Time has passed since the earlier reviews and I would say that Marvin Caldwell Park has improved…read more It was clean today, there was no litter and it all appeared to be in good order. The park has basketball and tennis courts, playgrounds, a really nice 1.5 mile walking trail, baseball fields, an amphitheater and five picnic shelters, two of which have electrical outlets. There were a couple of folks using the basketball courts and there is a sign reminding everyone to properly social distance. That was going on well because both sets of players looked to be either brothers or father/sons. Plenty of parking. I enjoyed my walk on the trail. It was nice. [Review 13175 overall, 492 of 2020.]

This park is a ghetto, h*ll hole. It is located in a depressed part of Concord, NC nicknamed "The…read moreBottoms" because it is at the bottom of a bunch of hills. I think it should be condemned or a small fee should be charged for entry. There is no other way to save this cesspool. If the urban blight does not get you good and depressed, the dogs lying in the middle of the street literally, trying to commit suicide will (I am serious) this happened!!! Using the bathroom may be the very last thing you do. The bathroom has a sign posted on the door that reads "No Guns or Knives!" There are Tennis courts, Basketball courts. The grounds were nice that day, but upon new info I MUST Readdress this, and take away a star. I was informed that the reason the place wasn't filthy is because my family cleaned the debris, diapers and drug paraphernalia for two hours before they started their event. Nothing could be done about the flies, which SWARM any food you attempt to eat. I lost my lovely gold earring here. My favorite one. A gift from my husband, when we were courting in Ireland. People cautioned: Just leave it behind. Don't go back no matter what! Life is too short. Is the earring worth your life? I can't imagine a good reason to ever revisit this park again.

Baseball and softball fields, batting cages, a football field, picnic shelters (reservable!) with grills, restrooms, tennis courts and even a walking track. The very very bleak playground more on bailey road is seriously lame-o. The larger playground outback past the tennis courts was likely great 10 years ago but has been very badly neglected. On the up side it is "under renovations". On the downside the town chose July - sept to do the renovations. Seriously, who plans these things. Kids are off for the summer and your closing for the summer. Another bright side is if and when this place does get a facelift it looks like it'll be pretty neat AND best of all big trees line the area so it's nicely shaded. Another note - weird note- the trees that surround the playground has these trees that drop pussy droplets and then clunk - these hard lime colored and sized things start dropping. I'be only lived here a couple years and have no ideas what they are. Weird choice for landscaping by a playground. After some googling I think they are eastern black walnut trees I'll come back this fall and check the renos out and offer an update.

(From November 2025)…read more I can't remember how I found this but as I'm driving in Charlotte, my dad and I stopped here to check it out. This is one of the most beautiful parks I've had the pleasure of visiting. There are beautiful views, playgrounds and lawn space for children's play, plenty of parking, trails for walking/bike riding, several bridges, and large trees to compliment the fields. The park is well-kept as everyone here ensures cleanliness and top maintenance. As my dad and I sat down on the bench and soaked in our surroundings, we observed a plethora of activity which included some people flying drones, kids competing in the playground's obstacle course, elderly folks walking, dogs running amok, people racing toy cars, and a few people cycling. The positive energy and vibes were radiant. I'm glad we stopped by here. Definitely worth a visit in Charlotte!

We thought this park looked pretty cool, so we drove over, parked on the road and walked around. It was a nice day and lots of other people were out. All in all, a lovely outdoor space in Charlotte.
