My bags were a little over the 50 lbs but the attendant allowed them to go. TSA was slow and there was only 10 of us at 4:30am. Only one food eatery open and prices were unreasonable for items sold. I paid $9 for cheese and grapes. A breakfast wrap only meat, cheese and egg $15. Nope- couldn't do that one. It's cold as Alaska in here. Feels like the outside at 23 degrees. Added stress... My flight has been delayed twice this morning with no future in bound Delta flights. This is not due to weather. Lord Jesus, please allow me to get to my 2 connecting flights in time. Next time, I will fly out of either Raleigh Durham or Charlotte. Know This #disappointed

They had a COVID-19 table set up with sanitizer, a mask sign, and a self-service thermometer (freestanding, takes temperature and automative hamd sanitizer machine). They also have self-service gas.

Food choice her are not the best and there is no Airport lounge though it looks like at one time they had a lounge available. Though they do have a Starbucks and one of the best places to sit awhile is an observation area located in theMain Terminal by the PGA Bar. This spot was a secret place that a TSA agent made us aware of. This agent was so friendly and helpful cannot thank her enough. We did have to go back out through security to reach this oasis but going back through TSA was so quick and easy. The airport also, had a lovely art exhibit in our terminal which was nice as well. Don't care to get stuck again but if I have to fly through this Airport I am onboard.

They've prepared for some level of traffic that is one day sure to come, but generally they sit relatively empty and waiting. Businesses are flocking to the so-called "Carolina Core" and it's only a matter of time, I think, before they even started expanding. Until then, this one-terminal airport is a breeze. You can walk from security down the singular corridor, and back, in a matter of minutes. It feels homely, warm, and inviting. There's free WiFi and ample seating so that you won't regret thinking you have to arrive an hour early to this airport. I even somewhat regret paying for TSA precheck because it has so far been pointless for my several trips out of GSO. The parking situation outside the airport is also practically flawless. You can park quite close to the terminal for $10/day or snag an Uber that will get you here and back in a breeze. Similarly to the airport itself, car traffic in the vicinity is also nearly non-existent. All in all, it makes the Triad and even more inviting and livable region.

The airport is home to some former commercial aircraft that are in various states of disrepair. The airport property is completely closed and fenced off. Because it's a live airport, trespassing is going to get you in trouble with the FBI so absolutely do not cross the fence line! That said, there are a few aircraft that you can still see and photograph from groundside. Especially if you have a decent zoom capability on your camera. My Google Pixel 4 did a more than decent job as you can see here. If you've got better, then it's going to look good for you. It's interesting and sad and a little disheartening to see these aircraft here, rusting and falling apart. Worth a stop if you're in the vicinity.
