Salty is the only flavor I got out of this pad Thai. Disappointed.

I don't know how this place got such high ratings but unfortunately the pad Thai was probably one of the worst pad Thais I've had. It's purely salty, with no other flavor. I should've known that it would't taste good from the look of jt. Finding the bean sprouts in the dish was like going for treasure hunt. I would appreciate a lot more bean sprout than the few they had in the dish. I also asked for extra peanuts, but there was only a handful of the crumbs in there, maybe that's already considered "extra"? No idea.... Anyway, I'd not order from here again.

I got the Drunken noodles with chicken for takeout. The portion size was amazing. It was delicious blending perfectly with the spicy and sweetness. The vegetables also were great and not soggy

The absolute best udon noodles!! I get the udon garlic every time I'm in town and it's a 10/10. Could not recommend it more. The scallion pancakes are also good and so are most other things we've tried like the pad thai and others.

This review is for take out. The curry was not flavorful at all and I ordered tofo triangles and they arrived soggy and not able to eat them! I was disappointed based on the positive reviews!

I absolutely love Giggling Rice Thai To Go. It's easy, reliable, and always delicious. I truly believe they have some of the best Pad See-U. A lot of Thai places use too much soy sauce so the noodles are drenched in salt. This place strikes the perfect balance. (I also like the range of vegetables -- broccoli, carrots, and zucchini!). When it's a slow day, you can order in person and have your food ready within five minutes. But when it's a rainy day around dinner, expect 10+ drivers waiting to pick up takeout orders. This is a popular restaurant even if the inside looks casual and occasionally empty. Finally, this is a small note, but if you're eco-conscious, the restaurant gives you a plastic takeout box even to dine in.

This was a last minute takeout order. I had the fried rice with chicken. And it was great!

If you're looking for a solid Pad Thai spot, you have to give Giggling Rice a try! It's my go-to spot here in Boston. They have a large menu with appetizers, soups, fried rices, Pad Thai, curry, and other noodle dishes. There is something for everyone on the menu. If you want a genuine, native meal- they have a small selection on the menu. It's the first place I've seen that offers this. I'll have to try a "Native" dish on my next visit! They also have a solid Chef's Special menu. To start off, we always order the Crab Rangoons. They are some of the best I've had. Perfectly made, not overly greasy. The filling consists of crab stick and cream cheese. Our favorite is the Pineapple Sauce served with the crab rangoons. It pairs perfectly with the Rangoons and I honestly wish I had the recipe. It's incredible and completes the appetizer. You get quite a few Rangoons, plenty for two people to share. They're very generous with portions here. The main course for us is always the Chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai. The Pad Thai is prepared with stir-fried rice noodles, bean sprouts, egg, peanuts, and scallion. You can also order it with just chicken, shrimp, or beef. I have to deduct one star as they do skimp a bit on the protein added to the Pad Thai. My entire order had three shrimp. It was also a bit short on chicken. They would have gotten five stars otherwise. The portions are very large and plenty to feed two people. If you order the Pad Thai, pay close attention to what OPTIONAL "spicy level" you choose. You can also get it without any heat, which is what we do. I ordered the "Mild Spicy" once- it was so spicy it was inedible. And I have a very high tolerance for spicy food. The plain Pad Thai without heat is phenomenal. If you're looking for a solid Pad Thai & Noodle spot, you have to give these guys a try! It's always packed perfectly. The order is always accurate and piping hot upon delivery. Their amazing Pad Thai keeps us coming back over and over again. I'd love to give 5-Stars, but the protein portion of the Pad Thai was very skimpy. If they can improve on that, I'll be even happier. If they could add an option for DOUBLE protein, I'd happily pay an up-charge.

DELICIOUS! Especially rice and tofu dishes. If you like spice let them know, and they won't be afraid to serve it up. Highly recommend.

We stopped into Thaitation for lunch between visits to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and the…read moreMuseum of Fine Arts; it was the perfect spot, since it only took us about 5 minutes out of the way. The restaurant was casual, but nice, and had several other tables of diners at that time. The staff was very friendly, as well. The menu had some really interesting dishes that I had not seen elsewhere, but I was lame and ordered my usual - Chicken Pad See Ew. I found the poultry to be very tender, and the included broccoli was fresh and crisp. I should note that the broccoli used was the popular Calabrese kind, while Chinese broccoli cost $1 more. In fact, there were several upcharges scattered around the menu, which was a bit much. Anyway, back to the dish...In addition to the broccoli, carrots were also included, which was not typical for Pad See Ew, but I was fine with it! The sweet soy sauce was a bit thick, like a light gravy, so that was a bit unusual, but the flavor was terrific! I heard reasonably positive things about their Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles as well. Thaitation would be a place I would frequent if I lived in the area.

Noise levels were low for most of the meal, but at one point turned up to blast a rendition of "happy birthday" for another guest - after that, music stayed a bit too loud, which seemed to clash with the otherwise calm ambiance. They didn't ask for our preferred spice levels for the main dishes, and I would've liked everything a little bit spicier. We originally wanted the salmon spring rolls but they were out. We got Tod Mun (fried fish cakes) instead, and they were really tasty. They were smaller but greater in quantity than what I've seen elsewhere, and the sauce was good. I'm not a huge fan of the side salads, though this one surprised me with the spiciness in the dressing. We ordered the mango curry (which comes with chicken, and we added steamed tofu for no charge) and tofu drunken noodles. The noodles were really good, plus looked more appetizing than the similarly-popular pad thai. I was hoping the mango in the curry would be large, beautiful pieces of sweet mango on top, so I was a little disappointed that the small chunks weren't quite as flavorful as I was hoping for. However, I was still quite happy with the dish overall. It also comes with a (pretty small) bowl of rice on the side. The food by itself would be 4 stars for me, except that at the very end of my meal, as I was polishing off the curry, I found a long hair stuck to the bottom of my plate. It didn't match ours, so I know for sure it came from the staff. I know it happens, but the ick factor is hard to get over. Knocked off a star for the unfortunate hair.

It's $50 for the regular AYCE or $80 for the Premium AYCE. We opted for the former, and it was plenty great. We have done lots of AYCE sushi and I will say this is the BEST of them - I think it's because it's the same grade sushi as they would normally do Ala carte on other nights. The $50 menu had plenty of sashimi and regular nigiri (sushi with rice) options and some Thai too. We had mostly the sashimi Salmon, Tuna, Yellowtail, Octopus, a few rolls, some edamame, gyoza, shumai. My favorites were the salmon, as the cuts were large, thick and amazing silky, and the gyoza, as it was perfectly crispy. The Pad Thai was bit way too sweet for my taste - a skip for me next time. The decor is very nice - reminded me of a dive Tokyo bar. Service was quick and very attentive. We will be back!

With what…read moreseems to be a recent price increase, now $50++ allows access to a good variety of sushi/sashimi, on top of apps, ramen, poke bowls, and cooked rice/noodle dishes. Whereas $80++ offers diners a set of amount of uni, plus unlimited amount of everything else, wagyu included. Sounds like a good deal, especially when one can eat a lot. Even as we are no longer Team Eat Till You Burst, we went for the premium, mainly for the nicer cuts such as toro and wagyu, and because uni!! Jumping in shortly after 5pm, we were promptly seated, marked a bunch of stuff on paper, and soon after submission, we got food brought to our table. It was a decent meal overall, so why 3 stars? Let's recap. Menu variety is fantastic, though of course we didn't get "one of everything", coz that's simply impossible. While the premium did cover a lot of grounds, it would have been nice if they also included anago (sea eel) which is currently only available on the a la cart menu, and maybe even offer couple lesser-known items such as monk fish liver app, sea grapes, off-the-beaten-path fish cuts, what have you. Would be happy even if we only get an allotment of those like we do with the uni. Now, service - great overall. Servers circulated around and were alert of customers' needs. Approached at appropriate times to take our order sheets, refill water, provide new order sheets, and ask if we wanted more food. So kudos on that. Their denotation of serving "regular portion" of cooked food had us hesitant in ordering, since we didn't want to be wasteful (or use our limited stomach space for dishes we can easily get elsewhere). But from other tables' orders as well as the one noodle dish that we ended up getting, it seems that the portion size was what I would like to see at AYCE places -- about 50-60% of regular Asian dish size, where 3-4 people can each have a couple bites "just to try". However, to think if that is what they call "regular portion", then it is definitely "Brookline pricing" on a la carte, which I would not recommend one to do such things on these items. Food is fantastic in general; we got a variety of stuff, and everything was really of top quality and taste. The meal would have been a "highly recommended" if they didn't serve the uni that we got. Out of the 12 pcs of uni sushi, all of them were... while not "foul" to a point where one cannot safely consume, they were definitely more sub-par than "ok but not great". Colors aside (which I understand there can be a range depending on origins and such), the uni was a "splat" of yellow stuff on rice, without distinct shape of the flesh. On top of the fishy smell (I'm talking about slightly ammonia-ish), the presentation and taste-texture upon them hitting our tongues... really left the ENTIRE room to be desired. In retrospect, we should have sent them back even if they weren't going to replace them. But instead, we stupidly forced ourselves to shove them all down in cowardly silence, then ordered another round of wagyu just to make us feel a little better about it. Yes, we weren't smart as customers. But if the restaurant is going to charge $100++ per person (after tax and tip), someone from the kitchen should have known better than pushing this thing out for customers to deal with. In their defense, yes, the uni itself was still "edible" in a sense that it didn't make us sick, but I'd maintain that better judgment should have been made. Once the shell was cracked open and you see this pale-gray yellow mush, it should have been decided that it is better repurposed, than be served straight to your customers as your star/featured product. As seen in other diners' experiences, it could just have been a one-off mishap, so I'm not knocking them entirely. But I do hope the restaurant would improve on their QC accordingly. It was such a disappointing low point in an otherwise wonderful meal.
