Do your homework prior to going to be sure you know what your renting. Has beach on end of the lake but can sometimes be mud and not sand. They do have row boat and kayak rentals that are pretty nice. Food stand is good with decent food stand food. All in all it's not a bad place but very low adventure but pretty.

This park was not crowded, had a few families and dogs- but just the perfect amount this past Saturday. I really enjoyed being here and was so grateful for the views. They have a nice hiking trail and it's a wide open space. I am thankful for the lake where you can canoe and kayak. Everyone is very respectful to each other. The park also has two lovely playgrounds for children to play on- after the pandemic. I can't say enough good things about this park because it's just perfect. If you ever have a chance to get outside and explore this is the place to be. Early mornings in the summer - I cannot wait to go back- but friends don't forget your masks! Stay safe!

On many occasions you can watch the process of a boat going through the working canal locks, which is pretty neat. There are picnic tables, a shelter, restrooms, and if the locks arent in use, access to the canal trail on the other side. Plenty of parking. Just an all around nice place to spend a little while. It isn't very big so if you are looking to get some exercise you are best heading to the canal trail. This place is also dog friendly, as long as you pick up after them, and my dogs quite enjoy sniffing around.

We came here recently for their "Touch a Train" day and it was a lot of fun…read more Admittedly, any day riding trains is fun but they had a lot going on: FREE train rides on their 12" gauge park train; FREE tour of their station with many model train exhibits; FREE tours inside of a diesel engine including cab with opportunity to ring the bell and activate the brakes; FREE live music; inexpensive food including popcorn (yum); FREE gift bag for the kids with stickers, wooden train whistle, and other things like that; FREE demonstration of a working railroad work crane; $5 caboose train rides up and down part of the line; run the Lionel train layout in the station for a quarter for a couple of laps. They do this once a year, so don't show up anytime and expect to get all of the above. But they are a great little railroad and museum trying to keep up the history of trains in the area. The staff were super friendly too.

(Be careful, because it's not as deep as you'd think) A common frustration that I have (that I'm sure many others have as well) with beautiful spots like these is the accumulation of trash left behind by park visitors. The adjoining park and public pool area is an obscure place, perhaps because the town (Blenheim) has a history of being saddled with disasters (floods and natural gas explosions) during its several hundred year history -- and is quite remote from populated areas. The foot of the falls is loaded with beaver chewed creek wood and fossil bearing rock (great for prospecting with kids) -- and the nearby pools and picnic areas are cheap and clean -- quite sophisticated really. We always stop here to explore with our boys when we are in the area.

This is the rock where the Indians would meet for meetings. The place is very nice and people were sitting around on blankets in the grass enjoying the day. I dont know about parking because we were parked on the main road from our visit to the HOF. Pretty cool thing to see and place to hang out.

That said, I'll probably only visit during the off season (early spring or after Labor Day by a bit). I came here once with my dog and they're apparently very specific about dogs ONLY being in a little beach area. I wasn't letting him in the water anywhere else (I definitely want to be respectful of the main beach area and any swimmers), and he's always on leash when we visit, but I was followed around (from one end of the park to the other) by a member of the park staff during that previous visit with him They could never tell me what I was doing that they didn't like, but they kept trying to usher me out of wherever I was. Very weird and uncomfortable.

This is a great spot to bring the dogs, or even just to read or book. While we were there we saw people taking Senior portraits. I have never been here in winter, but I imagine it is also beautiful then. Some of the trails may be challenging for certain groups (steep incline etc) but are easy for most. It is well maintained and the visitors seem to be respectful. Pictures and description do not do this justice so just come and visit, take some time in nature.
