All of this and more means that they don't need nearly as many employees. Fewer employees, lower costs. Easy! I stopped in today looking for something "ready-to-eat" and didn't really find much. But that's really not Aldi's forte. They had a bunch of grocery, deli, dairy, produce and a huge frozen section. Their prices are excellent, competitive even with Walmart. The brands are usually ones that you've never heard of, but they're still very good quality. They also have an interesting half-aisle of odd merchandise. These are almost "flea market" sort of things. Tools. Ponchos. Work out and exercise equipment. It tends to be a little random and you never know what you're going to find. Always worth checking out. So I didn't end up buying anything today but I can assure you that if you're looking to do a full weekly shop, you'll find it all here at Aldi.

Prices are a shade steep (e.g., $1.18 for a bag of generic candy that would typically be $1), but not terrible. Your grocery options in this immediate area are a bit limited, so I reckon the price and selection is about what you'd expect for the area. If you go to a bigger nearby town or municipality, you'll find cheaper prices and better selection.

Why is Martin's selling products they know may be invalid and why is Martin's making the customer absorb the loss when Martin's carries this product item in their stores?! I'm getting so tired of Giant treating it's customers in more rural towns by not even stocking sale…read moreitems. We are constantly out of stuff and even the employees say they have no control they get what they get and can't change that. Well I sure can now that a Weis opened much closer then before and a food Lion isn't that far either. And we have a Sav-A-Lot. Yes, their "deals" often involve buying meat in bulk, but even for the extra dollar a pound to buy it without the deal, you get what you pay for. Their ground sirloin is out of this world for things like hamburger helper or tacos! The soups are another highlight - it's like walking into my grandma's kitchen! Homemade style soups are always available on their hot bar, and some are prepackaged cold. Our favorites are their Corn Chowder, Lobster Bisque, and their Corn and Shrimp Chowder. The only downside is the price. You get it by the pound, and if you use the big container, you could easily spend almost $10. That's a bit steep for maybe two portions, but the quality really is amazing. They run great deals on things like frozen pizza! Their pies and baked goods are decent quality too, though I'd recommend getting these early in the day as many are made overnight. Fresh in the morning doesn't always mean fresh in the evening!
