They also have limited hours which can be a problem for anyone who works and/or has a busier schedule. The only day I can visit is Saturday and they close at 4pm even on that day. They are closed on Sunday. The prices are reasonable for a thrift store and they have half off based on the color of some tags. I did find one item half off. A fun storage container. I got a cute top to to wear with leggings for $3. They have a small room in the back that is called the vintage room. There were a few, nice pieces but they were all very small sizes. They were okay prices but maybe a smidge high for thrifting. That selection was a little disappointing but maybe it's better on other days. They had a big table of Dunkin' Donuts bagged coffee and pods at really good prices but it was all pumpkin spice which really isn't my thing but if it's yours, you should head over (this is as of 2/4/23)! I may visit again and check if they sometimes get in other flavors. Have cash on-hand or be prepared to pay an additional 4% fee to use a debit or credit card. The store isn't that big and I was there on a Saturday, so it was rather crowded and I had to stand in line about 10-15 minutes because there was only one register. That's not a complaint because this is a small, charity thrift store. I bet the 2 or 3 ladies I saw who appeared to being working there are volunteers. I just want to people you know what to expect, so of you are in a big hurry, you may want to skip going until you have a little more time. The neighborhood in Mandeville where it's located is a walkable area with a couple of restaurants right down the street, The Rusty Pelican and Hambone. Free public parking lot is directly across the street from Gran's if you can't find a spot on the street. If you like thrifting, you should check out Gran's if you are in the neighborhood.

For some inexplicable reason, they made an arrangement that looked exactly like a funeral spray right next to the urn. I requested a unique arrangement that was not to look like funeral flowers, but they managed to do something exactly opposite. To add insult to injury, the arrangement (very small and not full) was very much overpriced. Im so very disappointed. It was an important order and they completely failed.

The space is very large, and the only drawback is that it is a little crowded and the clothes, especially,- could benefit from being a little bit more spaced apart. But careful examination shows that the prices are extremely reasonable, and the items, almost without exception, are in great condition. There is a food pantry, which you can donate to or take from as your circumstances allow. You need to go here on a regular basis if you are looking for specific items, because the turnover on some things is quite fast. The owner is very nice and most gracious. Closed Sundays.

Gallery 220 is my favorite art gallery…read more For those that know me, you know that the idea of me perusing an art gallery is quite humorous. I don't frequent traditional art galleries, but Gallery 220 is anything but traditional. It's unique, casual, reasonable and more of a shared space where many different artists can sell their creations. Inside the shop there are six or seven different areas. While all are cool, there are three that stand out to me. The first is immediately to your left when you walk in. That area has art created from metal and wood scraps that Is industrial looking while still having a homemade look to it. The best items there are their magnets with metal hearts affixed to wooden blocks. No two are alike and they are very reasonable. The next area I really like is along the left wall towards the rear of the front room. That area has art that focuses on local sea life. My favorite painting was one of a crab, but it was a little rich for my blood. Last, but most certainly not least is the area in the back room. There you'll find the custom ceramic artist that recreated the facades of local and New Orleans businesses and landmarks. There were famous Nola restaurants like Commanders Palace, all the local cities, and even that bullshit school Jesuit. These ceramic pieces were remarkably accurate and were very reasonable. If you are in downtown BSL, you owe it to yourself to stop here.

The Coca- Cola mural on the side of the building has become iconic, denoting you're in the heart of Bay St. Louis. Art prices are reasonable and allow even a casual collector to find a treasure. My all-time favorite queen artist, Michelle Allee, has a space in here. Check out her work. The multilayer, Bingo cards covered by a semi-sheer Queen/face are stunning. The big, piercing eyes speak to everyone. Give Gallery 220 a look!

We met the owner, Linda, of this store one night at a fabulous restaurant called Sycamore House…read more(separate review to follow). We spoke with her at length about her business and love for New Orleans and Bay St. Louis. She was personable and interesting and invited us to visit her shop the next day so we did. Imagine my surprise when one of the salesgirls knew who we were right away. Apparently Linda had told her we might be stopping in and to take care of us. Wow. That's spectacular customer service. As for the shop...imagine flowing, linen and thin soft cotton pieces similar to what you'd find at a beachy resort. All very upscale and classy pieces that will last a long time. While I wasn't in store to get anything of that nature I did buy a beautiful necklace that makes me smile every time I see it. Oh and guys, there's something here for you as well. In the middle of the shoes, jewelry and purses there's a room named the Man Cave complete with sports on the television and complimentary beer. So you've got no excuse not to tag along with your lady to this place at all. Perfect.

HOWEVER, I am sad to say I wont be shopping here ever again. I purchased 2 shirts and a pair of earrings for a trip I was leaving on the next day. The first shirt was 94.00 and I could buy a second for 50% off. I really wasnt interested but the sales lady talked me into it. The second shirt was going to be a gift but it did not fit. Upon returning from my trip (like 2 weeks later) I tried to return the second shirt and matching earrings and the sales lady would not take it back stating no returns or refunds on sale items. After she saw my surprise she said she would "do me a favor basically", and let me exchange it. I did not find anything that I wanted to exchange for. I asked for a gift card so I could come back in a month when they had some more of their fall clothes in and was told no...I could not exchange a sale item. Grrrr. Byer beware of their insanely strict policies. Ask or be certain before you buy. Guess you cant buy gifts for people here because i don't know if they would be able to return or exchange them. I could see if I had come back 30 days. I even HAD THE TAGS STILL ATTACHED, THE RECEIPT AND IN THEIR ORIGINAL BAG..... Terrible terrible store policies.

Located inside of a rustic looking cypress cottage, the modern art adorning the walls may seem out of place. But that is just what makes this place so special. On the day I visited the art on display involved 50s and 60s advertisements made in to modern art. It was completely unexpected, but at the same time, completely cool. The man working the counter was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was also very welcoming despite the two kids I took with me who didn't appreciate the art as much as I did. Maybe one day I will get a gallery show here. Even if I don't I will be sure to keep visiting and check out the real artists that do make the cut to be displayed. If you find yourself in Bay St. Louis, make sure to add Smith and Lens to your list of places to visit.
