As working parents, we were eager to find the best care for her during the day. (Due to Covid, finding in-home care was challenging, so we had to look for daycares.) After extensive research- we enrolled our daughter here and could not be more pleased that we did! The hours are amazing and flexible. The teachers are an absolute joy and it is obvious how much they love each child. We get pictures throughout the day, and they also let us know which skills they are focusing on during their daily activities. We have an app that allows us to communicate with the teachers. This is where we can request they focus on a specific developmental need (more tummy time, etc), and inform them of anything they should be aware of (like teething or a rough night sleeping). No matter what time of day we pick our daughter up, we always are thrilled with what we see when we peek through the door. It is also great seeing every teacher in the school greet our daughter by name even if she is not in their classroom specifically.

The daily reports and photos are great, and as parents we always felt informed through emails, newsletters, and phone calls. At pick-up time, teachers would always take a minute to talk about how the day went. Everyone is so kind. The large parking lot is a bonus. There's no stressing about traffic or double-parking at the start or end of the day. We took our daughter out after five months but only because of lots of family engagements that would've kept her out anyway. We wouldn't hesitate to go back in the future.

Having a kid and sometimes moving. . .keeping an eye out for the best daycare for my two kids old hill remains the worse of these daycares. The staff was good enough. . .but honestly, staff ratings across these daycares are always good. Old Hill staff is no better than Bright Horizon (top employer by fortune) or Kindercare (maybe the cheaper of these). What makes this place so bad, was the incredible amount of "We are a westport daycare, how dare you think we need to take your needs into account". This place was closed more often than local schools, and more often than any daycare i've done business with. The larger daycares are open EVERY snowday, even the big ice storm that came through. . as long as they had power. These guys would close if they thought that maybe, eventually, someone might slip. School systems have to close, sometimes, they have bus. Yet my work (a large insurer) doesn't close if the school system is closed. My wife work doesn't close if the school system is closed. these guys remain the most ridiculous, ill fitting, don't get why they exist daycare. Seriously - you can do better; and cheaper - I did multiple times over. Maybe the other reviewers should try another daycare, before posting a glowing review about incompetence.

I have to say, from being a teacher with 20 years in ECE, this school's staff is wonderful!! The teachers are so caring, loving, and gentle with the children. I have been in day care centers that would scare you the way they treat the children. Not so here. The staff is incredible with the children, and extremely conscientous. Their love for the children is evident, and I would not hesitate to leave my child in their care.

Both my son and my daughter have received an excellent and safe education here at Ivy Prep in the Bronx. When my child was interviewed for kindergarten, we were told that she is well prepared and will be ahead of her peers with the education and preparation she has received here. My son began his journey with services like OT; PT and SEIT at Ivy prep. They were able to accommodate his service providers within their building and my child was able to receive all of the support he needed. In the Throggs Neck community it is wonderful to have a place like Ivy Prep to prepare your children for a bright and productive future! Highly recommend!!

One son was finished after taking it the first time. The other son was somewhat disappointed with his scores on his first ACT. Instead of trying to push more tutoring on us, Judy was very honest and said that he really just needed to practice and that alone would probably increase his scores. She gave him additional tests to take at home and had him come to CLC to do timed tests in a test-like environment and it worked! We're grateful for their help during this process and were very happy with the results.

Our experienced teachers really knew kids' personalities, their likes an dislikes. They kept close track of their progress in each aspect of Montessori curriculum and customized learning for them when needed. The school is a very safe and nurturing place with talented staff (after-school program is one of the best I've seen) and rich traditions. By the way, their celebrations are simply amazing! They remain among our most precious memories from that time.

When he was about to turn three this past September, he moved into the 3, 4 and 5 year old class. That is when they noticed he had a hard time sitting still and focusing. He was about to age out of EI (Early Intervention) and start CPSE (Committee on Preschool Education), which would mean the therapists that were approved (Speech, SEIT and OT) could work with him in his classroom environment. However, MCR does NOT allow ANY therapists in this school to work with children who have been approved to receive it. So, we were left with no other choice, and had to scramble to find a new school in the middle of October of 2018. Not an easy task considering that most were already full by that point. Luckily we found a school that my son adores. It is a play based, loving and nurturing environment, that is so in tune with nature and outdoor play. I guess everything happens for a reason, and we were very fortunate to end up where we are now. MCR does wonderful things with the students, my son learned a lot in his time there. Their holiday show and graduation are amazing as well, along with their camp. That said, Montessori is not for every child, especially a child that requires therapy of any sort. What bothered me about our experience is how they didn't give me any feedback of his behavior in the baby class (NK) prior to moving up. We did have parent teacher conferences twice in the school year, but they never spoke about how he was disruptive, couldn't focus or sit still. Had I known this was going to be an issue, we could have looked for other schools before he started in the toddler class. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth, as we felt forced out of there in a way. In closing, I debated on whether or not to write a review about my experience with this school. However, I recently learned the same thing is happening with another child there, so I wanted to give other parents a heads up before you consider going to this school.

The director lacks basic customer service skills and is very unprofessional. Children are viewed as dollar signs and not as children since the director only cares about the money. Teachers are not well trained or supported. There is a very high teacher turn-around. We had several issues regarding the safety and hygiene at this daycare. We have given this daycare many chances, but they continued to disappoint us. We only stayed, because we happened to have a great teacher who has obviously since then left - following many other teachers who chose to work at different daycares that actually care about the education and wellness of the children.
