Had a BALL! The staff was soooo much fun. The operation hours are from 7pm until 2am. I suggest you show up at 9pm because there's no action or traction until then. There is a gated parking lot with an attendance. The establishment is the oldest in Michigan! They have a homage wall celebrating all the Queens that has left the show. How sweet. They don't have a kitchen like most bars however they do offer snacks in the basement where the shows are. There's 2 levels, upstairs and downstairs. There's 2 complete bars in both areas along with adequate seating. The upstairs offers a dance floor for those who want to dance. One of the things I liked was that this is a SAFE PLACE for ALL LGBTQIA persons. It's not just for D.Queens. The show itself didn't start until 10pm. The 2nd show was at 11pm. So there's plenty of time to reserve seats for your party. I strongly recommend that you have reservations, it gets pretty crowded pretty quickly. We'll hope to see you there my friends. We had a great time on a weekday catching an amateur show. The drinks are pretty reasonable and stiff. The staff is always friendly and quick. The interior is a mix of black and red with dim lighting. A great gay bar to visit if you're in the Detroit area. read more

The queens were amazing! They sure worked hard for the audience. But this place had one of the worst bartenders I've come across. The place was close to empty. Yet, when he wasn't spending time in conversation at one end of the bar, he was at the other end of the bar talking to people there. I left no tip. But that probably won't help. Look, if he doesn't want to work there, please someone help him out and FIRE HIM. read more

Friendly inclusive fun From the moment we walked in we were greeted with kindness. I've wanted to visto for more than 20 years but never had a reason to be in or near Detroit. This review is very late but we went for the new years celebration. We had an amazing time. Drinks were a little pricey and not as strong as we wanted but the dinner was pretty good as well. On Sunday, there are two guys here at 10 pm. It's an interesting bar because it looks closed and abandoned from the street. The entrance is from the Parking lot. Friendly staff, a crown and water plus a club soda is $8.00. I'd consider coming Saturday's or Monday. read more

Good place to go for dancing and a good show. Drinks are strong and affordable. This place is cash only, so be sure to bring cash. There is an ATM on site, but I recommend stopping at the bank just down the street. Friday night is usually very crowded with good entertainment. Parking lot in the back is a little tight but large. Hum... I am not sure where to start. There are pros and there are cons and then there is my long developed expectations for what I wanted this place to be. I'll try to keep it real. Initially, I was really excited to visit here. As a female, most gay bars do not cater to female crowds and I always end up in a room full of guys feeling completely out of place. I was very happy to see that the crowd here was a good mix of males and females, and I finally felt like I wasn't the odd girl out. The atmosphere was very chill and everyone was interacting with each other and just having a good time. No one was rude or disrespectful to anyone, everyone was free to dress and act as they wanted and could feel secure in not being judged. That is always a great way to get me back in the door. The staff could have been a little more personable. The bathrooms could have been maintained better. The general cleanliness was a bit dingy and dirty. Drug use & activity is blatantly obvious. In all reality, the comfort and acceptance outweighed the negatives. I plan to visit again, and will update my review if anything changes. read more

I've been to Gigi's several times, mostly on Saturday nights for their drag show. Gigi's never fails to provide a great time! We made our reservations for the 11pm show. When we arrived, the parking lot attendant was charging $4 to park or valet in the lot. I think this is somewhat new. I don't remember paying to park before. The show is $5 per person. The angry Ginger taking our money was so shitty. lol He kept rolling his eyes at us and wouldn't make eye contact. I started laughing because it was so ridiculous. I can't imagine hating people or life that much. The rest of the staff was great. Drinks are cheap & very strong. The show is always great. There were some performers off to the side, taking pictures with people. They were incredibly gracious and patient while everyone had to get a picture with their own camera. After the show, we headed upstairs to the dance club. I'm pretty sure we danced with everyone. There was quite a mix of people there, which made it fun & very interesting! Everyone that came with me had a great time as well. My first time here being out of town from Milwaukee, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I'd read on Yelp that Monday's and Friday's were the night to attend, so of course on Friday I saddled up and drove ALL the way out to GiGi's (which is a jaunt from Downtown Detroit, let me tell you). Walking into this place you're immediately carded and banded (to be expected), then walk down a mildly narrow hallway and before you enter a somewhat "small" main room with a long bar, a few pool tables, elevated seating behind those tables, and then an elevated stage for dancing and drag shows. Drag show performance that night was short, sweet and to the point. Birthday announcements were my favorite! Strippers were enjoyable and cute, if not a little raunchy. Then with the crowd pumped up, the dancing began, and went heavy until close. Some of the most fun I've had, and a great place to go when on vacation! I'll be back GiGi's! I downgraded a star because the shot boy was apparently so enamored with me that he ended up spilling his tray of shots all over me. Really? at least apologize! Also, cash only. read more

I went here for a bachelorette party and we had a good time. It is definitely a different experience since you can't see a drag queen show just anywhere in Detroit. It was hard to find since the sign was unlit. There is a dance club on the first floor that played good music and the basement is where the show is and the cover was $5. We go on sunday specifically to see KJ Karen who spins the best karaoke we've ever seen or heard. The atmosphere is pretty fun and the people are super friendly none of the "attitude" you can get at other places. No kitchen is the only downside it would be great if they had at least salsa and chips BUT they don't seem to mind if you bring food in which is awesome. Gigi's... An old time favorite of days past. $4 bucks for parking and $5 a person cover! Really?!? Why don't you just add 50 cents to the price of your drinks and call it a day. There have been many of a day that I've stopped in at the Adam's Apple or went over the hayloft to avoid being ripped off in parking and cover fees. I'd rather spend my money on the booze! It's a real turn off to be out $20 bucks between cover and door fees before getting a drink. I came for the show. The girls are always a pleasure! Miss Stevens is a real treat! Friday night bartenders need a rude awakening. They have consistently provided rude and unprofessional service. I have no idea why they continue to be allowed to treat the clientele the way they do. I'm sure there are plenty of good and professional bartenders that need jobs. Fun bar to go out to on Mondays, and Wednesdays but now Wednesday nights have changed to Friday nights. They don't take credit/debit cards anymore. But ATM inside only charges $2.00 which is very cheap... Same amount that you would pay at a bank. Went on a Sunday night for Karaoke, and even though it was slow... Always a good time to be had at Gigi's! When I lived in Detroit from 1999 to 2001, Gigi's was the place my roomate and I would go to to unwind, meet friends, make new friends, see a killer drag show, and get hammered. Loved seeing Nikki Stevens, DeAngela Shannon, and the many other talented performers that grace the stages at Gigi's. Seattle has nothing like this, and I sure wish we did. We went here last night for our joint bachelor party, not knowing there would be a show that night. Was such a great show, and although it did take a long time to get our drinks, the only server on the floor was super accommodating. The only reason I took one star away was for the drinks - if you like super strong drinks, this is the place for you. I literally got a glass of vodka with a few drops of red bull. The space is a bit dated. Saturday crowd included large number of CDs and lesbians. They were quite friendly, especially given that it was my first time, and I was in drag. Two even advised me on which bathroom to use. This was much better than being the only CD in a bar. read more

Yes, the place is getting a bit crusty and run down but I have been going there for 11 years on Sat nite. Want to avoid the parking fee and cover ..
