I want to start this email off with Precision Automotive has refunded me 100 percent. I am writing this review to inform others of the abuse I endured from this company. I was told parts on my car were faulty when really they were fully functioning. I dropped my car off on Sun Oct 1 because my car was overheating. I informed Precision Automotive that my car was leaking from the reservoir area. I told them I thought it was the overflow had cracked or it was the thermostat. I also requested they do an oil change while my car was there. I received a call from there tech, telling me that I needed a new radiator there was a massive hole in it. I informed him there was nothing wrong with my radiator. I then received a call from Ollie giving me an update on my car. He said that he went out with the technician and they put water in my radiator and it drained out the side. I reiterated to him that there was nothing wrong with my radiator when I dropped the car off. I was then informed after they changed the radiator out they took it on a test drive and the hose blew off the radiator. The next call I received was from one of the owners Brenda who informed he that they found that the thermostat needed to also be replaced. I then told Brenda what I had told everyone else and she told me I didn't know what I was talking about. There was a hole in the radiator. The call went no where with Brenda and she informed me that her Husband Mark or Ollie would be calling be the next day. I received a call from Mark. I explained to him that I didn't feel there was anything wrong with the radiator he informed me that I didn't know what I was talking about there was a hole. The call escalated very fast, he called me a dumb Bitch and told me to come get my F-ing car off his lot. He said there would be no costs just come get it now. I got there to pick up my car and I was informed by Brenda that she would not release my car to me unless I paid them 1095.00. I had to agree to get my car then they tell me my car isn't even ready I would have to come back the next day to get it. The car wasn't done when I was told it would be, I waited an extra hour and 15 minutes. Finally, I got the car home. I checked the oil only to discover despite paying for it, the oil change was never done (the oil was extremely dirty) and there were screws missing from under my hood. I tested the old radiator they said was faulty and it held 19lbs of pressure for 30 minutes, it didn't drop a pound of pressure. I called and talked to Jill who was extremely rude and told me they didn't have my f-ing screw told me that I didn't know what I was talking about. I went back to Precision Automotive to see when they were going to do the oil change I was told that it was done when I said it wasn't I was told that I didn't know what I was talking about. I then asked about the screws and I was informed that they didn't take my F-ing screw I was then called a Bitch and was screamed at. I was then informed by Owner Brenda that I needed to learn how to shut my F-ing mouth and learn my place. I finally convinced Ollie to come out and look under the hood of my car and he agreed that they removed the screws and there was never a oil change done.as well as that there was no hole in my radiator. read more

I had my car towed here when it stalled out on me driving through Newberg. The front desk employee was a joke. I think he was a relative (son-in-law?) of the owner. He seemed about 20 years old and had no idea what he was talking about, and also made fun of my lack of knowledge about cars. They told me it was the starter, but the car started on it's own. Since I don't know much about cars, I'm counting on my mechanic to give me trustworthy information. These guys did not. Stay away!!! read more

Yup - another reason it is becoming harder to trust a mechanic shop these days. I so badly wanted to avoid going to a mechanic with this issue because of the likelihood of being overcharged, and my fears became my reality with this botched repair job. I feel taken advantage of and that's a horrible and very regrettable feeling. I asked for 2 services and was charged more than double my estimate, and still only the one service was completed. Which one was completed? The one that rewarded the mechanic with trial-and-error experience and education, the supplies broken by the mechanic and the shop with more than double the amount estimated - all at my expense. Which one wasn't completed? The one that required a mechanic WITH experience and a well-rounded education to spend some time investigating. The two services requested were: 1) Replace driver's side exhaust manifold gasket due to a slight odor of exhaust when under the hood. 2) Investigate the lack of power driving under any load (like slowing going uphill,,, most specifically going up Rex Hill where my mph would drop drastically). The result: 1) I was told, by one of there other mechanic's, that "the young kid"(my mechanic) broke the bolts trying to remove the manifold and that he spent hours removing the broken studs. I was charged for those hours which added up to more than what the original job cost. I turned in a truck with 6 unbroken bolts, the mechanic broke 3 of them. Yet I have to pay for his lack of competence? AND I get charged to replace the bolts? So, just to be clear, I am paying for his incompetent work, the furthering of his mechanical education and the replacement of the supplies he destroys? Sounds like an adopt-a-mechanic program, yet the result's still failed. I smell exhaust more now then ever before on the driver side under the hood AND NOW excessively while driving (ya REALLY sucks sitting in traffic). Yay for that downward spiral! 2) My other concern with the underwhelming performance was answered with "seemed to drive fine"... Oh,,, well Me being the daily driver 'seem's' to not know how my truck -used to- and -is now- performing like. So I 'seem' to not know what I am talking about. One year ago it drove like a champ, some intake gasket's were replaced and now it drive's poorly. Quite specific circumstances to understand how a change has occurred and that an issue can/needs to be addressed, but no. The bolt-breaking mechanic, overrides my worries with his seemingly professional stamp of approval that nothing is wrong. Exhaust manifold gasket replacement (just one side). Just over $200 estimate, turned into $430. Then supposedly my coolant was low so they had to top it off to safely test drive it - $26 WHAT!! Oh ya and the 'we break but you buy' manifold bolts - $16. Total $464 to smell more exhaust and still drive slowly. P.S. my apologies to anyone stuck behind me going up Rex Hill. It's totally normal to bog down from 55 to 35 - didn't you know? read more

My company makes engine gaskets so, I visited precision this week to look at a chronic engine leak on a ford 3.1 L. I found Mark and the technician to be completely committed to solving the issue for this customer. It was a very complex repair. This shop executed the repair with great expertise. had used precision automotive in the past and was happy with the outcome..so, I was very surprised when I had an oil change and filter work done and was overcharged..I was out shopping and Juan called me to say I needed a cabin filter and the other filter also needed to be changed..he gave me a price of $130.00 for the filter work..I thought ..wow, must be labor intensive and I was going on a road trip and wanted my car in good shape ...I agreed...big mistake on my part...I checked when I got home and found this was not labor intensive and the local Ford dealer would have done the same work for $70.00...called to stop the filter work, but it was already in progress and I did mention to Juan what the ford dealer would have charged and that I did not understand why precision automotive would charge such a high price for the same work...picked up my car and Juan had lowered the price by $25.00...oh well, live and learn...will not be going back to precision automotive read more

I was most impressed by the fellow who repairs cars in the shop -- don't know his name but he has an arm tattoo and a lip stud and darker hair -- I had 'burned up' my socket assembly (aka lighter socket for those who are born before around 1970 like me) in my Honda Fit. Instead of just installing a new one of those he noted that he could install an additional socket assembly so I could power my laptop with a socket made for that type of thing that has its own line (in addition to fixing the burned out socket). This is just what I needed! Yay! Then he got it done sooner than I was told and for a lower price than I was quoted! I would certainly go there again and request him specifically. I also liked the owner fellow who helped me as he had the same recommendations and outcomes. For me it was a good experience and now my car is even more ready for the road trips I do frequently in it. Thanks! read more

A couple of classic car owners I know recommended this shop. I took my 1950 Studebaker in to them to have some work done and see how knowledgeable they were. It turns out someone there (I don't remember who) had a Studebaker in the family at one time and knew their way around them. They look for creative ways to make solid repairs that help keep costs down without compromising the work. They stand behind what they do and will go out of their way to make things right if something doesn't work as expected. The work is done well and in a timely fashion. I have been taking my classics as well as newer cars to them ever since. I always know the job will get done right, they explain what they did, and I get a senior discount as well.
