There is a great assortment of stores at the Gilroy Outlets ranging from high end to your everyday Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe. My favorites include Banana Republic, Under Armour, Lululemon, and Coach. Great deals can be found at most stores. Recently my boyfriend bought a complete suit at Banana Republic for $240 which was 50% off the total price. I have purchased a few Coach purses at the outlets for 30-40% off in the past. Both are amazing deals!!! A few negatives of the Gilroy Outlets is that it is entirely outdoors so make sure to bring your sunscreen unless you want to get fried. It seems like Gilroy is always hot any time of the year. The outlets are also divided into four different areas that you either have to walk (long walk) or drive and find a new parking spot. It is kinda tedicious reparking your car all the time. I wish there was some form of pedestrian crossing to make it easier to get from one section to another. I really like going to this outlet because the selection was really good. It takes me 50 minutes to get here from Santa Cruz, by driving the 17 to the 85 to the 101. I know I can take the 152 all the way through, but I hate driving it. I went here for Black Friday shopping at midnight and it was packed, but I was able to find parking. It died in the morning however at 5am because everyone probably wanted to go to Walmart, Best Buy and other places to camp out. The Sony Store was closed and did not open till 7am. There were people camped out for that one as well. I think instead of camping out in electronics stores like I have in the past like Electronic Fry's and Best Buy, I really think doing the outlet shopping thing was better on Black Friday. read more

It's an outdoor mall. Many many stores. Downfall about this place is that the stores are so far apart. You have to literally drive to the other sections of the mall to get to certain stores. Really sucks. Pros is that there are lots of stores and good prices. Con: everything isn't walking distance so the set up sucks. Driving around there sucks too because of the parking situation. There's an innout nearby if you're hungry. The stores I enjoyed are volcom, the north face, Corelle, and gap. There are better outlets out there. This is a great place. Huge and lots to pick from. It has a Chicos and a Starbucks I mean how much better does it get? But then consider that I am a country girl and don't have much of a shopping choice in the first place. So anything other than Walmart or Target, Ross or Kohls is an improvement in my book if just to give me more of a choice! But if you are looking for a bargain. You really have to know your prices. Not so sure about the great deals. Seems like you might be able to get a better deal in the regular stores when they have sales. No? But beware...even though there are plenty of parking spaces... Do NOT come on a Saturday!! We just met our friends who live in San Mateo for a little reunion for our girls. It is the halfway meeting spot for both of us. It was raining and my daughter wanted to see her friend's baby for the first time. Okay so most of my complaint is all about the parking So consider this two mom's and two daughters one baby in a stroller caught in a down pour. The two moms who parked a couple lots away behind everything, when the sun was out figured... not far... we could go get the car while the girls and the baby waited. Oh my gosh! Every terrible and impatient driver seemed to be out. The rain was not rain it was more like a bunch of angels standing on a cloud with a bunch of hoses blasting us and a bunch of idiots honking as if they could not see we were trying to load a stroller and a baby in the car. Just like I refuse to go to amusement parks on the weekends... I just added the Gilroy outlet to the list. Just like I am a good sport and will go to Disneyland or Knotts Berry Farm on a Tues, Wed or Thurs those are my new days designated for that place! read more

I don't think I would drive here again...unless bringing visitors.... The place sure is packed with tons of Chinese tourists, which is very good for our economy.......let the money come in...... This is a little better than Nut Tree because they have a few more choices to eat without driving out of the Outlets....... The mother of all Bay Area Outlets, Gilroy was the first outlet to open in the Bay during the 1980s. I remember going out there as a kid and it was swamped with people. Still gets busy, but you can find a parking spot. This place is a little flawed because it's spread out so much, and not a safe walk able shopping experience. They need more direct paths for shoppers to move around to all 4 complexes. I J-walked to the Gap outlet from the area closet to in-n-out. Kind of scary. I do like how each store is self contained and there are so many!!! I go crazy and spend hours here with whomever I'm shopping with. read more

I docked off one star because parking here is a b/tch. If you want to come on holidays where sales and discounts take place, go as EARLY as possible. Bad drivers run a muck in the parking lot, waiting like animals that want to pounce the second a vacant parking slot is free. I remember an episode where a Chinese lady was arguing in broken English with a Vietnamese lady over a spot, and one of the women launched herself out of the car and literally SAT in the parking spot and claimed it was her's. CRAZY PEOPLE! It's funny what a discount of 10-30 bucks can do to people. Anyways, the sales are AMAZING. When I got my good deals, I actually did not feel as annoyed with the parking spots. Kind of worth blowing $10 worth of gas when circling the parking lot for an open space. (Kind of contradictory to what I said before :P) We also just parked ONCE and walked to the four sections. To hell with going on with the parking craze all over again! Rave and the Banana Republic Outlet are my favorites. You get super good deals at Rave, especially on jackets if you're lucky. I have never set foot into Coach. The long snaky line that goes pass STARBUCKS always intimidates me, and I just gawk at the countless teenagers/women who line up just to get a bag. *Shrugs* But yeah. I will say that parking seems to be a lot, but it's not that much in the Gap section of Gilroy. This is my favorite outlet mall!!! Coach can be a bit crazy with everyone trying to buy a purse for hella cheap! Hello Kitty doesn't have the selection of goodies that the girls like. The ultimate thing to do at the mall is stop at the FRUIT STAND by the Erik's Deli and Adidas... You can get good size amount of whatever fruit mix you want. And you can pick whatever toppings you want... My girls got a pineapple and mango mix with yogurt and gronola. I got mangos with slat, lemon, and chile... YUM! So refreshing... read more

I've been to a lot of these outlet malls, and this one is probably my least favorite. Here are some reasons why: 1) The stores are so spread out. It takes a really long time to walk from one corner of the mall to the other. It's really unpleasant especially when it's like 90 degrees with no shade outside. 2) The parking situation is nuts. There are so many cars going in and out of this outlet mall. Crossing the street at crosswalks is rather necessary if you're on foot since the stores are so spread out, and crossing the street can be a bit intimidating due to all the cars trying to get in and out. 3) There aren't high end fashion stores here (no Saks, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, etc). Think Tommy Hilfiger, Van Heusen, Nautica, etc.I don't live near Gilroy so I definitely would not go out of my way for these stores. Livermore Outlets has these stores plus a lot more selection. 4) A lot of the outlet store prices here felt like retail prices. See: Ecco, Aeropostale, Levi's. I suppose a lot of outlet mall stores suffer this issue though, so it might not just be this mall in particular. 5) Because this is an outdoor mall, you're going to get the lovely smells of garlic wafting in the air, baking in the 90 degree heat. I guess this isn't really a huge negative, but just a thought. You're in Gilroy after all! I'd much rather go to Livermore Outlets, since the selection is a lot bigger there, and there is a lot more shade there. read more

Gilroy outlets, you aren't what you used to be from the days of my childhood. I guess the economy has hit you too. There are over 145 stores to choose from all split into 4 different sections so if you're planning to shop, come early and plan to be amazed but don't except to save. There are hardly any deals and I saw a few sales and going out of business signs and I highly doubt there being 145 stores anymore, not with all the vacant store lots but this is still the biggest outlet shopping area in all of CA. It's a mere 30 minutes away from San Jose so it was a quick stop for us today but it's sadly going downhill. read more

We come here once in awhile to buy clothes and shoes. Stores are pretty consistent. I do miss Vanity Fair and London Fog where you can buy super cheap jackets! Sad to see Sanrio closed up shop too. My one suggestion is fir them to find more children oriented vendors. There used to be a KB Toys for kids to hang out at. Now there is nothing for kids to do! Why is it that they have all the stores I love to shop at, but they are all so far away from each other? I mean, you have to drive to each little area since the place is so huge. But they have a great selection of stores for any kind of style. Parking sucks though, and I even got lost trying to get to the other side of the outlets. Quite a pain. You have to come at the right time to score deals. But sometimes that is when it feels like the whole world is here. I hate coming here during the summer because that's when it is scorching hot. Black Friday deals aren't even that great. Are you really willing to drive over here to get things "cheaper?" Think about the car you drive and the cost of gas. Carpool. The parking situation at the Great Mall, Valleyfair, and Oakridge is really getting on my nerves. I'm not saying that the Gilroy Outlets isn't busy, but perhaps my luck with parking there has been stellar so far. You've got quite a handful of upper hand stores to choose from. IE Nine West, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Lucky, Aldo, Nike, and much more. It's an outlet. Yes, several of the items may be heavily discounted and some the same at regular retail stores. There's something about outlets shopping malls that just gets me all excited. I love these outlets because there are a lot of stores. I prefer these outlets over the Vacaville and Napa ones. And this place is worlds apart from the Great Mall. I love the shops here but one gripe I do have is that these shops don't all have marked-down prices and I hate that you basically have to drive from building to building just to cover the whole outlet mall. Other than that, they have good shops and there are many. I prefer to go to these outlets during any season other than the summer because it does get quite hot. I loved it! It is nice and we went on a Saturday and surprisingly it wasn't packed. It felt like for most stores we had the whole place to ourselves. They have a lot of stores that I actually shop at and I was able to find a couple items for a good deal. I love this outlet. It has a large selection of stores and all my favorites. The one thing I don't like about this place is how you have to walk around a lot to see all the stores. Mehh came here for Labor Day weekend sales but they didn't have extra deals ontop of their deals so didn't find this place all that exciting. Plus, I couldn't find anything I liked except for some combat boots at famous footwear. Even then I had to whip out my phone just to show the cashier a coupon from their main website. Id rather shop at Ross or Marshall's than at Gilroy. But on the one plus side, at least it's hella huge so you can spend hours here and make it worth your drive. "Maybe it has to do with the newer Livermore outlets only 35-40 miles away on the other side of the mountain I don't know," It was easy to find parking close to the stores we wanted to go to and visit. It was 100 degrees outside in Gilroy, and quite a few of the 145 stores had their doors wide open. We will NOT patronize an establishment that wastes energy in such a manner. My wife and I will only purchase from stores that keep their doors closed. Its not only against California law to leave your doors open in 100 degree heat -- its stupid and wasteful because it causes unnecessary wear & tear on the air conditioner compressor. I'm not a tree-hugger but this was ridiculous. SImon Outlets should also be enforcing a "closed doors" policy on hot days. (Hence my one-star review for the Outlets in general). read more

Since 1989, I have been shopping at the Gilroy Outlets. I used to get the best deals and I would spend hours just shopping. But I have not gone in a while and so I just visited.....I am disappointed. I've been going to the Gilroy Outlets for years and have always had a good experience here. There is ample parking, great sales, and the stores and bathrooms are clean. I've never had an issue with the customer service either. Since there are four different sections of the outlets, I would suggest looking at the directory first and creating a game plan so you don't have to double back to any of the stores. read more

This place is so much.... much. If you have the opportunity to visit during the week when there isn't a major gift giving holiday or Labor Day sale going on, it's a shoppers paradise. They have everything. From high end designer stuff to weird stores that have a little bit of everything. They have clothing for everyone. All ages, sexes, sizes, budgets. They have luggage, jewelry, kitchen, bath, the list goes on. I hate this place on weekends and holidays. Everyone is rude. There is no compassion, no politeness. It is mayhem, it is selfish, grabby, chaoticness. The traffic, the lines, the way people talk to each other, spend every minute walking into others because they're on their phones and not looking forward. I haven't been to the Gilroy Premium Outlets for awhile. It looks the same from my memories but with less people even visiting on a Friday. My girlfriend and I went to the Vans outlet store, Converse outlet store, and the Bath and Bodyworks outlet store. All three stores have great customer services. I have visited a number of the stores here. The one thing that MOST of them had in common is that they do not have many good deals and on top of that, the staff aren't all that helpful. However, the one exception is for an associate at the Eddie Bauer store. She was more than awesome. She answered so many of my questions, some of them about warranties, some about full priced stores, and some about the stock that she had on hand. The service at EB was the best that I received throughout my over 20 store visit. The parking lot was easily managed. There wasn't a ton of trash flying around. The stores, in general, don't have much stock. I wasn't at all impressed but if you want an outlet just to check out, check out this one. It's just kinda sitting here. read more

When you hear someone say Gilroy, there are a few big things that come to mind. First, you probably think of garlic, which this wonderful city is known for. You don't even need to get out of your car when driving through Gilroy and you can still smell the pungent aroma of garlic. Second, you probably think about all the fruit markets, since part of Gilroy is primarily made up of farms. And third, you probably think about shopping. Gilroy is known for being shopping central. At the Gilroy Premium Outlets, you can easily come with high expectations and leave without dropping your wallet. So what makes this shopping center so fabulous? First off, Gilroy Premium Outlets is very accessible. It's right off Freeway 101, and so people traveling through and even to Gilroy can easily get off the off-ramp and into shopping central. Second, the outlets are HUGE. If I remember correctly from the several times I have gone, there are at last 3-4 different plazas with a wide variety of stores. The cool thing is that each lot has clusters of shops that have the same theme. For example, one plaza has purely classy/brand-name stores like North Face and Express. Third, parking is plentiful at the shopping center. Even though a lot of people come through Gilroy Premium Outlets, the beauty of having multiple plazas is that there will always be enough parking spots for people; you can either park in one spot and walk around or just keep driving along through. Fourth, outlets mean CHEAP GOODIES! For those who don't know, outlets generally have stores/brands that you would find at normal malls (give or take a few like Macy's), but they have radically marked down prices and generally have products that some people won't want. For example, at the Nike Store I couldn't find the popular Roshes. However, for most people, this is perfect! I was able to shop at several stores and spend around $50 for five different items! The only cons about Gilroy Premium Outlets is that they are just outlets and nothing more. You won't find many restaurants around the area that are walking distance and you won't find other activities to do without driving outside the outlets. If you are here, you primarily just want to shop and not drop. Overall, Gilroy Premium Outlets is a definite must if you are in the Bay Area and want to go shopping. For me, it's a great place to go once in a while (I live closer to Great Mall and don't need to drive an hour away). One of the big reasons I enjoy visiting here whenever I'm in the area is for the Lululemon outlet. That store is a hit or miss, but sometimes I'm able to find some good pieces at more reasonable prices. Definitely a good place to stop by if you're in the area and in search of good deals. They have Kate Spade, F21, Francesca's, Charlotte Russe, Under Armour, Columbia, Michael Kors, and more. I prefer the Vacaville Outlets to Gilroy because the layout and store selection are better. Gilroy can be packed and confusing to navigate and to see which stores are there. Definitely look at the store map online so you can see which "side" you want to check out first. Parking can definitely be challenging and you'll want to plan your trip so you're not backtracking because the other sections where other stores are require you to drive just a little bit. read more
