1 lb package of bacon that showed minimal fat, turned out to be 12 oz of fat and 4 oz of meat. Very artful & deceptive packaging.

I am new to PA, therefore also new to Giant Food Store. When I went in, I was immediately hit with how high the prices are. I looked for less expensive alternatives, but often could find none. For instance, I had to pay more than $2 for a plastic wrapped bunch of sub-standard celery; there was no alternative. Bacon was on my list. I sawpackages for 10 and more but noticed there was some on sale. 1 lb for around $4. It looked great, almost no visible fat. When I got home and opened the package, I found that all the fat had been artfully hidden underneath and not visible. I started pealing the fat away from the meat and ended up with 12 oz of fat and 4 iz of meat. I cooked the meat and found it so salty I had to throw it away. I will not shop at Giant in the future. I don't mind paying more for good quality. But soaking people for bad food is criminal.

I use to shop here every week. No more. Not because of the store but because of whitmarsh township charging for bags.

The worst giant I have ever been to. Barely anything there. The organic aisle is seriously one tiny aisle. No zevia. Outdated and sucks.

I have found it cleaner and easier to navigate than the ShopRite and Acme stores nearby, with a good selection of mainstream brands and a decent section of organic and health food brands.

This is…read morenow the second time I've raised the same concern, and it's honestly becoming very frustrating. During my visit, I saw a meat department employee wearing his store smock go directly into the restroom. From a hygiene and food safety standpoint, that's very concerning. I brought it to the manager's attention, and while he said he would "say something," there didn't appear to be any follow-through. The employee came back out still wearing the same smock, and nothing seemed to change. What makes this worse is that this isn't the first time I've mentioned it. When customers take the time to raise legitimate concerns--especially involving food handling and cleanliness--it should be taken seriously and addressed immediately. On a personal level, situations like this are stressful, especially for those of us who are mindful of health concerns. You expect a certain standard when shopping for food, and right now, that confidence just isn't there. For a store that promotes itself as high-quality, I expect better hygiene practices, better management response, and better accountability.

The ingredients were overcooked. I called the store to inquire if it was homemade or from a restaurant supply; it is from Cisco. The gentleman I spoke with apologized and suggested that I leave this review, for what it's worth. I did not ask nor was I offered a refund or store credit. This store has pros and cons, like them all, but this was the first disappointing experience I've had there.

I was told that they were able to do what I wanted a MONTH before i picked them up. Then, I called to make sure that my cakes would be ready the day before picking them up and I was told they were no longer able to decorate cakes. I received two cakes completely different from what I ordered, one being a size smaller yet the SAME PRICE. I am extremely frustrated as I made sure to order them with more than enough time to get what I wanted. Not only are the cakes so insanely far off from what I was TOLD I WAS GETTING, there's literally a chunk missing from the small cake (that was not supposed to be small) AND there were beautifully decorated cakes in the display case for purchase. But I thought they couldn't decorate cakes? On top of this, when I placed the order the lady that was in the bakery was so ridiculously rude and lazy. I'm far from disappointed and disgusted in this experience and would never recommend anyone ever ordering from this bakery if they want anything that even resembles a cake.

I took it with a grain of salt, because 12 year olds are not notorious for their discerning palate. He was kind enough to bring me a menu, and off we went! We ordered (5) wings to start (student loved them). They were good--have had better. I ordered the cheese steak, was piping hot when we picked it up, a respectable amount of meat and extra cheese as ordered--very good. My husband ordered the Curry Goat. It was excellent. Tender pieces of goat (on the bone, think small little riblets) with a flavorful yet not too spicy curry sauce, rice and bean mix and excellent fried cabbage. The ratio of beans to rice was a tad low, but still very good. It is an unassuming storefront among row homes, neighbors hanging out on stoops and such were friendly and welcoming. We will be back!

My favorite was the Jamaican jerk chicken, but the Oxtail and curry chicken were very good as well! I wasn't a big fan of the goat, but it had nothing to do with the cooking though. Just too many little bones in it. Loved the beans and rice! Probably the best I've ever had! Great find, will definitely return!
