The room was beautiful and relaxing, and the entire experience truly made us feel at home while still enjoying the luxury of a five-star hotel. We really enjoyed our time here and wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely return the next time we visit Vancouver. Highly recommended!

When we went to the front they said we will send up 2 cooling units. They brought tiny fans. It was miserable. 1st room was by the elevator and the alarm went off several time. The fire alarm went off one day and we were never told what to do, the phones didn't work in the rooms either. The curtains were held on by velcro and they all fell down but they also covered the 1 vent to add air to the place. Overall for the price (I know it was FIFA) it was WAY too much for the room. Bright side is Vancouver is a treat, I would return but stay elsewhere.

Plus, you're within easy walking distance to coffee shops, convenience stores, and a variety of other restaurants, so you really don't need to drive much once you're here. That said, the parking garage is tiny. Definitely only suitable for compact cars -- if you're driving anything larger, be prepared to struggle or find alternative parking. This isn't a hotel you pick for luxury amenities, and it is expensive for what you get, but if location is your top priority, it's a solid choice.

Imagine the smell of a rug that hasn't been washed in 30 years and soaking-in nasty odors all day and all night. That is basically what the air conditioner smelled like. The "change filter" light was on, but that wasn't terribly helpful at midnight. We were hot and stuffy, but that was better than the gag-inducing smell of the air conditioner. We had a second room which was better, but we still couldn't run the A/C since the smell was the same, but fainter. If they service their air conditioners, this can be a decent place to stay.

Wouldn't be my first choice for booking next time around just due to the price tag. (I'd go 3.5 to maybe a 4.)

Overnight self-parking is across the street in a parking garage and was around $48 Canadian, or you can use valet. They also have bell service to help with your luggage. The hotel has a large convention center and seemed to be a popular place for people staying before heading out on a cruise. There's a lot to do. They have two restaurants, a gift shop, spa, pools, and wood saunas. The outdoor pool area is beautiful, and I loved being right by the marina where you can sit and watch the boats. One of my favorite things was the free bike rentals. The hotel is so close to Stanley Park, so it was an easy way to get around. They also offer free activities for guests. I got to do a beeswax candle-making class while I was there, and they also had mixology and other activities on different days. If the hotel bikes aren't available, there's a bike shop nearby and a Lime scooter rack down the street. The room was really comfortable and cleaned daily with a mini fridge and you can request a microwave. They also said they would try to upgrade you if they had availability, which we did and it was a nice bonus. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay. Between the location, cleanliness, amenities, beautiful waterfront setting, and friendly customer service, this was a great place to stay in Vancouver. I would definitely come back.

As a dog friendly facility, and we have been to many many in our almost 11 years of traveling with our dog, it had minor challenges. There are no pet relief areas very close by for the early morning or before bed time trips. And since the only area to dine is outside in a very narrow patio, our 60 pound guy was a challenge for wait staff. Our morning and evening dining was in cooler weather and there are no heaters, so it was not the most comfortable but manageable. The waitstaff was amazing, giving our guy lots of love and pets. If we were to travel here again without a dog, we would definitely stay here.

You could also take a car but unless the weather is bad or you have mobility issues, it is just as easy to walk over to the terminal. We were in before to check in and because of the cruise, rooms were not ready early. But they took our bags and gave us warm, delicious cookies! When we returned later to check in, we received more cookies. (Insert Cookie Monster meme here.) All of the staff we encountered was very friendly, even the security guard on Hastings Street, though he didn't tell us that if we would just walk around the corner to Seymour there is an entrance without stairs that is better for luggage... We didn't bother with the restaurant after seeing the prices, but we can say that the rooms are lovely. Our suite was perfect for three people, with a nice living room area and a separate bedroom though the closet was very small for a room that could potentially accommodate four people. With the exception of a very worn out, past its prime chair, everything in the room from the furniture to the bathroom was in great condition, too.
