Was pleasantly surprised to have them tell me it was free with the original purchase of the tires. I took back my van yesterday which I had repaired about 11 days ago. I went to Fred Meyer last Saturday, backed out of the parking lot and when I geared to drive I heard the sound, I thought I running over something. Driving straight on the street my steering wheel was way offset to about 2 o'clock. Labor Day weekend so I've waited until Tuesday morning. I thought they would do the Alignment to correct the problem, so I waited. I saw that someone drove my van onto the street, and he did not come back for about half an hour. He told me that the parts they used were bending and no one had the parts, so I decided to come home. The man called me around 3 pm and told me that it would be over $800 for me to pay for this. I can not believe what I heard, he also said that need to get parts and they are waiting for them. I am 76 years 76-year-old woman, I feel that I'm getting scammed by this place. I wanted to pick up my van and take it to a nearby place called Steve Auto, but he said it's not drivable. I drove the van to the shop, and I saw the man drive away with it, WHY? After this, I don't think I will ever take my van to Gil-Point-S in Newberg. I am done with them. read more

I get my oil changes here. They tested my battery and said it was good a few visits ago. Did a great job on my sedans brakes a couple months ago too. Yesterday I went in and bought a battery for my SUV and they happily installed it. I always look to see how crews interact. This group had smiles and seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs and coworkers. Polite and professional the whole time. Good to see an energetic cohesive team atmosphere. I'm in the McMinnville area and will continue to choose the drive to Newberg Point S over competitors. Getting ready to start a trucking business soon and the trailers and trucks will need periodic service. They said they'd wire up any light configurations I want as well, so that was useful. This location is perfect for this small town, it has the friendly I-know-your-name vibe...even if they don't! :) Larry is the first person I met and he is fantastic, don't ever let him go from here! He's super friendly and helpful, esp to me as a single lady who knows nothing about cars! He treats me with respect and explains everything in an easy to know way. I happened to go in when they were doing a special Passport deal, it wasn't really mentioned but I saw a small sign and inquired. If they have it avail, grab it, it's a great deal for oil change, tire bucks, etc. I really was happily surprised to get a text from them reminding me about something (can't recall what exactly) but it was so nice, they gave hospitality. Alas, like most tire stores their waiting room isn't fancy, it could use a "woman's touch" but they at least have water bottles and regular coffee with wifi. :) When I have had miscommunication, they have kept my business by making sure I get a discount. Huge thank you to this shop! Great service! With no appt at all I showed up, had a rough day, and My tire sensor said I had a low tire. After dealing with broken tire gauges at three different gas stations I was frustrated and just pulled in asking if they would check since at this point My Toyota app was not correct and I had no idea where the air pressure was at. They immediately helped me, checked ALL my tires and got the computer alert taken care of too! Bless you! I needed this today. This morning as I was traveling from Portland to Carlton, a light came on saying my tire pressure was low. Came recommended by my mechanic friend. They gave me options for my tires, and were very knowledgeable about which tires did what and which ones would fit my needs best. When they knew I was hoping to get my tires before driving 800 miles the next day, they made it happen - went and picked them up from another store that day. THEN, in California, a road hazard damaged one of my new tires and when I got back, they replaced it in 30 minutes, no problem, no charge. After finding a bulge on our 40k tire after only 13k miles. We went back to gills for a warranty replacement. Since they could not find an exact match we agreed to buy a second tire to match the replacement. This is a $74 tire. When we picked it up,they told us we owed $186. Installation and stems.... this is not the customer service we expected to receive. When we expressed our shocked anger they decided to drop it to $112. Still for a faulty tire that should have been covered. We should ave paid no more than the $74 for the tire. The stems had just been replaced. Crap company. We will be sharing our experience and will not go back. Think about that Gills. Where is your quality customer service that backs their product. Update: no contact was made. If you ever go to this Tire Factory, make sure the manager Larry is not there. I go to Jim Bacon's Tire Factory in Beaverton for all of my purchases, but every now and then since I work in Newberg I will something I need done and I stop into the Newberg location. Seriously, Larry the manager has tried to screw my dad over TWICE on sets of tires (and my pops owns a company with about 40 pieces of rolling equipment), Larry has talked to me like I am some uninformed idiot almost every time I've gone in. I will never go to this location unless it is to tell Larry to F off. One time I really needed an alignment on my car and I had a coupon for $50 off any service, I called Larry to ask him if I could use the coupon and how much the alignment was, he asked me what type of car I had and and then told me that the alignment was a 4-wheel one and it would be $79.95, so I confirmed with him that I would be able to use the coupon, and I was really strapped for cash at the time so it was very important that I be able to use this coupon so it only costs me $30. Long story short, I went in, got the car aligned and then when I picked it up and went to pay, Larry hands me an invoice that says $49.95, and I could not use the coupon. I asked him what the deal was and he denied that he told me it was a 4-wheel alignment, since it was only a 2-wheel alignment that made it $49.95. I was so freaking enraged, but I just paid and left. Then another time I brought my summer wheels and tires in to have them put on, because Jim Bacon's swaps them anytime for me for free, and Larry wanted to charge me $20! I told him that I had bought both sets of tires (and 1 set of wheels that was $1500) from them and he still wouldn't do it. I can't believe there are no bad reviews of this location. I will NEVER do business with this location, you can't miss Larry, he's the big tall gray-haired dude. Avoid Larry at all costs, he will screw you, he even ordered a special order of tires for my dad and bumped the price up $300 when they arrived, its a total joke! read more

I highly recommend doing business with this company. Whether it's tires, brakes, or oil changes, we've always had the BEST customer service and reasonable prices. Larry helped us out in the past, and more recently we've worked with Tony. Besides being friendly, the thing we appreciate the most about this business is that the really OWN their work. If there is any doubt in their mind that they didn't meet our needs 100% they take care of it. Several years ago they recommended tires for my husbands car that ended up wearing out way before the warranty. Rather than making us jump through hoops to meet the specs of getting reimbursement through the manufacturer, they warrantied the tires themselves, giving us a hefty discount on a new, different brand of tires. Had we gone through the manufacturer, we would have had to purchase similar tires to those that had failed, and what was the sense in that? Larry said since they recommended the tires that didn't work for us, they were going to fix it. More recently, they replaced our brake pads and rotors on our family van. The calipers seemed to be functioning fine, so they didn't quote us on replacing those at that time. The next day, the van began shaking intensely when we were driving, and we had to have the vehicle towed back to the shop. Before they even knew what the problem was, they were asking us if everyone was alright and offering to get us a rental car. It turns out that the calipers needed to be replaced after all, and while it was likely not their fault, they took care of it, replacing both the front calipers free of charge. Point S tires is clearly a company that values their customers and their reputation. They've consistently gone above and beyond my expectations in the years we've given them our business, and I look forward to doing business with them in the future. read more

Needed new truck tires and went to Point S in Newberg since this would have been my third set of Goodyear tires for this vehicle. Counterperson was rude to put it mildly... Wouldn't honor warranty, either saying tires weren't rotated often enough. REALLY?!!! Became angry when I asked more about it. Refused to sell me tires. This is on top of earlier manager (?) who was downright mean to his employees on previous visits. I only did business at those time because of his extensive tire knowledge. My brother went there today to get his battery replaced that was under warranty and the manager that was helping him said to go to the store in McMinnville because he couldnt help him.. and this was after several days of back and forth phone calls if they even had the right battery to help. This place is awesome. My daughter took her car there to have it diagnosed. The battery would not hold a charge. She really needed to watch how much was going to be spent on a car she was not sure if she was keeping in the future. She owns a small business in town and hoped this owner was like her, honest and has good character. Gabe was great and over heard her being told they were keeping it over night to see if it would hold a charge. She was going to walk back to her house in the rain with her 4 year old, but Gabe said he would give her a ride! The next morning, he called and said it needed a new battery and what the charge was for that. We told him we could get a new battery and put it in to save some money and he understood why we would do that and asked us to let him know if the battery worked and if he could ever help again with getting it started if needed. I have never had such a horrible experience from a service shop. They were supposed to complete an alignment. When we asked why the truck still pulled, they were rude and offensive. We then took the truck to Les Schwab and they verified indeed that no work had been performed. We went back to get our money back and again the rude and arrogant fools that worked there still lied. Recommended by a mechanic. We had an all wheel brake replacement, calipers, and discs. Gabe listened carefully to my wife's description of the car's symptoms, managed to squeeze in an inspection in a busy schedule, and then gave us a very thorough review of the problems he had found. I am a skeptic, but he was extremely professional as well as personable. He was able to factually back up every concern we expressed, without scare tactics, even asking if we wanted him to put everything back the way he had found it. We ordered the repairs. They were done by the next morning. Gill's service exceeded our every expectation. Their work is guaranteed. I was given a veteran's discount. While I hated the bill, the costs were very reasonable, my wife was in a safe car, the place was spotless, and the customer service just couldn't be beaten. I am scheduling an oil change for my diesel truck next month, and they will let me bring in my own oil (I am very loyal to a brand that is not readily available). Manager Larry was a know-it-all that obviously lacks an education and watch for his word play, he likes to wait until after the sale to mention he doesn't warranty some of his tires. Great service here. Larry, the manager is kind of intense, but in a good way. I came in on a Friday with a problem, he got me on the schedule for Saturday afternoon. He actually called me in earlier due to an opening and got me out of there for less money and time than initially expected.
