. Finally a place closer than Wegman's (and maybe better thanks to the babysitting!) that makes grocery shopping enjoyable again! I highly recommend this store. read more

Prices are fairly reasonable if you catch it on sale. A huge variety of any type of food. Don't believe me? Check out the salad dressing aisle. TONS of options from brands you didn't know offered that flavor. I am a big fan of their bakery. When I host brunch at home, I come here for their donuts and bagels and my guests are shocked when I say it's from Giant. And surprise surprise, they also make cronuts! And the cronuts are the same price as their other donuts, so definitely a good value. Definitely my go-to supermarket in the area. I think I live closer to the roslyn Giant, but this one definitely is the superior of the two, so I make the extra trip for this place! And I believe this one is considered Super Giants, at least it is to me :) read more

There was some questions regarding the availability of one of my medications and they made sure they got what I needed so I didn't have to miss a dose. I tried this Giant because, well I'm a super market whore. I love the one I'm with, but that doesn't mean I can't play the field when a more attractive store beckons. I got hooked on Giant when my kids went to college at IUP (Indiana University of PA). Prior to Giantization, your choices in Indiana were the Wal-Mart Super Center and a place called Giant Eagle. Actually, the new Giant had to call itself Martin's, so as not to confuse the natives. Anyway, a Giant big enough to fill the old Home Depot certainly sounded good. And it was. It's the same spiffy store I came to love in Indiana, but BIGGER and with MORE. I was confused. I was dazed. Overloaded. Can a supermarket be too big? It made me slighly uncomfortable. Yes, it has a lot of stuff, but not always the stuff I want. For instance, the only shallots they had were shrunken ones in a box with a cellophane window. The Produce Man told me they "couldn't get fresh shallots". I told him that Genuardi's, a mile or so away could get them. His reply was that someone was buying Genuardi's out anyway and they would close eventually. WTF? All I wanted was fresh shallots, not a jingoistic rant from the Jolly Green's guy. Anyway...... One of the positive things they have is curbside loading (not what you think!). They used to have this in the supermarkets in Minnesota when my sister lived there. I guess it was a weather-related thing. You leave your cart with the loader people inside, go fetch your car & drive up to the sheltered pick-up area. They match the number on your rearview hang tag to the number on the cart & load it for you while you remain behind the wheel listening to a nice CD. Now I've even gotten an email letting me know that I can go online, fill out my grocery order, pay with a credit card, arrange a pick up time, then arrive to have them load the order in my car. How cool is that? Go check the WG Giant out. Try a time that you think will be less popular/less crowded. It's easier to mosey through the isles in a dazed and confused stupor when there aren't so many people similarly occupied. Sign up for a Giant card so that you will get their emails. Genuardi's in Roslyn is still my store of choice. I am a creature of habit. I will continue to go back to Giant every once in a while, just to make Mr. Genuardi (or Mr. SafeWay) jealous. Wouldn't have been lovely if they had put a Wegman's in that space though??????? read more

Went to buy beer and wine the other day. I had two items that I wanted rung up separately. The cashier rang up the first item and asked for ID which I presented. He completed the order and rang up the second item and again asked for ID. The guy just saw my ID 30 seconds ago. I asked why he needed to see it again and his reply was "Just following protocol sir". Giant has a policy of carding everyone, even if the customer is clearly 60, 70 or 80 years old. It gets inconvenient, especially when you're a repeat customer and the cashier recognizes you, or you get carded twice in 30 seconds. It seems that Giant does not trust their cashiers to use common sense in their job. Also, what's the deal with scanning a customer's ID? I've been buying alcohol for many years and Giant is the only place that has ever done this. Not crazy about that. read more

When I first heard that a Giant Supermarket was going to go into the old space of a Home Depot in Willow Grove- I cringed. But, somehow it works! The store is not only spacious, but it is clean and fully staffed- which is always a plus in my books. They even have people at these little kiosks printing out coupons for big savings to you!. Hot and Cold Salad Bars, Cooking School, Bakery, Florist, Huge Organic foods area- all of these things make me happy. I like when I can get all of my "regular" shop items alongside of my "specialty" items without going to three different stores. For now, this place gets 5 stars. I'm unabashedly obsessed with grocery shopping (it's me time!) and coupon clipping. I compare prices and somehow log them all in my brain for future comparison with other stores. For instance, the Boca burgers at this Giant are usually 2.99. If you're a Boca Fan then you know.. This is a CRAZY awesome price! The other huge Giant in Plymouth Meeting, which is muuuch closer to my house, sells them for around $5.00! And don't even get me STARTED on the rip-off that is Genuardi's in KOP on Henderson Road. $6.19 for MEATLESS patties?? What the hell, it's not exactly KoBe beef (or... in the meatless world, would that be FauxBe? Hahaha). This Giant has a great "Marketplace" section with salads, asian food, cheese, etc, and a really extensive organic food section. Again, the selection coupled with the prices is the greatest thing ever. I swoon every time I'm in there, which is unfortunately only after I've driven 30 min to visit my parents. That's the only time it even remotely makes sense. OTherwise, I'm stuck in KOP or Plymouth Meeting with crappy prices and a sub-par selection. I stay in the Horsham area a few times a month with my boyfriend and every time I'm there I go to Giant to gather food for our dinners together. Compared to other Giant supermarkets I've frequented this is one of the cleanest locations I've ever been to and also the most awesome. I've never seen a Super Giant before and it rocks my world every time I enter. The selection of items is HUGE. They have a play center for children, a winery and an abundant selection of fresh items. I get excited whenever I'm able to shop there. It makes grocery shopping go from being a nightmare to a pleasant experience. read more

Doesn't get much better! Everything you could possibly want in a supermarket plus much much more! I can't begin to list all of the perks but my favorites : CHILDCARE... Yes! They will supervise your child /children in a clean "playhouse " with toys, crafts, even computers - while you shop in peace! My daughter, 5, lovesss it there! All the while you are in contact thru a walkin talkie ... GENIUS!!! WINERY. Talk about convenient. Late bloomer PA does not offer liquor in their food stores but thanks to Giant & their conveniently located Sand Castle Winery in the front of the store - its a 1 stop shop! FRESHLY PREPARED FOODS - Huge selection from Chinese to salads to Pizza. Great looking area to eat-in as well. Fireplace & all. I've seen many people sitting by the fire with a book & nice meal. Recently I've seen the addition of a valet service that will even load your groceries. This is great for any elderly or disabled patrons, especially. I could go on & on ... Clean... Friendly... This market is one of the best I've ever been too! They have an incredible assortment of freshly prepared foods of all varieties (Chinese, paninis, sandwiches, coffee shop, pizzas, etc) but the clear prepared food winner here is the fresh made salad section. The salad is always huge, and the best part is that you can have your salad made by one of the employees rather than settling for one in the cold case that was made at 8am. You can also customize what you want in your salad, so you're not limited if you have an allergy or just don't like something. The other sections of the store are great; they have a wonderful organic section and some great bulk products. This a great option that is much better than Saladworks, and every week, they offer a different salad on sale for around $5.99. One of the coolest parts of this market is that they have a cooking school inside, with some free classes (others you may have to pay $15-20 for) but they have a full kitchen inside the "Cooking school" where you not only learn to prepare a meal, but you can actually prepare it yourself. They also have a nutritionist on staff that teaches specialty cooking classes, such as low sodium or low fat cooking. They even go so far as to offer classes for seniors and kids! I'll go the extra miles to go to the "Giant" Giant compared to the one in Abington. This store has this whole floor of meeting rooms for public uses. Looks like a convention center. Very cool. I was in the store when all the power went out (storm). The generators turned on with low light. I was pretty entertained that within minutes they had barricaded the frozen food aisles and were putting mass quantities of broken down boxes over every refrigerated. Loved how they wrapped up the whole meat and fridge department displays in giant rolls of plastic wrap. You don't need a visual for that one. Score one for all the managers and staff who ran around working. Still wish I had gotten my lean cuisines before the lights went out. read more

Another 5 Star review from me....this one is for their new line of lunchmeats cut fresh from the deli. This past Thanksgiving, since there are only three of us, we tried their TOI real turkey breast sliced into nice 1/4" slices. Well, it was so delicious and the slices were large. My sister just heated it in a pot with the turkey gravy; and with the mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce etc., we had a lovely delicious dinner. We will definitely purchase again.......At this particular time, we did not know that "TOI" is short for "Taste of Inspirations" products from Giant. But, my sister loves sliced deli ham and she came home today with her favorite, Maple Brown Sugar Ham. The label said "TOI" again, which we figured out that it was also "Taste of Inspirations". Well, she loved it........We do have a request though--please bring back the "TOI Blue Cheese Mustard" to the Giant stores. It is the best!! I don't really do grocery shopping here, but I work in the area and often stop in for lunch. Their cafe is great, and has lots of selections for VERY affordable prices. My favorite is their sandwich specials, particularly the marinated grilled steak. Fresh flank steak on a sandwich for $4.99? Yes please. Today, I got the sandwich and a small soup, and my bill was $7.19. If I wanted a whole sandwich and soup at Panera or somewhere else, my bill would be double that. I like the staff, the store is clean, and the selection is great. They also have a comfortable seating area. If I lived closer, I would do my grocery shopping here -- big store with a great selection. read more

Best food store in the area. Very large building with plenty of options. Local and national brands and great rewards. Also can save money on gas. Normally save 10 to 20 cents per gallon from other gas stations. The beer and wine choices are great. Plenty of produce, meat and seafood options. Everything is fresh and clean. It's a regular old (90 years, that is) big-box-supermarket, but it has a decent selection of organic & 'upscale' items. They have tried selling more finer product (like http://DArtagnan.com & fresh duck, lamb shanks, and offal), but the local yocels unfortunately haven't bought enough to keep it from spoiling on the shelves. (Despite being now owned by too-big-to-fail Amazon, unless Elizabeth Warren has her way, I still go to http://WholeFoodsMarket.com/stores/jenkintown for fresh & wild seafood.) Nonetheless, PA-based Giant is a good choice (and often $-value) for marketing. Today I tried the in-store-made Rotisserie Chicken Salad; it was quite good & I recommend it to you, dear reader. This store has several Community Rooms (with full AV equipment & where I've led training more times than I can recall) that they allow groups to use for free (at least for non-profit organizations like Scouting & the Appalachian Mountain Club); might be free for all, but I don't know for sure. I live in willow grove and having been raised up the road in Abington, I grew quite fond of genuardis as a child. Sad to hear they were bought out by giant. Well I must say giant is really an upgrade. Te selection of fresh produce is amazing. And I LOVE the fact they have some decent sushi there. Wide aisles allow you to breath when it's busy and there are always registers open. For the longest time my wife shopped bottom dollar. After a while, I couldn't stomach the people that went there and got her to switch to the g-side. And now they do curbside pickup when you order online. Truly a great place. Always love taking a trip there because I know I will be taken care of. read more

This Giant grocery store is probably one of the best ones I've ever been to. I'm extremely glad it is so close to my new home! Not only that, they are also a "super" Giant. This one has liquor and a little food area where you can purchase and eat hot food or cold food. They also have a community center, partnered with Abington Memorial Hospital. I had a coworker come here for a little group support for post-partum. This is a very huge super market, it also has an extensive variety of gluten free, organic, and vegan goods. Not only that, but anything that is not grocery or food related, they seem to carry a lot of other things as well. Like, who would've thought you can find very well-made heel liners for your shoes for JUST $1.99??? That is amazing! And a huge life-saver when I really needed it for my high heels (too loose) that morning. The workers here are pretty sincere and always willing to help or give a hand as well. When I come in, someone will greet me or ask if I need something when I'm looking confused. I think by now they might recognize me better since I like to shop here to so much. It's nearby the Willow Grove train station, maybe a block and half away, so it's easy to get here if you're getting off work! Perfect location. read more

This is my go-to place most days for lunch! They have a great, huge selection to chose from. I recommend trying their prepared specialty salads ($6-$7). These things are huge and quite tasty (way better than a Salad Works in my opinion). Other hot food items (pizza, sandwiches, Chinese, etc) and coffee shop. Nice lounge area to eat inside and a patio area outside and free WiFi. Store looks well run and stocked. Love this Giant!! I ordered my son's 3 year old birthday cake at the bakery back in March and the cake turned out PERFECT. We got the Thomas the Train 1/2 sheetcake with his name and age written on the cake. The detail was spot on. The cake itself was moist and had the greatest flavor. Thanks to the bakers at Giant for doing an excellent job on my son's special cake! I usually go to Weinrich's around the corner for my party cakes, but Giant has won me over! read more
