After having two blowouts and no second spare we needed a tow. The driver, Stan, was excellent in determining exactly where we were and even said he'd help us the next day to get our truck for new tires. He showed up in amazing timing when we're used to 2+ hours of wait times. We called AAA again the next day and he showed up within 20 minutes. We had a great time as he was very personable. My wife had a tire blow out on I35 between Winstar and Dallas. I called Triple AAA which routed the call to Gilbert Wrecking. We weren't getting any updates on service arrival from AAA so I called them directly. Within 30 minutes they were at the vehicle and worked until they removed the flat and put the donut on the car. Was trying to get my keys that were attached to my wallet with my ID from this towing place because they were in someone's vehicle they got impounded. The lady said I had to fill out the TDLR form so I did and then she said I had to be immediate family or owner. But per TDLR rules and regulations from their website u do not have to be related but she said yes because it was on their bulletin board. A tow truck company cannot add its own rules that contradict or go beyond the rules established by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Since she did deny me she has violated the regulations and I will be filing a complaint against her and the facility. And on top of that I used AAA get my vehicle towed since I couldn't get my keys from there and it happened to be Gilbert's towing And so then she called and told me that I couldn't get my car towed because I didn't have a hard copy of my ID (Which she knew was in their impound, lol) I had a picture of my ID on my phone but that wasn't acceptable she said. Worst experience I've ever had ! Insurance paid for towing vehicle, first said it would be $125. To tow my 16 ft trailer in also then it jumped to take it to a RV park in town all full so had to go12 miles out of town to one , he plugged in wrong one and the told me it would be $230 , had to come back towards town for twelve miles didn't change the price for the closer correct even park ! Bent my door panel on new trailer I think trying to jerk it open, rushed me the whole time saying he had other calls even though I was a call ! Air conditioner didn't work on his truck , dirty cab and to top it off the truck broke down on the way to wrong rv park ! Avoid these guys like the plague! read more

I'm a AAA member, my car broke down about a month ago, I called AAA for a tow, I had them tow my car to my home because it was a Sunday and being a performance car I knew I'd have to order the needed parts. Fast forward a month parts in hand, I needed another tow to the performance shop that does all the work on my car, I contacted AAA again for a tow. They scheduled Gilbert Wrecker service to haul my car the 35 mile trip. The driver showed up as scheduled on time. He had another car he was also hauling and explained to me that he'd put my car on the truck and dolly the other car behind the truck which I was very happy about. Then he said he was going to drop off the towed car first then take my car to the shop I requested, I was not happy about that as like most people I wanted my car delivered ASAP and I told the driver I'd be following him to the destination. He agreed and that's exactly how it went. He was very professional and double checked all the straps to ensure a safe tow and the vehicles were safe. I was very happy with the entire process and would not hesitate to use Gilbert's Towing again if I need a tow. I didn't get the drivers name but a huge thank you to him and his assistant. DO NOT USE GILBERT'S! TERRIBLE! BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES! When our large motor home broke down, they were the only company with a truck large enough to tow us. After picking us up, they convinced us that they could actually do the work as well instead of towing it to another repair place. They told us it would take around one week. Over the next SEVEN WEEKS we had to call weekly to check on the status because they did not communicate with us themselves. It took one whole month just for them to remove the rear axle and hadn't even ordered a new one yet. We were NEVER given a price estimate. We asked specifically for the axle work to not be done until we spoke with the owner, but they did it without our consent. They replaced the axle with a salvaged one without our consent. Two weeks or so in, we requested they clean out the refrigerator and keep checking on our freezer/propane levels (since we were told it would only take one week). Upon arrival to pick up the completed motor home, our fridge is RUINED because they let the freezer thaw and ruined hundreds of dollars of meat that thawed and rotted all over our floors. They refused to provide an itemized invoice. They refused to provide receipts for any parts they purchased when we requested them. These people engage in BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. DO NOT LET THEM WORK ON YOUR VEHICLE. Would leave zero stars if I could. read more

Horrible service!!! We took our vehicle in for AC not working at the end of May (they replaced the whole system less than a year ago). Over a week later, we pick it back up and was told that a sensor was loose...only to return it a couple of days later because the AC is still not working. They have it an just shy of an additional 4 weeks. They would never communicate what was going on, we had to call them to get any updates. For the first few weeks, they were 'chasing the leak' before determining that the entire system needed to be replaced again. We had the vehicle an entire whole 3 days during the month of June!! Will never get our business again!! read more

This is one of those companies that make you wish negative stars were a thing.... called for a wrecker I was told the driver would be here with in an hour and that he would keep us updated on his status... I have called them 7 times in the last 4 hours, and been given nothing but the run around told that... "he's on his way" "he's 30mins out" "he's about to pull up" an hour after the last call I cancelled and called HUNTERS TOWING AND RECOVERY they told me 35mins driver made it in 30mins.... I never once received a call from the driver or updated by the company at all... please don't waste your time, go with a company that will make you a priority and not an option read more
