Went here yesterday on Good Friday. We were originally heading to a fish & chips diner but changed our mind as we enjoyed our food here before. Perhaps a bit of a mistake as we did not enjoy our food much. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms with crab meat as my appetizer & the fish tacos. My husband had haddock & chips and my father in law had their shrimp linguini. The stuff mushrooms were huge & ok tasting but I was turned off by the brown water content that was seeping out onto my plate when cutting it in smaller pieces. My fish tacos was bland. The tortillas almost seemed stale & not soft. I'm surprised that there was no acidity in this dish with all the pico de gallo & looking at the corn, it was all shriveled up. My husband's haddock batter was as hard as a rock and my FIL's linguini was not al dente but was actually uncooked. The only good thing during our visit was our server. She was friendly & attentive so we had some good laughs. Sadly, we won't be coming here again which is too bad since we loved the feeling of the interior space and they have an awesome patio. read more

Schomberg is such a cute little town I'm so happy we drove by it and decided to check it out. It's filled with a bunch of cute stores and restaurants and this place caught our eye. It's located in a historical home that's been extended with a beautiful outdoor patio. We didn't realize there was an inside dinning area since the patio was so packed we opted out to sit there. There was plenty of shade so we grabbed a table and sat down. Our server was so friendly and she explained some items weren't available on the menu since it was sold out. We ordered crab stuffed mushrooms, Thai chicken bites, Caesar and pork schnitzel. It was really good and I'm glad we decided to try something different today! We also got sangria and a beer which were also very good. Will definitely be back whenever we're in the area :) read more

Saturday ride up to The Schomberg Pub & Patio for lunch around 2:30pm with no reservation. Was able to get a table for 4 easily. Staff were attentive but looked like only 2 servers on duty so it took awhile for our server to circle back to our table when we needed them. Ordered the smash burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was tasty but the tomato made it wet and drip. The other dishes were tasty so we would definitely come back in the summer to take advantage of the patio. Prices were reasonable. 5:30 pm on Main Street Schomberg. Are we doing A day in Schomberg (2011, population of 2,321)? but everything seemed to be closed! Even Rona! The Schomberg Pub & Patio though is a decent place to chill out a little as their patio is nicely set up. You can even use it on a rainy day as they have a little canopy set up and covered some of the tables. Here you won't be get much people watching as the patio opens up into some woodland area. A cottage like setting! Unsecured wifi but just like any old historical buildings, there are a lot of blind spot where the signal is really weak. I can barely get a signal from my own phone supplier up here.... Beer is the usual Rickard's, Creemore, Canadian... my Rickard's White ($6.25 tax in) though is nice and cool! "END OF SUMMER BASH/HAWAIIAN LUAU - What better way to end the summer then LIVE Hawaiian dancers, roasted pig, live music and good times!!" Hawaiian dancers in Schomberg?! I don't even have that in Markham! I hope next time when I am in town, the weather will be nice and sunny so I can chill out on the patio a bit............. read more

- We arrived at the pub slightly early for our reservation for 8 tonight and were seated promptly in the dining room area, which is a quaint little area separate from the Bar area. It was a nice surprise to see that they had renovated since the last time we where there a few years ago. - Kids meals are slightly pricey at 9.99, however the quality of the food was superb and well worth the couple extra bucks. Both kids enjoyed their dinner and had full tummies by the end of the meal. - All of the appetizers for our table came out together and were nice and hot. the nachos with chilli on top were great. - Main courses were also timed perfectly and all arrived together. - Nice to see great service and a kitchen working smoothly with the dining room. - We will definitely return for another visit soon. - On a side note they had not seen the first order 15% discount from yelp, however, they honored it without batting an eyelash. They simply snapped a photo of the coupon and my bill showed up with the discount. Totally painless coupon experience for the win. read more

The Schomberg Pub is by far my favourite patio in York Region! The string lights, the river and the trees make you feel like you're literally at a cottage. The service is top notch, and the food is delish. The servers are all so kind and my it's as much family friend as it is a great girls night out. In the winter, dining inside is super cozy and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I would give it six stars if I could! My fave appetizer is the Nachos ... you also can't beat the famous Schomburger :) read more

Great find that could only occur because of Yelp. At Tristan arena and looking to fill an hour...had excellent two pints and a surprisingly great order of perogies. Would definitely try this place again with friends to try out other aspects of the menu. Try it out! read more

Today is the first time I have visited the Schomberg Pub & Patio in Schomberg, Ontario. The first striking thing about it is the building--once belonging to a Doctor a century ago. There are three parts to it: from the front you first encounter a dining area that could host a good sized gathering, with, as well, smaller nooks and crannies for a small group or a couple. The wallpaper and decor are exquisite. Go by the lovely little washrooms to the pub and bar--beautiful with dark wood. The best parts: amazing, attentive service. The server was courteous and friendly and professional. The chef, Aladdin, came out to our table to enquire about my friend's allergy to the usual salad oils--and he told her he would solve the problem by whipping up a small amount for her Caesar salad! Which takes us to the food. My friend described the salad as excellent. I ordered the Buddha Bowl. A Lebanese dish created by the Lebanese chef! When I go to a restaurant, I want something a bit different than the usual. This filled the bill! The presentation was gorgeous with the ingredients laid out on two roasted and herbed halves of zucchini. The crunchy ingredients included edamame, black beans, rice and barley with a bit of white sauce. It was unusual, every bite slightly different than the last. I highly recommend this dish! Please don't ever take this off your menu; this item adds an exotic edge for the adventuresome. I can't wait to visit in the warmer months: the patio beyond the bar is the best I've seen anywhere in this area. read more

We were up in the Toronto area visiting family from Florida and decided to go on a train ride with the kids but we had about 3 hour wait time so decided to find a place for lunch. It was lovely. The food was great. We sat outside in the sun and the server brought out crayons and paper for the kids. We ordered apps and they came pretty fast. But we had to ask a number of times to get the food for the kid first and in the end it came out with all the entrees. Took forever, guys who came after us were already done by the time our entrees came. The server was new but very friendly and tried the best she could. But the food was really good. Cauliflower fritters and the brie were wonderful. They didn't have any entrees except fish and chips and the fish was catfish. (UGH) don't like bottom feeders! But the rest was delicious. Everyone liked what they ordered so it was a good deal! If the weather is good, sit outside! read more

This is a must go to pub with your buddies! Not your typical pub, because this place is beautiful and clean. Decent selection on alcohol and the food is a little less greasy and more green ! It's not to know I can get a nice beef sandwich handmade and local! read more

Having moved from Toronto to a small town, I was worried about the lack of decent restaurants that were near us. This place is just great! It's walking distance from our home, the patio is epic, the service is awesome and the food is your typical pub grub - comfy and tasty. Being about the only pub in Schomberg left few options for where to get a drink and a bite to eat. Finding a parking spot was easy, and even if you parked a few blocks away its a pleasant walk through the historic village but arriving at the pub a car clearly blocked the stairs leading up to the front door. To my surprise the car was owned by the pub, ( a sign on the car door had a big ad on it) leaving a perilous journey over the ice ?..... who would do that ? The place was empty, except for 2 guys sucking back draft beer like they owned a brewery but it was a Monday. Finding for a table that was clean, near impossible, as I could see hand marks, finger marks, and what looked to be smeared food done with a dirty rag so I took a seat at the deserted bar. A cute bartender was quick to serve me but when she coughed while fixing my drink, touching the lime, and placed the drink in front of me replied "Oh I have the flu" . I thought are you for real, your sick as dog, and your serving food and beverages and just mauled my lime. I felt like ordering a triple vodka to sterilize my glass. Even worse is that she apparently told the management, and the management told her she had to come in, regardless of having influenza ? Whats next, shooters called H5N! ? Definitely not impressed Ordering the freshly sliced beef au jus, it arrived quick, but it had way too much grizzle in the beef making for a very uncomfortable chew. I wrestled it down and hoped that the next day I didnt wake up with a fever whilst the staff brought food to the bar in plastic bags, and take out containers, and enjoyed their meal behind the bar. Management is clearly missing and if not for the good company of a friend, I would have bailed but really, there wasn't another option nearby. At tad bizarre, but the smell of old draft beer and butts leeds me to believe that most were still drunk when they wrote their review or its the only watering hole for a hundred miles. We came to visit this pub on the way back from Hockley & we were very happy that we did. Great pub, staff & outdoor patio. We came for drinks & appetizers & were very pleased. I checked in on yelp & unlocked a 15% yelp offer. When I showed our waitress she advised that their establishment does not have such offer. I showed her my yelp app with the offer & she did say that they did not approve this. She was nice enough to offer us 10% off our bill but we declined as it looked like they truly have not approved this deal. So not sure if owners work with yelp on these deals or if this is an error with yelp? Either way, if I'm ever in the area again, would definitely go back. read more

The service is terrible. I over heard the waitresses talking about having to deal with customers on the patio. I was referred to this pub from 1812 grillhouse which is just up the road and is a fine establishment, but this place was nothing like it. I ordered an Amaretto sour and the tattoo covered bartender who looked like, and had the attitude, of someone living under the overpass in scarborough gave me a rocks glass of lemonade. When I asked how she makes her cocktail she barked "this is how we make it here". This was my first time here. While I ate my brown ooze covered fries the two waitresses talked about what a pain in the ass the patio customers were, how they wanted to talk to them and other unthinkable deeds.. If you like to wasted gas and time to get subpar food and lemonade cocktails this is a place for you. Somehow I doubt it.. I wish there was a 0 star rating, that's what this staff deserves. I can't say enough about this place. I read another Yelpster say it's got the greatest patio in Ontario.!! Bold statement but true! I was born and raised in Schomberg and if there is one thing I always remember as a kid, it was all the great food you could get on Main St. I work in Toronto now but still own a property in Schomberg, and every time I'm there I make sure to get to the Schomberg Pub. They have successfully managed to maintain that homestyle original flavour. The staff is always friendly, and even though they can tell that I don't live there anymore, they still treat me like a local. It's a great experience. I would love to try every dish on the menu, as everything I've had so far has been extraordinary. There's nothing like catching a Leaf game in the bar with a bunch of friends, ordering one of every appetizer, and having everyone full, yet still so much left on the plate. They definitely don't hold back with the portions, and what's equally amazing is that the great taste doesn't diminish with the quantity of food provided. With the summer coming up, I can't wait to take a few friends for some drinks on the patio. Hopefully The Schomberg Pub is here to stay so future generations can experience a great time. read more
