Venue 5/5 Lakefront…read morerestaurant with patio along boardwalk. Right on the main strip of Friday harbour. Patio has lounge like seating with umbrellas as well. They are also dog friendly (see below), as the other restaurant in resort are service animals only. Service 4/5 Came on a Saturday for supercars and jazz. More traffic than usual at the resort. That being said the team were pretty quick in getting our food to the table after ordering. The wait times for inside were longer than outside due to the heat. We sat outside but the breeze definitely helped out along with the umbrellas. Food 4/5 Portions were quite generous. We got a chicken wrap (chose honey garlic wing sauce) as well as nachos and a chicken Brie sandwich. The venue is also pet friendly , they had dog bowls a for food and water. They also had a dog beer (it is cold bone broth) for the dogs on the patio.

The place had a nice open layout with warm lighting. Crispy & Spicy Squid (4/5) was cooked perfectly. It was firm and crispy with red and green chillis. The sauces were on the sweeter side. We usually prefer the sauces to be more on the tangy and/or a creamy bold garlic flavour. Wagyu Burger (3/5) was decent. It came with two patties, smoked cheddar, caramelized onions, black truffle garlic aioli, tomatoes and pickles. The flavour profile met our expectation but we found that the patties themselves were a bit dry. We upgraded the side of fries for truffle fries (5/5) and those were delicious. Spicy Bison Sausage Rigatoni (5/5) was cooked perfectly. The sausage was complemented well with the acidity and delicate sweetness of the pasta sauce. The mushrooms were a great addition and the parmesan really tied in all the flavours together. We had the option to have it not spicy, mild or hot. We asked for hot because we enjoy spicy food but it was not as spicy as we had hoped it to be. NOTE: The bill comes with an additional 3% Resort Fee

The biggest issue was the incredibly slow service--waiting for each dish felt like an eternity. While the staff was friendly, the food itself didn't live up to the hype. There's definitely potential here, but they need to work on both their timing and their execution in the kitchen. Absolutely Outstanding Experience!…read more We contacted Michael & Marion's to host my son and now daughter-in-law's wedding, as we've always loved both the food and service there. From start to finish, it was hands-down the best choice we could have made. Kent, the owner, was an absolute pleasure to deal with -- professional, accommodating, and completely transparent. He clearly outlined what was available and what to expect, with no hidden costs or "nickel and diming." When it looked like our ceremony venue might fall through, he even offered us the restaurant space as a backup, which was such a thoughtful gesture (thankfully, we didn't need it -- but the offer said everything about their level of care). We met with Kent twice and Jade once, and the process felt almost too easy -- so informal and effortless that I thought it might be too good to be true. But it wasn't. When we arrived on the big day, everything was exactly as promised -- and even better than I had imagined. Throughout the evening, Jade and the entire team were incredible. They were attentive, professional, and seemed to anticipate every need before we even had to ask. I never once felt like I had to manage a thing. The food was phenomenal, the service outstanding, and the atmosphere absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend Michael & Marion's for any event or special occasion. I'm eternally grateful to Kent, Jade, and their team for making this day so smooth, memorable, and truly perfect. Angela McKeown

We ordered the Consome Soup (Lamb Broth) and the Camarones a la Mexicana Tacos (Shrimp). We were given complimentary nachos as well. The Consome Soup (5/5) came with Tortillas which were soft and had the perfect texture to them. The lamb was tender and the broth was clear, rich in flavour and had a smooth texture. The Camarones a la Mexicana Tacos (Shrimp) (5/5) was well made. The shrimp was plump and succulent. It was complemented well with the zestiness of the sauce and the lime. Overall, we were quite pleased with how authentic this place is. We will definitely be regulars here.

This time I ordered tacos and I was surprised that they didn't have ground beef tacos, only pork, shrimp, chicken or sausage. We started with the nachos, which was served with enchilada sauce instead of salsa, but it worked. Then I had the shredded chicken tacos, which turned out to be chunks of chicken breast - not shredded - on soft, soggy tacos. The first one I lifted up fell right through the taco. It was supposed to be served with tomato sauce but all I saw was one thin slice of tomato peel in one of the tacos. It was so dry, I could barely swallow it. We mentioned it to one of the servers and she offered to replace my meal and brought me the menu again. She never came back though and my friend finished eating his dinner. When the bill came it included the food I'd returned and when we mentioned it they did remove it from the bill. On the way out I passed the server who had said she would come back to take my order and I was a bit sarcastic when I said "Thanks a lot for coming back", and her reply was "Sorry about that." I left, not impressed with either the food or the service.

During slow hours, when there were no crowds to distract from it, this staff member decided it was the perfect time to make me feel unwelcome in their establishment. The comments weren't subtle. They were laced with hostility and prejudice, completely out of line for someone representing a business that claims to offer hospitality. I came here for a drink, not a lecture dripping with bigotry. It's 2025--how does a place like this still employ someone who thinks their job description includes insulting paying guests over nationality? The Mansion on High Street should be embarrassed to have staff like this. Until they take accountability and ensure their employees reflect basic decency and professionalism, I strongly recommend anyone--local or traveler--take their money elsewhere.
